I would be lying if I said I didn't try the original Austin Mini at Matterhorn just to see if it would make it up the hill. It did...in 1st gear LOL. The trip back down was pretty exciting but I got bored after 2 laps.

The SNAIL Racing Porsche GT3RS livery on the proper race car.

Must say this thing is a beauty! Got two complements on it last night while racing.

I get a little further along in iRacing I plan to start some sorta SNAIL backed series. :)
Is that digital carbon fiber or the real thing? I would think digital would be lighter...

I just noticed something on the schedule of events. Can the Drivetrain Challenge be listed on Tuesday instead of Thursday? Not sure how many people look at this page, but newcomers may look for us on Thursday when we are racing on Tuesday at 10pm.

We raced for several weeks at 10:30pm to wait and see if anyone would migrate from the Kart series but no one ever did. So we are going back to 10pm since it is apparent neither of us are stealing drivers from the other.

Nothing like man made digital carbon fiber I always say. Can you hand lay digital carbon fiber? Hmmm...

Do "1's" and "0's" weigh anything? That car probably weighs nothing. It must haul serious e-ass ;)

Joe, I'll be racing th pp cap again starting next week cuz now I have a nice amount of cars and a fair bank
account.
Speaking of DTC (formerly PP Cap racing) If you are a new SNAIL and have never tried the series before why not give it a try. It is a relaxed environment with a great bunch of racers.

Look what came in the mail! I don't think I've been so excited about a package since the days of being a kid and getting 10 CD's for a penny (those where the days of Bon Jovi and Motley Crew. :D) Can't wait to get it rigged up somehow at the house... not sure how that's going to work out without a rig or a desk... any suggestions?

👍

HUZZAH!!!! At Last!

Reviewed all 14 complaints/inquiries and my replays finally worked!

I just hope they get this team on the online issues ASAP, assuming this is an actual fix, not temporary.

Some start with TV Tray, or a simple desk, or a 2x4 or PVC (use at least 1/2", 3/4" or 1" would be better depending on design), but it seems Granstand Bill has a pretty nice product - and a discount for SNAIL members.... (hint, hint, hint!)

I felt the same way 2 weeks ago when I got mine. I'm making my own rig and I have all the materials to get started this weekend. For the past 2 weeks I've been using a TV dinner stand with 10-lb weights attached to bungees on each side for "stability". It's not an ideal set up, especially on tracks with turns (um, that's right), but it's better than holding it on my lap :)

Here is an generic image of the kind of stand I'm using:

I think I am also going to build my own following the Simul8r plans I found while searching the web... looks solid. :) Guessing for now I'm going with the TV tray.

Ironing boards also work reasonably well, mostly because you can adjust the height. I used my dining room table at one point but 1. The height was fixed, 2. Since the tv was on the table, it would rock really badly when I would make a sudden turn, and 3. My fiance didn't really appreciate me dragging the table into the living room. I built my own rig out of 2x4s, scrap bolts and screws, and a beat up CRX seat my brother didn't want anymore. It was my own design and works perfectly.

Will be away from the tracks for the better part of 2 weeks ........... overhaul of the setup. New wheel - GranStand Cockpit (Crew Chief insisted) - so will take a while to setup, etc.. See you around.
Hold on there TEX. New wheel? Didn't you get a G27 a few months back?

This is my rig almost exactly. Same style TV trays...

I use a cheap laptop stand, $20 at walmart.

this was my very first rig from a few years back, some 2x4s,bolts,1inch square tube...less than $30bucks i think, all from home depot..i did all the cutting/drilling :D
I was using a similar folding tray posted above but it kept moving

I suggest using epoxy to build your rig instead of PVC glue. Something that takes at least 5 minutes to set. This gives you some time to get pieces properly place. PVC glue will set extremely fast, causing possible complications getting thing properly aligned.
And since we are sharing, I'll take the chance to share mine, again, in all of its ugly glory!

Then I upgraded to this when I got my G27

As it stands now. In the basement. I am slowly building up a small man cave/ game room, a laundry room and a room for all of my daughters toys.
