small room but great racing from everyone,

Hope you feel better @singlepaddy
I'm really sorry for bailing on you guys, with me being the host and all. I was hoping I could soldier through it but racing with a migraine was not whole lot of fun..
Glad you all had a good night otherwise.
We'll try again next week.

The scores for July 31 have been pushed to data and is ready for the data specialists to do their thing.

Blah I missed racing last night. Replaced the rack and pinion in my buddy's Taurus and found out that, that is indeed zero fun and extremely labor intensive. We managed to do it without dropping the cradle or pulling the motor. It only took us 6 1/2 hours and cutting the pressure lines to get it done! Fun times on a hot summer day.

Hot summer day? I've had random torrential downpours the last three days. No idea what's gonna happen next. But I did just get a new beard brush & comb combo in the mail and it's so soft on my manly face hairs. Hmmm.... boar hair and a wooden comb, can't beat that! :D

I've heard duct tape works well. Seems like it was a funky night all around between your issues and Paddy and I not in full attendance.

With great beard comes great responsibility. We just had our morning rain, but it was a good heavy one that lasted ten minutes instead of two. Looks like it will be a wet day, and that's fine with me.

Sunny British Columbia... At least for now. Stuck at work all long weekend with this gorgeous weather is killing me! Oh well, next sat/sun is race day! Put new heads on old Gloria, sounds a little more tinny and poppy... Good signs that a vee has power, here's to hoping!

So I'm looking into the GT Eye to make my brake pedal less heavy. It goes a certain amount, and then I have to push excessively hard to get the full amount. So I'm doing research and reading the installation instructions. Then I come across this bit. It says the G29/G920 brake pedal comes fitted with a rubber insert, and using the insert with the GT Eye will yield firmer results or remove it for a lighter pedal. This got me thinking. Maybe I don't need the GT Eye at all. Can I just take that rubber insert out and the brake spring will still work but with a lighter feel?

My guess is you'll lose the graduated feel of the brake by removing the insert. Never hurts to just try it, pull it out and see how it feels.

Time for a project! After dinner.
God damnit... Brake pedal is fine, but now the accelrator is weird. In game it's like it's stuck on, but when I went to calibrate (in Project Cars), it's like it's not connected. Ugh... gotta open this whole thing up again... and I don't feel like dealing with that right now...

Edit: Went to start over and I think I accidentally stripped the allen wrench screws that take off the pedal faces. Does anyone know how to fix a stripped allen wrench screw?

when i take something like that apart i take many many pictures so i have something to reference when i put it back together. as for the screw, im guessing you used a size too small or the wrong tool to remove it in the first place. if you can get it out, dont put it back in so tight or youll make things worse and if you can, find a replacement screw.

I got it by going in at a slight angle.

This is really messed up. I never touched the gas pedal. The wires weren't pinched or anything. The pedal is as far as up/depressed as possible. This is an electrical problem and I have no idea what to do. This is not good...

Edit. I was able to see a spot on the wire that looked weird and sure enough it was pinched. I used pliers to peel off some of the casing and one of the wires was sticking out a bit. So I pulled a bit more out and tried to connect the inside and while holding that, test to see if it works in the PS3 menus. It did! So I have to find a way to reconnect this wire and close it all up again.

I didn't even twist the wires together. Not enough came out when I stripped the casing on that tiny bugger. So I put them as close together as I could, wrapped the thing in electrical tape and it's holding.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Peugeot 908 HDi FAP Base Model '10 (Racing: Medium) at Autodromo Nazionale Monza (7 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @MikeGrove wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - SRT Viper GTS '02 (Sports: Soft) at Grand Valley East / Reverse (10 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @brian540 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @SAMHAIN85 so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.
