If you Google "Fort McMurray News" you will see that my town of approx. 60,000 people is on a mandatory evacuation due to wild fires. I'm sleeping in my office north of town tonight and my wife is with me. So, we are safe for now. But, for the next few days this forum and all of you wonderful snails will probably be low on my list of priorities.

I'll give and update from time to time if I can

Be safe!

Wow. The article states most fires are extinguished but hot spots can possibly flare up again due to the dry conditions. Stay safe Rednose and family!

"According to forestry manager Bernie Schmitte, the worst of the blaze is not over as a combination of high temperatures, low relative humidities and strong winds are expected throughout the day Wednesday."

HERE IT IS!!!!! The new PSEC app.

Since we run live weather for practices and the race(or as close as we can) We have a weather app directed at the location of the next race along with social wall special to the app. Scoring will be kept current on there as well as any photos that we get from the races.

I look forward to expanding this app I plan to link all YouTube accounts that stream live onboards so that you can watch the race from other drivers views plus highlights and news updates for the series will also be in future updates for the PSEC APP. It's free and has no ads. It doesn't even need to be downloaded just follow below for your device.

The list is missing a few neighbourhoods like abasand, beacon hill and a couple others which were completely destroyed by the fire.

Personally safe for now. Sitting in a worker's camp 20 km north of town. Enough food and water for now. Fire was passing on the northwest, but the wind has picked up and turned southwest. It's wait and see.

NASA Interactive Map

Great that you're safe. I can't believe some of the video that's been broadcast from the area. Any idea how it started?

Anyone heard from Rednose or MajorBlixen?
Haven't heard from Major at all but he's in Ontario with me, North bay I think. All we know of Rednose is from his report yesterday. Hope he is still safe.

From what I've seen today the fire has started heading south.

Any suggestions for a budget gaming chair that I can race in? Space is limited in our apartment so the girlfriend won't let me build an actual rig. Preferably under $150 and a solid base.
