Working on some mounting solutions for my next rig "investment" :D. Anyone have any opinions?

So keep practicing until you don't suck anymore. The practice will benefit you regardless whether the combo is used again or not. Big picture...
yeah with out someone to at least shoot the bull with it gets boring which is why I only do 20 laps per day per known combo

Well this is an eye opener. Asus VE278 monitor vs my old and true Sony 50inch.

I bought this monitor for my son as a Christmas present. Since my TV is broken i needed something to race with now. I do have an older 17" monitor but i said what the heck why not try out his new 27" gaming monitor. As of yesterday i knew my Sony had a great picture and detail. Wrong! ohhhh so very wrong. This monitor is amazing. Changes the whole game. Now i am starting to understand why a "gaming monitor" is so critical.

This little experiment of mine just cost me more money. How can i go back to the Sony after viewing the Asus? Would be like going back to a bicycle after driving a car.

I wonder, will this make drive faster? ........
what model exactly? is it the VE278Q?

I've recently begun to think this concept may be a better form of practice for me as well. I've had good results with limiting my practice to 10 or so laps at a time. I tend to over think things sometimes so maybe the break helps to clear my head and restart fresh without an overwhelming amount of details to process from my previous 30 consecutive laps.

I run the amount of laps used in the race, then switch tracks. Keep cycling through until I get as close as I can with the D1-3 guys (usually within 2 seconds for me). I've recently started switching once I've gone off the track more than once per lap. Eventually I'll take that to a one and done situation. It's helped me focus and work on rhythm more instead of watching the clock every lap. It's slowly starting to pay off....I noticed it in the Grimm's Race Car series where I'm on the track longer without visits to the beach or mowing the lawn.

So many different ways to work on race craft. It's one of the things I enjoy about SNAIL the most.

lol I would do that but we only have the one combo!

Practicing with others is a much better method for me too. I managed to knock a full second off of my time with the M5 @ Spa in just 3 laps with some others in the room before races on Sunday. I managed to keep thst consistent, knocking 5 seconds off my total race time compared to last week, getting it under 10 min, and having my fastest lap match that lap that was 1 second faster as well. I don't necessarily need others to watch their lines and times, I just seem to stay focused better with other drivers there. Practicing alone just doesnt always work for me.

And you can get tips from them where they are better then you

Yep! The other obvious ones too, like watching their laps, splits, etc, but for me, even just seeing if my laps are competitive against my division is enough, so i can go and search for time if i need to

Soooooooooo i bite the bullet and went and bought a new car and i also stepped out my comfort zone and purchased from a manufacturer that i have a tendency to make fun of......... anybody want to take a guess at what it is?

I think I'm the same way. If I can smell blood, I will probably drive better.

As far as practice goes, that's hit or miss for me and it depends heavily on who I'm watching. I like to watch faster guys in the same view I race in, but if it's somebody with a driving style very dissimilar to mine, it's nearly useless and also my skill level may be significantly less refined. I will get more out of watching somebody who's .8s faster than somebody 2.0s faster

Repetitive solo practice reinforces my bad habits...but I become very consistently bad. Lol.
To quote the dad in American Pie : "It's like hitting a tennis ball against the wall. Sure, it's fun, but it's better with a partner". Obviously he was making a reference to something other than racing, but the same applies here. For example, last night I was fortunate to have @Vegasracer join my Daytona room and give me some pointers. He was laying down laps in the 1:52.xxx . Now I couldn't come close to those lap times, but I trimmed more than 2 seconds off my previous personal best laps. Thanks SCHMEDRACER!! I can now be a bit more competitive (at this combo)in my division this week. Can wait to practice tonight and improve even more.

yessir!!! did a couple highway pulls with it OMG its lovely!!!!
yeah but think how much better it would be with a nonpc name...like Rattlesnake, Diamonback, even Muskrat...but FOCUS...on what...my navel. Jeeze where do they get their names. Great car...drove one last week...but its either a BRZ or a 65 Mustang next for me...if ever...sigh.
