Anyone streaming the races tonight? Since I can't be home to actually participate I need to get my fix remotely! :guilty:

It would appear you're a bit late to the party. This is, essentially, the general discussion thread now. Everything that's "needed" for Snails to know has been moved to several stickied threads, which can be reached by the simple URL www.gtplanet.net/snail. Other threads have been created by a few others for various other purposes and can be reached using that same URL. All threads pop to the top of their section, sticky and non-sticky, as new posts are added. We're still working out the kinks in using our new forum section. It's always possible things can change in how it's used.

Using the www.gtplanet.net/snail URL as a favorite or bookmark, you could "Unwatch" every SNAIL thread that sits under it. Log in to GTPlanet, click the favorite or bookmark or whatever you've got saved as, and check out whichever's at the top and/or in bold typeface.
i still think I'm early to the party. This thread still has combos listed, combo votes and discussions, results, general discussion etc.

This thread basically has it ALL. And there are other threads which accomplish redundancy on certain topics already posted in this thread.

Just a thought. My experiences on a forum pre-dating the GTP had excellent separation of topics so the actual subject didn't get bogged in BS.

This thread is an essential historical record. Different things may get spun off, now, and in the future but, this thread will always be around and should be used.

We all had issues this time.. It's a 24 hour race.. That's a long time..
Don't carry that on yourself Buddy.. My tech problems didn't help either..
If we were 3rd, it's because you got us there..
Sweet pix..Tex....Tex and I double stinted in the dark last night. A stint was three 55 minute 6 lap runs....I was knackered after the first triple and wanted to shorten the second one to "just" a double....but Tex.....chief team good guy and passible driver ...said he'd stand by in the lobby JUST IN CASE . His presence alone gave me second third fourth etc wind....as the sun came up and lit the clouds I just smiled. Then messenger "dinged"...and as I hit the long straight. I checked my phone....on it was

YOU ARE NOT ALONE
READY FOR DC WHEN YOU ARE

Thanks Bud...

My brother had a near miss at Lime Rock yesterday. Here is the in car video, as well as the video I took from my phone. I just happened to be there at the "right" time. More video's to come as I get through the raw stuff.

Nooo don't slam the brakes! Hope everything went well afterwards...
A motorsports thread would be awesome, considering how many members we have that run in events and races.
Speaking of which, got to race with the big boys today and was hounding their gearboxes (literally, pushed a guy out of gear with my nose lol) and managed a 1:18.604 with inferior equipment. Don't have any video because the camera was set up wrong... But I can assure you that I led both races for at least half a lap! ...I swear! ;)

Division 6 Race Report
Congratulations to all of the winners tonight. Great battles back and forth all night. Thank you stewards, race recorders/uploaders, replay recorders/uploaders, score keepers in each division for a job well done.

Till Next Sunday, Race Clean, Race Snail, always a pleasure. 👍 :gtpflag:

Sorry for the extra post, a very nice man, family friend, and long time racing photographer took this picture from the weekend. Coming through Turn 7b with two wheels in the air!

Had a dismal (all of my own making) but fun night racing tonight.
But there are a couple of instances that I am particularly proud of.
Going up the hill at Laguna Seca to the corkscrew I ended up in the sand. My first instinct was to plow through it as fast as possible and get back on track. Then I remembered @TEX36 post from earlier in the night..."don't be that guy" I believe it was. So I checked up instead. I lost about 6 positions but I'm glad I did the right thing...so thanks Tex. 👍

The second instance was the start at Motegi. Going into the hairpin at the end of the straight I went in waaaaay too hot....I new if I tried to keep it on track I would plow into the back of a bunch of cars and ruin someone's race. So I decided to take evasive action and beach the car instead... Again losing a lot of positions but at least doing the right thing.

Pretty sad when that's the highlight of my night but I have to say I felt good to be not "that guy" thank you very much. Isn't that why we all joined this league?

I was with you, @singlepaddy - I generally did terribly, and only had a single race where I wasn't in the 'Under-Podium' I think. Hurricane Handlebar was whipping up curliques of craptacular cornering in almost all races.

I saw many instances of many drivers giving a concession if they thought something could have been their fault, and drivers showing a lot of patience when passing the guys having an off night.

If @McTrucker had been consistent... Or when he gets there.... Zoooooom!

And on that bombshell... G'Night!
