Now we're talking... and you will want to kill me. Right behind me in 2 humidors I have about 40 Cohibas

We're talking Piramides, Behike and Esplendido.

Paid $50 per box of 25 in Cuba....

Nice buy. I still have a stockpile of a bunch of Carlos Torano stuff that I bought when my buddy was the sales rep for California and Nevada. At one point, I had at least three boxes of everything they made. I still have at least one unopened box of everything and some loose stuff floating around in the humidor.

Hopefully they open Cuba for US tourists soon, then you guys should finally be able to bring back cigars like we can.
I have 1/2 dozen Romeo y Julieta Cedros De Luxe No. 1 on their way from Cuba right now. $7 ea, they are $30 ea to buy here.

I had a pretty rough week in the office, very busy... Tonight I'm planning to bum out with a good scotch, a cohiba and some biltong.
You mean something like this: Ardbeg Ultimate, a Monte Cristo and Top Gear instead of biltong. This was a couple of Fridays ago after a long week!

Edit: crap, double post, better go have a scotch!

Try buying cigars in California. The isn't an exchange rate but there sure are some hefty taxes. I can buy the same box of cigars here for $120 that I can buy out of state for $55.

It sucks because there's a lot of things that are so much cheaper in the US than north of the border. Tires are way more expensive up here. I ordered a set of Michelin X-ice Xi3s for my car from Tirerack, and had them delivered to a friend in Seattle at $80 less per tire than if I bought them from a supplier here in Vancouver. It's always been that way with tires too.

I do a lot of shopping on Amazon or online US retailers and deliver things to a post office near the border. My camera body, lenses, tripod, all other camera gear, and TV were bought from Amazon and similar retailers, and I've still saved about 15-20% after the exchange rate and applicable duty at the border. Top up on much cheaper gas when I'm there and the 100km or so round trip is more than worth it.

There are plenty of Cuban cigars floating around in the U.S. It's also worth noting that a Cuban cigar is not head and shoulders better than anything from anywhere else like it used to be. So much of the Cuban seed and so many of the Cigar makers have left Cuba that many other companies are closing the gap or have surpassed the quality that comes out of Cuba.

Quick question from a color-blind person:

Does the Matte Blue in the game look really blue? To me it looks closer to purple and I don't like that.
It looks blue to me but I tend to like my blues closer to green than purple. On my TV the "Matte Blue" I have in GT6 is right about in the middle of "blue" when you look at it flat on (maybe sliightly on the purple side), but in some of the highlights it might shift a little bit more purple. Most people would just say it looks blue, though

We are thinking of doing a race at Bathurst but if I recall there is an issue that some experience with Bathhurst. But I can't recall what it is or if it has been fixed help would be appreciated!

Looking to join the epitome of racing leagues for Gran Turismo. I have hovered in the top 125 (not sure how) in the US GT Academy competitions for the last few years but, I then lose interest and go on a hiatus for months at a time. So looking to knock off some rust the right way and get involved finally. Please let me know the the procedure if there is vacancy.

Thanks,
Eric

@nmcp1 will be along soon to "officially" welcome you and get you started.

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

To all Score Keepers and Data Specialists,

The final test for SNAIL Sunday Scoring and SNAIL Data is now in session. This test will run from now until approximately 8-10 PM Eastern tonight. What is needed is for each Score Keeper and Data Specialist to test their ability to edit their respective sheet data and to notify me if they cannot.

Please keep in mind, if your Division Manager has not updated their section in the Team SNAIL tab of SNAIL Data to reflect the job distributions accurately, that will need to be updated before your permissions will be granted.

Sometime after the test deadline, the sheets will all be reset and be prepared to be set up for tomorrow night's racing.

Thank you for your assistance with this test.

Edit; Division 5 still has no Score Keeper(s) designated. Scoring is a weekly prize eligibility requirement. Someone might want to get on this soon.

I put the word out on the street that we need a scorekeeper in D5. I assigned a backup scorekeeper that will take care of scoring should nobody step forward

I tried the go to the doc that I used to have and it says I need PERMISSION.

It sounds like you said you went to the doc you used to use (SNAIL Results - New or something similar). That doc is no longer valid. Use the links @Dragonwhisky has in his post above yours. If those don't work, then let us know and we'll get it fixed.

Great Race Camp last night with @GTP_Vertigo … it’s too bad so many campers stayed home … must’ve thought it was gonna rain. :sly:
Yes it was small but more ono on one which I think helped.

Hmmm... I was doing other stuff, but was checking the thread for a post concerning race camp. I didn't see anything so I never bothered getting online. Maybe a friendly reminder next week? @GTP_Vertigo
I could have sworn I add you into the conversation for Race Camp. Next week I should be feeling better and will remember to post a reminder in the thread.

Tested the new Data sheets and they are amazing. Everything works for me.
