I'll have some potential banner photos in a little bit, but I don't think that @Troggy is going to be making banners anytime soon as he hasn't logged into GTP in over a week.

I can provide photos, but I think someone else should make banners at least until (if) he comes back.

SNOLR Quote for the Week:
05: Running into the car ahead of you:
A:
The behind driver must take all necessary care and responsibility not to run into an ahead driver.
B:
In case you brake too late for a corner or partially lose control of your car, you must do your best to avoid making the loss of control into a bigger incident. Some contact may be unavoidable in these situations, but you are expected to minimize the impact of it to the best of your ability. If this means turning your car into a wall or off the track to avoid contact, that is what you are expected to do.
C:
The ahead driver must not do any malicious or inappropriate braking or slowing. Leading cars MUST NOT EVER 'brake check' the car(s) behind them because they are following too closely. The ahead driver IS entitled to be slower or use longer and earlier braking zones than others. They are also entitled to turn in earlier or later and/or apex earlier or later. The ahead driver should not make a drastic or sudden change to their line through a corner.

To qualify and expand on the above rules;
When any part of your car is close behind another, your braking points are no longer yours to decide. The ahead driver's brake points are theirs and no one behind them has any right to say differently. If you think an ahead driver violated Rule C above, or any rule in the SNAIL OLR, file an Incident Report and the Stewards will determine if a penalty is warranted.

Below are the results of the 14 incidents the stewards reviewed.

Division 2 - 3 incidents on file
Clutch_800
  • Round 1 - Race 2 - Level 2 - 8 points. 2 weeks probation.

Division 3 - 9 incidents on file

  • Round 3 - Race 1 - Level 1 - 4 points doubled to 8 for probation violation.

  • 22 points total and 5 weeks probation remain

Division 5 - 1 incident on file

Incidents on file.... Is that month seasonal stat or a snail career stat?

I should also mention that I changed the color of my F430 from Rosso Monza as seen before to Argento Nurburgring, an attempt to make my car more visible at night.

What'dya think?
you can still provide photos with the full intent of showing your work and races from your division. There's not need be a reason for banner making to be the primary.

I post pictures of our division or sometimes practice just to show racecraft and close competition. That to me is my primary reason.

The RX7 ones are just Yummie!

It's a shame I couldn't go this year. I live less than 2 hours from The Glen. Maybe next year.

I haven't been able to go see a race in nearly ten years.
ALMS and Ferrari Challenge at Auto Club Speedway was the last time I think.
I miss going to those.

What are some times for the tracks we are racing this weekend. Just wondering. I've been practicing and would like to know what to aim for.

I'll be at the west coast division races tomorrow. These car and track combo's are a blast to drive. 👍

Hello all who want to race in the West Coast Division.

This is the last night that I will be the Division Co-ordinator. In order for the division to continue we need some volunteers to help run things. Doing this has been my pleasure but it is now time to pass on the reigns to someone else (or a team). If you want to step up and help run the division please let me and @JLBowler know by PM. There are some behind the scenes things that need to be done to keep this league running.

It has been a pleasure racing with everyone that has come out and joined the WC division. I will miss the racing but more I will miss the friendships. Hopefully you will all keep it going so one day I can come back and join in. Until then keep an eye out for me online. I will likely be at the Nurb just running laps or practicing for the DTC.

Finally. I will once again not be racing tomorrow so best of luck to everyone and I hope you have a good turnout.

Should be 7 minutes at Daytona Road Course with the Subaru. It's even listed that way in the second post now.

There are a few changes to Division Stewards, effective immediately. With @jobyone stepping away from steward duties, @tezgm99 has offered to step up and be a Division Steward. Please see this post to view the changes to Divisional Stewards.

Got some potential banner photos!

Updated! 👍

Ok guys. I have got to do some house cleaning on the driver's list. If, after this week, you have not raced on a Sunday night in the last two months, you will be moved to the inactive list without question. The grid sizes have gotten a little low for my taste and part of that is the guys listed as part time are taking up space on the driver's list.

If you get moved to the inactive list it doesn't have any effect on your ability to race in other SNAIL series. It is just a tool to try and get the biggest grids we can get on Sunday night. If you are on the inactive list, all you have to do to be moved back to active status is PM me by Saturday at 11:59 ET and I can move you back to active and you can race the next day.

I am pleased to announce that SNAIL Autosport is now officially a thing and is open.

How have I been missing out on this?! I would LOVE to join S.N.A.I.L.! Consider this my request to join! Do you think my request can be processed fast enough for me to race tonight?

@FakeID341

Here's your official S.N.A.I.L. Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.
