Update size is 32.071 GB on PS5.

I had my hopes up for a new track when I saw the upgrade file size of 32 gb. I'm talking about the on going rumors about Circuit Gilles Villeneuve or even a surprise return of Midfield Raceway. Anything new, more endurance races, driving missions, bringing back machine test with the whole timing for 400-800-1000m, I don't know something to add to the game but no. PD being PD. They keep adding cars to their game but nothing to do with them. No new career mode expansion, no new endurances races with Sophy...nothing. Plus, they are almost never used in the Dailies aka Gr.1-2-3-4 races. With that said, I'm looking forward to race the Cosworth in SNAIL though.

D1 photos a little later than usual, I've been pretty busy this week.

This was a great combo. I loved the Aston more than I expected. @A_Higher_Place repping SNAIL all the way with his livery.

It's pretty hard to overtake at Brands Hatch especially in the second and third sectors but the door was open to overtake @Xradkins by the outside.

And one corner later I had the inside. I was pretty happy that the overtake stuck without any contact from my part.

This one was a lesson in throttle control. Quite a hard combo, it required a little bit of practice and patience with the throttle coming out of corners. Not sad to see it go.

Another week with the Mustang @ Laguna Seca. Seems like the Gr4 are the sweet spot for racecars as they have enough speed but not much and produce close racing across the field.

Even though @A_Higher_Place had a good lead by lap 7, @Nicktune and I managed to chip away at that lead and by lap 10 this is how it looked.

@A_Higher_Place Managed the pressure really well and earned the victory fair and square. Congrats on the win and that was a lot of fun. You had some lag spikes but nothing that impaired the close racing.

Nicely done on the pics @Worst_Driver . I really missed racing last weekend. I considered logging on only to try the Nova as I’ve had my livery done up and feared it would be a 1-N-Done.

I too am really disappointed with this recent update. When word came out it was 32G I assumed something juicy would be included. I read that it’s licensing issues but we really need a few more tracks. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve would be a dream but even fictional tracks would satisfy me at this point.

And it might not float everybody’s boat but the lineup of GT3 cars is pretty dated in our game. I have friends that are all in on iRacing and telling me to migrate over to that platform. But I don’t have an expensive gaming PC.

Maybe next update……

You don't need a ton of PC for iracing. If you want to run VR at 90fps you will, but the game is pretty easy on old mediocre hardware. And the graphics aren't awesome even with a monster PC, so other than for VR there are serious diminishing returns on spending. That said, I do have a killer PC(flight sims, on the other hand, are extremely taxing) and I have iracing, but I spend most of my time on GT7. On the road racing side, Iracing is mostly supporting pro series. There are maybe half a dozen cars with H pattern shifting at most, and most of them are legacy cars without any series to run in. FV is pretty much the only place to run h pattern with others. The old legacy MX5 is the only car in the game that is anywhere near close to a club racing car. The circle track side has a lot more non-pro racing options.

Now, most people probably don't care about translating to what they drive in real life, and even fewer people likely care about running h pattern with a clutch, but that's what keeps me driving GT a lot more. I pretty much only turn it on when I need to do some reconnaissance on a course that Iracing has and GT7 doesn't.

Track Boundaries.

Blue Moon Bay -
Infield All Layouts - The white line that extends into the oval portion of the course can be ignored as a track boundary. The yellow paint is considered to be the track boundary and you must keep two tires on or inside the white line when the yellow paint is present.

So, I may have spent a little too much time working on liveries and scapes this morning. Here's my car show contribution! A few days early and a few pictures too many perhaps, lol. First two pictures are in Colorado on my way to California for the Blue Moon Bay race.
1000005196.jpg

Once there the cars had to part ways, with the Radical ( nice choice of track for this car @CANOWORMS1 ) going to France for St. Croix.
1000005198.jpg

The Aston Martin going back to the United Kingdom for another round at Brands Hatch.
1000005200.jpg

While the Mustang stays put for it's time at Blue Moon Bay ( nice choice as well @DublDee and @Mac1032763 ).
1000005199.jpg

I have to say, I'll miss the Nova. Even though it was a handful to drive, it was a fun combo with some exciting moments. Thanks @JamCar0ne for bringing that one around last week!

With the new update comes the Ford Escort RS Cosworth '92. Available now in used cars. I'm looking forward to seeing this one included in our series sometime, so much so I've got one ready to go.

@Nicktune that's great news on the PSVR2. I just checked and the sale begins tomorrow here in the states. I've been looking at used ones but may just spring for a new one if it's priced low enough.
@Oshawa-Joe good idea on the social media posts for new recruits, it looks like it's already working.
@Worst_Driver very nice job on the race recap! Thank you to everybody who takes the time to make these recaps, they're awesome to see. Hope everyone is having a good week! See ya later.

The two new members are quebecers from my local group, seems like we’re gonna have two more frenchies in the league along with @Nicktune @Buffalo_DRD and myself. We may have a group of 4 of 5 other coming to practice lobby this weekend just to try our format and see what we're all about. @Oshawa-Joe This was a great idea, hopefully we'll have more new members coming our way.

Bienvenue to SNAIL ! @EdLeduc & @bublyman

Here's my entry to the weekly car show.

The new Colorado scapes are pretty neat. I've been to two of them, this one Independence Pass and @Dragonwhisky 's one at McClure Pass last month during my road trip. Man I wish I wasn't a two day drive away from Colorado, there are so many awesome driving roads.

My buddy and I did Million Dollar Highway up to Gunnison. From there, route 92 to Maher was peak driving for me. No traffic, lesser known road than the Million Dollar Highway, it was pure driving bliss. After that we did Mcclure's pass, to Independence Pass to end the day in Colorado Springs before climbing Pikes Peak the next morning...on a monday without any traffic. What a drive ! Fun driving roads aren't a thing in Québec, hence why I'm in awe in front of those roads.
