Scores for May 22 have been pushed to Data and is ready for the Data Specialists

Things are quieting down and the damage will be assessed over the coming weeks. We are thankful that our house is standing. We will be able to do a preliminary inspection in the first week of June - we expect loss of power damage (mainly the fridge and freezer) and potential smoke damage.

The stats are that 2400 structures were incinerated or severely damaged - that's about 10% of the town. Apart from the trauma and personal loss for thousands of people, 10% doesn't seem to be such a big deal from a statistical point of view.

The attached video however, will indicate that the other 90% were saved by the fire fighters and especially the battle on the night and day of May 6 was crucial. Unmitigated, the loss would have been 90%. I big shout-out to the firefighters and rescue workers!

Had a blast in D1 tonight guys, my goal tonight was to not finish last and to not get involved in any accidents. I passed 👍
First 2 races went pretty smooth for me, but apricot hill hates me. I simply can't take corners as fast as everyone else due to this ds3 phenomenon I mentioned. Before starting R2 in 2nd place I warned everyone about it. I was quick enough to stay on pace for half the lap, and then slow enough for the other half to create this giant train of cars pictured below. Yep that's me as the conductor leading the pack of helpless souls in the background, as 1st 2nd and 3rd slowly pull away from us. I finally had enough and let everyone pass by me starting our 5th lap. So to you guys stuck in that mess, I apologize, I was doing everything I could to go as fast as I can. Once I have more space I'll buy myself a wheel and you'll never have to hear me whine about the ds3 again (thanks |||trick) looking forward to the next raceday already!

I like to join. Let me know what's up

@Philipharris3

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

It always amazes me sometimes that when the chips are down people will come together to persevere and carry on.
Heroes one and all the people that fought to save your town @Rednose58

That's great news and hopefully it will be uphill from here on out.
Glad that, in the end, it was less bad than what it appeared.
Obviously 10% sucks if you're in those 10, but I'm glad you and yours are OK.

And yes, firefighters are the awesomest people around. There isn't any way to properly thank them for what they do.

In car video and bumper cam from my fastest run yesterday. I love the speed the bumper cam shows.

I love how different camera positions can really change the playback experience. My recent vids were with the camera on the chin of my helmet. Using a wide angle really shows my hands which is critical for diagnosis. The only thing I don't like about wide is how exaggerated depth is in the center of the screen. Normal angle is much more natural looking I think. I really want to pick up another camera.
