Yep.

"Keep it simple stupid"

I'd say the street Miata should be the only car used for Monday's. Folks that are dead set on having variety can get that on Sunday's. Monday's are supposed to be about close, controlled, wheel to wheel racing and the street car has proven to be the best vehicle to achieve that.
I agree the Miata is good, I just started thinking the TC was better, or more good so to speak. As long as we remember not to bring the Miata to long tracks like Suzuka where the longest straight is over half a mile. Suzuka is a tough track in general to maintain side by side racing, just by the nature of the course not being just clockwise or counter-clockwise. It's both.

Sorry for the double post but this is a separate topic:

Let's get some new combos testing and announced today! I'm off from work and have the whole day to practice.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - BMW M4 Coupé (Sports: Soft) at Cape Ring (4 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @DMacs13 wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Cadillac CTS-V Coupe '11 (Sports: Soft) at Silverstone International Circuit (9 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @pakicote gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @WraithQueen so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Prize C goes to @WraithQueen so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.@WraithQueen is a Lady Gentleman!:)

The above comments on the Pack have brought to the forefront the reason to create the series.

I was VERY frustrated with how slowly I was progressing in learning how to race door to door. So after A VERY LONG testing period we adopted the Miata and boost. It could be driven ,as Robbie noted by everyone. In contrast the Miata Touring car was a handfull for those at the tail of the train because the boost was magnified due to its increased speed, thus rendering it overly INTERESTING for new drivers to control....and guess where the new guys are....in the back with the most boost.

On Monday Night Racing we will always race the Miata ( or a better car if ever found) to allow all drivers to both learn, and just as importantly, HAVE SERIOUS FUN.

...and we will always have a faster second car to allow the faster guys to strut their stuff and to introduce more speed and reduced decision making time to our new guys.

AND....once again....a serious thank you to @racingchamp30 for being the perfect host and defacto day to day Series On Track Boss. Without you the series would have vanished in the last couple of months due to my bouncing off of numerous health speed bumps.

Anyone wanna start up a room to test some cars in the 400-450PP range? 150-200HP? The Toyobaru is nice but let's work on another to switch up.

When testing to add the Toyobaru, did you try the 86 Racing or 86 Race Car?

Everything I can agree on, except the last part about the series falling off the face of the Earth. Last night was indicative of this. When champ was late to show up, numerous people stood up to the plate and offered to fill in as host for the night. Just goes to show what a good bunch of guys we have on Monday nights. Always willing to help for the greater good, and I don't see this series shutting down any time soon because of a lack of help or interest.

Last night was an Unusual occurence..but you are correct there is a very hard core of 7 or 8 guys who can't survive without their Monday night fun fix who will...and have...taken matters into their own hands when necessary. No series can survive without them...👍

It was nice to see a full room pack racing last night even though I couldn't get in. I think in a general sense there's been more people promoting MNM with new blood verbally during practice sessions throughout the week. I hope attendance stays high.
It's been said before but I will reiterate that any new driver to SNAIL, not fully comfortable or used to close proximity racing on Sunday's, Monday Night Miata's is the proven cure for that.

AMEN

We are reviving our ops plan for multiple rooms so you won't be left out again....we WILL NOT.. Turn anyone away....again.

I can be a testimony for that it helping my close quarters racing. I started in D4 due to a fast time trial but I didn't have the race craft for it yet. I quickly made my way down to D7 and had to work my way back up in a clean and friendly manner. I've made plenty of friends along the way from D7-D4 too!

**Currently testing new cars for the Monday Night Pack Racing Series**

Cars to buy (+oil change of course)
-Honda S2000 '06 - SH
-Mazda Roadster (NC) '07 - SS

I'm thinking we can add more cars to the roster and alternate them from week to week so we have more options. The '07 Mazda Roadster is to match with the Eunos and the Honda S2000 to go with the Toyobaru.

We just did a race with five drivers at Apricot Hill Raceway and the boost works well. 10 minute races. Come on down to ol' Pengy's Testing Chorale!
