Hey @Dragonwhisky, could I get the 411 on combo Practice Time Trials, I looked through the docs in your signature and searched the forum. No luck, I am still unsure about how to participate and how they work. Thanks in advance!
@Dragonwhisky , I figured it out. Community events....duh. I assume it is OK to enter the open events now that I have been placed? Thanks!

This can be a normal week for the stewards. It takes the commitment of racers to race the track within the rules and boundaries. If you happen to go over a line, acknowledge it by letting off the accelerator, completely letting it fall to zero for a second or so and there is no need for a steward review.

I'm soo sorry. Yes I copied and pasted to my racing website originally. So I thought I would do it for you guys, since you all were talking about it. Yes the list was final and then they moved the release date back to March.
I bought my ps4 and T500 back in October in preparation for Project Cars.
Since I wasn't politically correct with my post, I hope there isn't any updates for the G27 or G25 wheels, go buy the PC version if you want to use your wheels.

Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The penalty list is absolutely ridiculous and I do fear we will have the same issue on the stowe because the only chance for passing in the whole track depends on making that chicane after the finish line as fast as possible to overtake at the airpin.

Looking at the list, what's ridiculous to me is how many people showed no care and shorted every corner they could at ascari(not only the 2 chicanes). You can see by the numbers a good chunk made a strong effort to take the corners properly and another group decided speed through shortcutting was more important.
You may be right about Stowe, so I say run hard through the chicane like you say. If you make the chicane then go for the pass at the hairpin , if you don't make it through , better check up:cheers:

No, the issue is that you can take the chicane flat out IF you have your turn-in point right. Miss it by any margin and you will cut it. That's when you need to lift off to compensate for the shortcut
Well but... why would anyone file a report on someone who's already obviously penalized themselves on track?

Also... if it's so likely that you might get it wrong, I think a good number of people will err on the side of caution because it won't be worth the risk, in the big picture. Again... how would that make for bunches of people cutting & needing race reviews?

Also, many of us will be heading into that chicane lap after lap, with a bunch of cars around us, right? Further lessening the potential boon to such a risk...

I, for one, don't want to be having to make contact concessions & be generally fostering ill feelings with other drivers because I wound up punting them while "going for the gusto". :ill: :lol:

@Lessen is right... in a car like the Mini Marcos, which is suited to this track, there are many areas of opportunity & risk... No rational reason to put all one's eggs in the T1 chicane basket.
 
I respectfully disagree. The hairpin is not the only place to execute the pass. Getting OFF the hairpin properly and getting a nose in at the big left is where to overtake.
But you still have to make sure you have the proper amount of overlap. Otherwise conot act is inevitable

I took @Lessen 's reference to "getting a nose in" to mean just getting committed to a good line or making overlap, legally, by the next corner.

As opposed to what I call "snoot sticking" - cramming into a space that doesn't exist to force a pass. I've heard this referred to as "sticking a nose in". (It's dive-bombing's younger brother.)

I've also heard "sticking a nose in" to refer to when people do threat-snoot-sticking as a (possibly legal) sweating tactic.
IE: threatening to dive-bomb or shove, but not actually dive-bombing or shoving, as a way to psych out the person in front of you by making them think you're crazy enough to dive-bomb, & getting them to yield the line to you ... so you are allowing them to pass out of fear they're going to ruin your race with a major collision.

Exactly! It's pretty easy to tell if you've gone OOB or not, and even easier if you think you've gained an advantage, because is race car drivers, that's exactly what we want, the advantage! If we get it, we'll surely know it, so just ease off on the throttle to acknowledge it. Respect your other racers and play fair, and you won't get penalized.

Of course, that's what I mean by getting a nose in. Get just enough overlap to engage the other drivers side markers so they know they Need to allow a lane. This is far safer than trying to go to the inside of the hairpin entry which is shortly after a single line chicane. Unless the ahead driver is way early on the brakes or was significantly slower through the chicane that would be a dive bomb in pretty much any other case.

But you cant rely on the side indicators. I use them and someone can have a a nose inside the rear bumper and it will go off. Only time I have found they are even remotely accurate is when they are red. But even then some times there is not enough of overlap.

Those guys kept me alive in SEA....they are the reason I am here to make this post....my hat is off to him.
Last night I came back from a business trip. I met up with my wife at the movies. We came home after the movies and there was a BIG heavy box (130lbs) in the front entrance - my wonderful wife had a big surprize waiting for me.....

For the past two years, this was my set-up:

Next time, I will hit more flagrant OOB repeats next week, with prejudice - if needed.

Read the course boundaries, and follow them. Enjoy the racers who do the same.
KEEP IT BETWEEN THE GRASS.....please. I also did some minor lifting....around 40 or so....to those who were "used" to sort of easing out into the grass...tuck it back in. To those who did it flagrantly with malace and forethought....shame on you....the mercy meter is at zero.

On a more fun note....DART....Disabled, Ancient, Retired, Team....made up of all SNAILS and weekday SNAILS is off for its first test at Bathurst....go here for the official entry list and spectator guide. All of our drivers will drive both cars so disregard who is in which car. Look for the really easy to spot Sassy Grass Green Cars.

I'll give you that. I'll also add that in tight quarters there is little to nothing we can rely on to know precisely where all other cars are at all times. We have no peripheral, and side view glances are extremely useful, but not equal. As they say, it takes two to tango. If I'm that close to the grey margin of acceptable overlap at the quite variable point of corner entry, the best I can do is suggest to dance smart.
 
That's the manor drawback to this game and all racing games. There is no peripheral. There is no telling how close someone is beside you when your balls deep in a corner.
Luckily, someone has thought of this and has made the Oculis Rift (not sure about the spelling). Currently saving my pennies for this awesome contraption. Google it if you haven't heard if these goggles before. Priced pretty reasonably when compared to a flat screen tv.

I have the look left and right programmed on the L2/R2 buttons on my T300RS
