Thursday practice should be done the way it will be on Sunday night. Otherwise, you're just allowing a crutch to be where it isn't needed. BS between races. Mute your mic during. Make your apologies with your car during a race and your mouth or fingers between them. The only noise folks should hear, during a race or qualifying session, is the scream of tires and the groan of motors.

You just got fixted by someone who speaks Portuguese as a primary language ;)

Not sure what he means by adding the word "their". If he means a driver's own motor and tires, then he didn't fix it. If he means it in the sense of a driver's opponent's tires and motor, then he still didn't fix it. Since one of the main goals of SNAIL is to promote close racing, even if only between 2 cars, what a person should hear while racing Sunday is the noise of motors and tires, in front, behind and beside them, as well as their own. Whether those tires and motors are screaming and groaning is really at the mercy of the folks using them.

What they should not be hearing is burps, farts, bonks, clicks, or anything else not generated by the in-game sounds they would hear when playing in offline mode.

Again, while qualifying or racing, make your apologies for mistakes with your car. If you feel the need to apologize further, wait for that time between to verbally or textually apologize.

Mute your mics or shut them off entirely during active racing.

Who runs the SNAIL club page in GT6 community?

the question should be who runs the snail club page in gt planet, because it is more than just gt6 as it soon will include gt7, comments?

I think he meant what he said - the SNAIL [Spec] Racing Club in GT6 Community

You're kidding right? GT7 will be out by winter. It will have 2100 japanese cars, one Viper and 5 tracks. The rest will be DLC.... maybe.

My GT7 predictions......

Release 2nd quarter 2017 or maybe somehow in late 16'. Will only be 2/3rds complete.

But It will be the the game that changes everything....the game that silences the haters & converts the non-believers

I expect no less from Kazunori San and Co & believe me, they will not disappoint.

Think back....to a time long ago,
when we made the jump from GT4 to GT5.

Nope, not kidding. They will announce it E3 next year. Give it a release date of Christmas, then delay it to spring of 17. then delay it again to fall and it will finally release around American Thanksgiving. With of course, only half the features.

I wouldn't argue that at all. I think these gaming companies will continue to push the envelope of how unfinished a game can be at release and still sell. It's going to get absurd quickly. Personally, I think it already is.

I suspect I might end up giving in and turn to PC.

Meaning I want to hear the sounds of the cars and engines (including those around me) from MY speakers/ headset, not the sounds of others and their booming surround sound systems coming through their un-muted mics. It's really annoying to hear what sounds like a screeching car out of control only to realize that it's happening no where near you on track. :banghead:

I guess you could call it primary just for the fact that I was born there, but I've been working on my ESL skills for over 38 years now..... :D

Now stop your trolling and get back to Sundays!

My entire post was sarcastic though, but yes that's all possible, but I'm not sure how probable. I think Kaz knows that if they wait 2 years, whilst the next gen system games continue to improve, he's going to lose market share in this game. PD needs another "prelude".

I would like to join this group. I had a good time at practice with you guys last night.

My user name is wjthomasiii but I sometimes also use alnavas if I'm streaming Netflix at the house. Thanks!

@JThomas

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Seems there was some excitement at Lime Rock last night, @CoachMK21

Fire, rescue, 2 helicopters, ambulances, police... And the track was closed at the time the excitement went down...

http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/what-the-hell-happened-at-lime-rock-park-last-night-1725310277

Rumors of stolen and raced Skip Barber cars, or karts... Hopefully nothing to stop your event.

Thanks for sharing that. Sounds like a few teens got more than what they bargained for. Dummies. Racing today went fine for those that finished.

I'll be there Saturday afternoon after the circus is over running with EMRA. Tomorrow may be a bit of a washout if the forecast holds.

We'll probably be at the park until 3 on Saturday. If you get in before that come find us. We are at the far end of the paddock area, nearest to turn 1.

I don't see the chicane being put to use... Make sure the wheel's straight after west bend!

Always wanted to race there, have fun!

That's correct, no chicane. I've walked the track already and watched enough YouTube videos to know about the dangers of West bend. I'll be sure to keep it straight up the hill. Thanks.

I'm optimistic that now that PD doesn't have to deal with the weirdness that is the PS3, they can develop the game faster.
My opinions on GT7 release are conflicting. To start, PD has a reputation for taking far too long to develop the next generation game. That's a proven history, and companies often can be predicted based on previous actions.

But when you look at the current situation from a pure business perspective, PD stands nothing to gain by dragging it's feet on this one. A few points I've thought of:

* GranTurismo is Sony's #1 selling (exclusive) game. This in itself drives sales of consoles. Sony has been fortunate to not have to lower the sale price of the PS4 yet, despite XBox dropping their price by $50. (PS4 is still owning XBox in sales.) I think Sony would want GT7 released before they drop the console price, which I would anticipate to be around Christmas of 2017.

* The new console should give them them greater ability to program things that the PS3 console was limiting or restricting. This should result in less compromises from the creator, which would hopefully mean fewer delays.

* Project Cars is a real threat to market share. GT enthusiasts have been very loyal, but that's because there hasn't been a legitimate threat in terms of competition. From what I've heard, PCars is pretty legit. I think this alone would speed up the release of GT7. I personally am growing bored of GT6 (outside of SNAIL of course) and am considering the PCars purchase.

* From the GT6 side, it seems like development has just halted. Last Christmas we got some cool challenges. We've had some new tracks added, and the Sierra challenges were cool additions, but lately... nothing. We get Vision cars that have been in the works for a long time, and some cheesy, repetitious Seasonals every week that don't even seem that well thought out. I think all PD hands are now on the GT7 deck.

These are just my opinions, and I take no responsibility for their accuracy. :D

The one thing I would also like to add to this, consider that PD has been programming on Sony's proprietary language for over 15 years now. While most languages only really vary much in syntax, there will still be a learning curve to tackle if they have not been coding in other languages.

I think if PD doesn't get GT7 out for Christmas 2016 they will be in serious trouble...and I think they know that.

Four months from first game trailer to release? That just isn't PD's method of operation.

Take it with as big a grain of salt as you need, but Kaz did say recently that there would be one more update to GT6 and it would contain the track creator. I expect that later this year, possibly before the PlayStation event in early December. If that is the case, I would expect the first teaser / trailer for GT7 at that event. That would put us more in line with a PD time frame for a November 2017 release.

That's all a guess based on what I have seen recently and the pattern of behavior from PD over the years.

I would also take a guess that GT7 and the PS4 will be the engine and platform next year's GT Academy will run on. That might be wishful thinking however.

If they don't have the time to release GT7 by next year for GT Academy's TTs, they can make a seperate game like in 2012 and 2013, but still have GT7's physics model and they will only have to port 4 tracks and 4 cars.

I would expect that to be a demo more or less. It's been done before as a demo of GT5 after the prologue was out. They could always go the way of the prologue as well or they could use a free demo to pump up the numbers in the qualifying round.
