Can't speak to whether the drive is owner repairable or not but, since you already have another PS3, be brave my son. Tear it apart see if you can fix it, if you can't, you can probably pick up another used PS3 in working order for around the same price as the repair shop offered to fix it?Looking for some information.
My PS3 won't read any game disc I install. It still plays downloaded games, but that's it. The local repair shop wants 125$ to repair it, but I don't know if it's something I can fix myself. Has anyone here had this same problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?
I bought another used machine, which I was planning on doing anyway, transferred all the data to the new one, but I want to be able to play game discs on both machines.
Any help or advice will be appreciated.
