Hows the practice going Tom? I did a couple stints yesterday to gauge my tire wear and laptimes. About 50 laps or so total.

I've done around the same amount of laps but seems its a lower priority for now. Once official combos are announced i spend of majority of time practicing for Sunday. Depending how slow things develop this week, i may open a room tomorrow night for practicing the enduro. Still need to figure gas consumption / tire wear. It would be nice to have multiple cars and divisions to see how the HP differences play out. Also, even though i'm watching that thread i don't get alerts when it's updated. i have some catching up to do:)

There really hasn't been a ton of chatter outside of who's signed up

I could join the room tomorrow , I've yet to do a lap:ill: but some might know that's pretty normal for me and enduro races. Use the qualifier on race night to work out fuel and strategy lol

Yeah Yeah...I know its not a pack racing car....but it is a pack racer.....in his day car.
Boy is he fun to race with...Normal start time....the track tonight is still a mystery....but IT WILL NOT BE the RING....been there...done that....recently.

I'd like to enter a SNAIL Race Team in the Core FGT Championship and need a teammate. Anyone interested? We would be up against drivers like Immortalpilot and DrAug.

Six weeks of IR free racing, it's gonna be tough. I know I will be on the hunt in future races and someone better not make any rule infractions. Just call me "little brother". And I will be watching. :odd:👍

I can't wait to see this, and I am sure you will succeed. Rock on, Mike.

...Strange Brew voice interlude...

"So, eh... like, this means you're goin' out ter buy a bran' new took, a pair a' bobby socks and workin' glasses, eh?"

End Bob & Doug moment...

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Ferrari California '08 (Sports: Soft) at Twin Ring Motegi East Course (8 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @kickenit4evr wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA '05 (Sports: Medium) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (7 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @Drewspeed gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @pakicote so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Here is my full 60 minute session from Saturday at Lime Rock Park. The camera is shaking WAY more than I'd like, sorry about that. I'll have to assess the set up before we race again. I'll have a 7 lap sequence uploaded in the morning. If you want to just check out some cool segments, skip to:

3:15 - 3 wide into the up hill
5:20-6:00 - CRX into the wall on the left & some good pack racing
19:45 - The car that went off (to the right), left some slick stuff on the track
37:30 - BMW & CRX get together (I don't think an IR was filed)
47:05 - Coming up to a crash before the uphill

Currently tracking 19 Incident Reports

The Prize A winner is cleared to make their selection.

There are incidents being investigated by the stewards that may effect the Prize B & C winners. They are asked to refrain from making their selections until the stewards can review and clear those investigations.

The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.

:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.

The IR Submission Form is now closed.

The car may stay, we don't know yet. It's at least good to know the car better just in case.
True, true. However, Laguna Seca and the gearing of the Subaru went surprisingly well together and that coupled with the fact that I'm not one to ever use AWD in the game inevitably makes me want to lean towards the course sticking around rather than the car. Something MR and prone to oversteer would be nice. :)

My best 7 lap sequence from Saturday at Lime Rock Park. Check out the sticker on the front roll bar :)

Laps are:
1:09.673
1:09.618
1:09.341
1:10.553
1:08.768
1:08.822
1:08.984

Nice job coach. Wonder if the pucker factor increased when you had that split second to decide how much correction in steering you needed coming out of the left hander headed back up the hill.

37:30 - something is wrong with this replay, I can't change driver to get a better look...
Also, I don't think the CRX Driver read TEX's post ... he was "That guy"

Regarding the Subaru Imprezza:
(hope this hasn't already been discussed)

Just because it is 4WD and keeps going thru the sand - does not mean that, if you get all 4 wheels off the track, you can keep powering your way back on to the track.

Particularly if there are cars following you.
Slow down - "take your medicine" for the mistake and re-enter when you will not be in the way of someone else.

Imagine how loudly you would file the IR, if someone came off the sand/shoulder and got into your Racing Line.

Remember the "Why" we are all in Snail - to race cleanly, respectfully, and to enjoy the evening's competition.

Your "paycheck" after the race does not have more $$$ in it, just for winning or being in front of the next guy.

"Don't Be That Guy"

That wasn't too bad. There were other times through that uphill section that were more scary. Like anytime you got part of the curb. They were raised and nasty on that section and the one at the bottom of the fast downhill. The moment when I was 3 wide heading into that uphill was more intense. I didn't think that was possible there.

Saturday was a good race session for me. Friday was terrible. I hadn't raced there before and only had watched YouTube videos and read some write ups to prepare (I don't have iRacing, so that wasn't an option). I was inconsistent and slow with a best lap of 1:10.000. I also took the run off at West Bend twice, losing lots of time and places both times. I watched some video and talked with my brother and Don Friday night and Saturday morning about some changes I can make and it worked out much better on Saturday.

Real racing is just like Virtual Racing, in that if you don't prepare with real racing (or as real as GT6 can get), then you will struggle until you figure it out from experiencing it.
