My name is obviously my name backwards. I was signed up as Ch11chcftzp for the model and registration numbers of an airplane I used to own, but having the two signup names caused some confusion so lobbanmike it is. With a few Mikes out there, Lobban is the best thing to call me.

Aeroliteflite was the wanker that got me involved in Snail last August, glad he did.

First impressions of Project cars for PC:
I have only played single person so far

Graphics-amazing
Physics- very real
Controls-in game support for my G-27
Sound- amazing
Tuning- everything you could want.
Cars- tons of them and you don't need to win anything to use any of them
Tracks-again, tons of tracks, a few will be familiar to most of us,but a lot of variety


Like any new game,(sim), there will be a learning curve, I tried to drive the old lotus open wheel and wow, what a handfull, you want to have a delicate touch on the gas pedal or you will be around.
I also drove a cleo and had a blast throwing that car around. The shifter kart was not as fun as gt6's, but I only messed with it for a few minutes. I did a lap on Spa and I certainly recognized the track, they have posts up on the chicanes to keep you honest. The track felt a little more real than GT, visuals were better, but when you are racing you don't have time to look at the scenery. The car and track details are amazing in their detail. Smoke and rain look and feel real on track unlike GT where rain feels and looks more like fog.

So far, I am very impressed with the game, but I think it will take a while to get some decent leagues out there, so I will stick with GT for my online stuff and just run single player for a while on Pro cars. I will dable with the online stuff to familiarize myself with the process, but until I can find a league like Snail, I am staying put.

Soooo, I highly recommend Project Cars on PC. I would imagine the console versions will be just as pretty on the new platforms. Another 59 bucks well spent. 👍👍..

How many of you have met one of your heroes? I race with the number 31, played hocky my whole adult life wearing....yep, 31. Well I ran into Billy Smith, famous goalie from the Islanders back in the 80's who always wore 31. Battling Billy was one of the best. 4 Stanley cup rings and a fighter. Ran into him at Costco in Ottawa, he was surprized to be recognized. I was shaking. Bugger looked like he could still strap the pads on and bust a few heads that got a little too close to his crease.

If anyone has some down time to kill on GT6, give the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar a spin around Mt.Panorama. Run the car with a mid range turbo, on sports soft tires, and I guarantee you'll have one helluva good time! It slides through the corners with ease, and it sounds pretty good too!

Can I ask what is the deal with having non racing cars parked on racing Tarmac during practice on one of the fastest places on the track?

This is a transgression to OLR and simply Rude to the fellow racers.

The driver must find a position on the track where the driver will not endanger other drivers, park their car by coming to a complete stop and turning on the emergency brake and wait for the race to end. I use a $50 Afterglow headset. Works wonders. It goes more than loud enough to hear what you want and tone out those that you don't. Problem is, there is no mixer/eq on it so you cannot customize what you hear.

I got it, funny thing is my G-27 has a very bad steering dead zone on straights!
I have to see/saw the wheel to keep going straight, not cool.

I don't know how much a ton of money is for you. But I still use the previous version of this. Right now for under a 100 is pretty good.

It's the replacement model for the one Wolfsatz listed and it's a little bit cheaper. It doesn't have the BassImpact feature of the previous model but the sound is very good and it has stronger battery performance.
