Participation was up this past Sunday. The scoresheets show 8 drivers in D1 and another 9 in D2.
Combo #1:
I saw the lower powered Nissan Silvia Q's make for a tighter grid in D1, at least for a little longer than usual.
The car and track combination still made for a few tricky corners. The grass did pull
@Xradkins 's Pontiac Grand Prix off the track. (I didn't know that car was in the game)
...and sent him into the wall on the far side of the track.
I believe I got touched up a little on this corner but my fellow D1 drivers did help straighten me out so I can continue without too much of a time loss.
Combo #2:
@A_Higher_Place ended up in a spin as a few cars were approaching him. Thankfully, he ghosted just prior to contact.
I had a pretty long battle with
@DublDee and
@Kgffy in C2R1. They both passed me on the final lap. I managed to take
@Kgffy 's position back briefly but he got a much better exit out of the chicane than I did. So it was all-out drag race to the finish line where
@Kgffy edged me out by 0.004 seconds to claim 4th place.
The tunnel sequence on this track required one to be delicate with the car.
@DublDee and I took it 2-wide with a slight touch. This did open the door for
@Smoove_cuda to make it 3-wide. Although I had a heart attack in this sequence, I caught my car and we were able to continue on with the race.
Combo #3:
A rare appearance by a Gr.2 car. I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, he had some accidents on lap 1 at the esses. Cold tires played a role.

To manage a group shot of this combo, I had to go to turn #1 of the race.
As was previously mentioned in this thread, the battle between
@A_Higher_Place and
@Worst_Driver in C3R1 represents what I believe Snail is all about. They kept their lines and left space for each other. Plenty of pressure being applied but no overly aggressive maneuvers. These two are likely to remember the journey of the battle they had over several laps much longer than they'll recall who actually finished ahead.
