Division 7 Racing Report

9 racers showed up tonight but we lost 1 due to connection issues. For the last season race we had a blast of good races, door to door scenes and FUN, congrats to @Drewspeed for the night win 👍 , well done! Our newvenue also did well for the first races. Thanks to all the guys who took over the duties and make the division roll all over August: Poly, pub, DC :bowdown:and the backups, as our admins and stewards!! Looking forward to next season :) !!!
 :gtpflag: Race Fast, Race Clean, Race SNAIL :gtpflag:

Had a dismal (all of my own making) but fun night racing tonight.
But there are a couple of instances that I am particularly proud of.
Going up the hill at Laguna Seca to the corkscrew I ended up in the sand. My first instinct was to plow through it as fast as possible and get back on track. Then I remembered @TEX36 post from earlier in the night..."don't be that guy" I believe it was. So I checked up instead. I lost about 6 positions but I'm glad I did the right thing...so thanks Tex. 👍

The second instance was the start at Motegi. Going into the hairpin at the end of the straight I went in waaaaay too hot....I new if I tried to keep it on track I would plow into the back of a bunch of cars and ruin someone's race. So I decided to take evasive action and beach the car instead... Again losing a lot of positions but at least doing the right thing.

Pretty sad when that's the highlight of my night but I have to say I felt good to be not "that guy" thank you very much. Isn't that why we all joined this league?

I feel your pain @singlepaddy. I was in first place at Laguna and visited the beach after the cork screw. Sitting there and waiting for the train to go by is painful! At least I waved at y'all when you went by.....nobody waved back at me :(

What a great night in D4! Had a lot of fun and we had quite the close night. The point spread was thin and nearly everyone had at least one podium finish. Seems most of us had a great time. I am sure a picture wall will follow soon, and I am going to try and get some video and make a highlights reel of some of the better battles and the soon to be infamous wall banger experience in round 3.

Posted a lot of old photos over on the media thread if anyone wants to check them out.

Most are from past SNAIL Sunday night races but some are from the old DTC series when it was affiliated with Snail. And some are from Grim's RACE series on Wednesday nights.

All my old running buddies can be found in there ;)

My brother had a near miss at Lime Rock yesterday. Here is the in car video, as well as the video I took from my phone. I just happened to be there at the "right" time. More video's to come as I get through the raw stuff.

Our schedule was so condensed with the abbreviated day that I never got a chance to stop by and see you folks. I was in the Bright Blue Civic with the Tire Rack windscreen banner. I've got pictures somewhere but I'm at work at the moment and they aren't with me.

Well, I broke down and bought a T300 from Costco online in Canada. 419 in Can dollars, which is about 24.95 American. Good deal for up here. With sales tax it was 470. Just waiting for it to show up, also waiting for the adaptor to run my G27 pedals.

I missed my first race in months last night due to a trip down memory lane at the Motley Crue concert in Ottawa last night. Meh, it was alright if you like pyro and lots of ear damaging big bangs, yes I had my earplugs in. I thought Alice Cooper stole the show. Nita Strauss on guitar, man, can that woman shred. Check her out on You Tube.

Also informed I am on the LCL. I thought Chat could use some company. Six weeks of IR free racing, it's gonna be tough. I know I will be on the hunt in future races and someone better not make any rule infractions. Just call me "little brother". And I will be watching. :odd:👍

Monday Night Pack Racing........Tonight........ Be there or be square...... Only cool people allowed and a few old guys just to keep the fast guys humble. Wonder where we will end up tonight?

I saw Motley Crue about 12 years ago in Reno. First night of back to back shows for me as Nine Inch Nails was playing the next night so we saw both shows. Mick Mars could barely move around back then. Did they have to wheel him out strapped to a hand truck for this show or was he in better health?

Good for you Mike!

I was all about getting a wheel set, but I realized it won't get used for a while anyways until I build something to attach it to. So, I think I'm just gonna by a sim seat so I have some dimensions to work around for the design.

Let me know how you like the wheel once you get it. I am looking to upgrade in November, getting my own B-day gift... hehehehe.

If you signed up, raced, lost interest, might come back, or ....... want to get into some Mixed Divisional Races divided into Pro and Pro-Am Classes.

The Pro class which will be for the faster drivers and Pro-Am which will be for the slower of many people.
We will do this to get the variety in our series and have a bit of a challenge for the two classes.
If you are a part of SNAIL D1-D3 will race in the Pro class. D4-D7 will race in the Pro-Am class.

Go to the SNAIL Racing League page - find the above Link - and READ ALL ABOUT IT.
Hope the Fall Seasons bring back a lot of Veterans - and some interest from those who want to Check It Out.
