Went to the local coffee shop this morning – beautiful weather, finally – and with the Easter weekend, the lack of soccer or baseball games meant more Dads showed up with more toys. Still ran about 70% of what this place pulls in the summer or fall, but it was fun, with many head-turners. I dialed the size down on these pics to keep things from getting nuts. This is a small sampling. And, the coffee is good as well.

Normal crowd coming in for coffee...

Strange German Car from the 50's (?) a Kaiser Darrin, I think.

'Mericans - I didn't get great pics of the modern Shelby 500's (5 of them?), or the other modern Mustangs.

The next one is similar to one I saw awhile back - Corvette motor, elements of 3 different classic 50's cars... I actually like it. Custom built.

I'm offended that the only 2 pictures you took of me is from when I spun .

there is saying in my town that goes 'if the shoe fits, put it on' ..but ... that is what you get for not painting your car and putting a number on it. You were not part of the grid. This is from practice 3 or 4 days ago.

I went to the PCA Hershey Swap Meet & Show which is supposed to be the world's largest gathering of Porsches. They weren't kidding. Here's just a taste of what I saw today. :)

To top it all off my favorite car in the world showed up, and it's the first I've seen one in person! I probably have about 20-30 pictures just of this one car!

Not sure why but my lap times seem faster when I practice in game than when I'm online.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me.
Not that it matters, I'm still slow either way unfortunately!!!

The physics online and offline are different. The best thing to do is always practice online that way you are used to the actual physics that will be used when racing. Plus if you are online people can join you and help you out:)

Yes the cars feel much looser online for whatever reason. Been practicing as much as possible but can't seem to bring my times down.
Qualifying seems to be my Achilles heel, always starting near back which makes it hard to gain spots.
Maybe I've just ran out talent... Lol

Request to join
@Oneied,
Thanks for your interest!
We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. The Race Director or Primary Host from the corresponding SNAIL Division will send you a PSN friend request. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

It isn't that there is "more grip" per say, but more due to the fact that there is no tyre degredation offline. So you basically spend your entire time practicing while your tyres are at peak temp, and don't cool off. Combine that with the fact they aren't getting any worse, it makes the times quicker.

Got a room open for at least an hour.

Room Number: 1472 6399 8880 6895 4163

Running Toyota Practice at Apricot Hill. Might change for Nissans later. ;)

Thank you. Test has been taken. Dont think I will get me TT done tonight but will have it done to be ready for next weekend

Nonsense. There are lots of guys in the league that can help you get faster. While not everyone can be alien fast we can all improve. What times are you setting and are you using a wheel or a controller?
