I'm back from my road trip. More details and photo below. For now, here goes my contribution to the
@Buffalo_DRD weekly car show. I'll create the D1 thread for the October season shortly. Glad to be back on my sim rig even after driving 11 374 km (7067 miles for you americans) in 11 days.
I thought it would be fitting to use the Bonneville Salt Flats scapes as I was there a couple of days ago.
I had to drive on the Salt Flats but didn't go fast as 1 the surface is quite rough, much more than I expected and 2 there was an event so access was restricted to the rest of the salt flats. Luckily, we went through a lot of rain on the way back to Canada and I throughly cleaned the underside of the car just to make sure there wasn't any salt left.
Part of the Beartooth Pass in Montana / Wyoming...right after my Mustang overheated because the fan died on the way up. 100% the most beautiful place to break down. Luckily we limped the car back down, added some coolant and drove 8 hours the next day to an Advance Auto Parts that had the fan in stock and changed it in the parking. Easy 1 hour job for two non mecanic guys.
I have to go back and drive the rest of it. It truly is breathtaking while being an absolute blast to drive.
Utah State Route 95 with the new fan. Car has been running like a champ after we changed the radiator fan.
A little stop along Million Dollar Highway in Colorado.
The last two photos are from Colorado State Route 92 between Gunnison river Dam and Maher. Holy **** this was the most fun I've ever had in my driving life. We ended up on that road by pure chance, seems like we had a lot of luck.
And we ended the trip with Pikes Peak on a monday Morning...meaning close to no traffic. Our luck struck again at the best possible moment.
All around epic trip, you guys down south know how to make beautiful and twisting roads along breathtaking scenery.
