I just will never get used to the sound, and when I do, the next combo I accidently shortshift too. :/
Yeah, the sound really bothers me too. But you can't argue with results...

I saw it make a big difference on the run uphill to the left hander before the corkscrew. I shifted at 7000 while Singlepaddy was still in 3rd and I got almost half a car length on him before having to back out for the turn.I totally agree with what @chatva pointed out. I noticed the biggest advantage in acceleration on the run uphill to the corkscrew. All about dat torque.

You have no control over that...and neither do ISo long as the second personality isn't Mr. Hyde.

@nmcp1, it's been an hour without a welcome post. Are you ok? Do we need to call search and rescue??
Don't you get doubletime $hells for doing SNAIL biz while responding to family emergencies?Bit of a family emergency. Had to take a run into Queens.... GWB at 5.... on a Friday..no fun!

really?Torque peaks at 4,500. @chatva you will bog at 7,500 uphill because you HP peaked at 5,800 and your torque long before that. While HP doesn't drop drastically after 5,800 it does drop. I'm guessing the trick will be to use as much of the powerband as you can (4,500-5,800) and going a little over can help maintain a higher overall average HP during your acceleration.
The old speed test track in GT5 was perfect for establishing shift points.
Do a few laps shifting at 6,000-6,250 and see what happens I guess.really?

Dude I saw in my mirror what happened for a minute! then they where gone!Do a few laps shifting at 6,000-6,250 and see what happens I guess.
Isn't that what he was trying to say? That's what I was trying to say. Maybe I misread his post, but I thought he was suggesting that the advantage is to shift early going uphill to stay with the best range for torque, but that might not necessarily be quite as advantageous going downhill.

I'm saying to try shifting even sooner.
you goanna feed me some crow! tonight?Do a few laps shifting at 6,000-6,250 and see what happens I guess.
