You can't tune anything, at all.We can't adjust gear ratios? Just making sure.
Well, we were in good position until I took over at my second 3hour stint. Still shown in 3rd place in class, but will surly change due to my disconnect.
I know the feeling!Got it. I'm spec and slow compared to the times I'm seeing. In my mind it was my cars fault. Lol unfortunately it's my fault.
I'd like to join SNAIL.

So if I go off I should let off the gas and rejoin the track when not in the way of others and then rejoin the racing line when I'm back up to speed?Regarding the Subaru Imprezza:
(hope this hasn't already been discussed)
Just because it is 4WD and keeps going thru the sand - does not mean that, if you get all 4 wheels off the track, you can keep powering your way back on to the track.
Particularly if there are cars following you.
Slow down - "take your medicine" for the mistake and re-enter when you will not be in the way of someone else.
Imagine how loudly you would file the IR, if someone came off the sand/shoulder and got into your Racing Line.
Remember the "Why" we are all in Snail - to race cleanly, respectfully, and to enjoy the evening's competition.
Your "paycheck" after the race does not have more $$$ in it, just for winning or being in front of the next guy.
"Don't Be That Guy"
Yes penguin that is the proper way to race. You don't get on the Highway in front of a semi that is doing 100km/h while your doing 60 km/h do you?So if I go off I should let off the gas and rejoin the track when not in the way of others and then rejoin the racing line when I'm back up to speed?
My brother had a near miss at Lime Rock yesterday. Here is the in car video, as well as the video I took from my phone. I just happened to be there at the "right" time. More video's to come as I get through the raw stuff.

My irony meter goes to 11.

It would appear you're a bit late to the party. This is, essentially, the general discussion thread now. Everything that's "needed" for Snails to know has been moved to several stickied threads, which can be reached by the simple URL www.gtplanet.net/snail. Other threads have been created by a few others for various other purposes and can be reached using that same URL. All threads pop to the top of their section, sticky and non-sticky, as new posts are added. We're still working out the kinks in using our new forum section. It's always possible things can change in how it's used. Now that Snail has its own mini forum you guys still need to thin the BS out of the main thread so the info is easier to find.
I still (and have always) suggest a thread for just BSing and small talk...maybe call it the Pit Stop. And maybe a thread where members can discuss real life racing and real car news etc.
This would thin out about 90 percent of the excess posts in this thread.
Yep.Am I free to start a thread to help drivers get quicker? It would be a spin off of my old thread when I was actually slower than I am today.
It would be a place where D1 drivers could add their tips for practice, speed and combos.
