EDIT - I see the problem. the time in the google sheet is entered as 46.218. My macro needs 0:46.218.... easy to fix

Exactly. G29 is budget quality but you know it will last. Thrustmaster is a bit better but their support issues are well known by though so there's a risk involved. Fanatec is the best of both worlds but is more expensive than both.

I too jumped from DFGT to G29 and the difference is well worth it. I'm sure the Fanatec will feel even better but I just don't have the money to commit to something like that. The added shifter is also a great dynamic when driving classic cars. I've really learned to enjoy the nuances of RPM.

Note of caution: I got my G29 at Best Buy and got the Geek Squad protection.... I killed a Penguin with it and did not survive ...

the motor started going away.

. but the GS protection came in handy and they just replaced it. Suffered similar issues with the G27 but I think is because I use very strong Force Feedback.

In my opinion no one should be tuning anything. The whole point of SNAIL is that it is spec racing.

Well, after deciding to bite the bullet and buy the Fanatec setup from their website a few minutes ago, I was excited to finally crack open my wallet.....I go to pay and check shipping..........345$ American to ship? I don't thinks so Tim. Looks like the T300 will be beat up for a little while longer.

975$ American for the V-3 pedals, CSL wheel and H shifter. Not bad. I can handle that.

After Exchange for Canadian Tire money, my wallet will be out almost 2K Canadian. FMLITASS.

My T has been taking a licking for about 2.5 years now without issue. I am very hard on it, FFB always turned up high. It does get warm, so I started cooling it with an external fan, runs cool as a cucumber now.

I really want that Fanatec though.

If you tune you might become faster and move up in divisions. Heck, you might even make it to Div 1 and race the Snaliens who are fast without tuning. In a few weeks when Kamakazi brings back the no-tuning option we will implement that immediately.

The person that reached the higher divisions by tuning might feel a little out of place when tuning is prohibited again......

We can, but at the moment, it's in the same boat as every other aspect of tuning. Until we can do something about, it's all gentleman's agreement.
I know historically, the bottom division or two were allowed to run ABS. I would argue that in the spirit of not tuning, abs in modern cars should probably not be touched, but that's just me.

Everyone is, and always has been, allowed ABS. TC and the driving line are allowed in the lowest division.

Dark here on GTP .. or in PS4? I am a purist in photography... try to do minimal editing. Manipulating camera controls only. However, GT Sport did not fix GT6 'darkness'. I use the EV control setting in the game to make shots brighter.

Once I upload them to Flickr or Google Photos I only edit 'Brightness, Contrast, Exposure' which are controls you can use in the 'dark room'. May use a bit of saturation to make it pop just a bit.

There is one in your flikr album with a lexus race car, the brightness of that photo is similar to mine whereas the others are darker. Just was curious if you set particular filters for the lower light.

I am torn as well. I was going to go with the g29, since I already have a shifter that I've cracked open. But...
I recommend the Thrustmaster t500, or fanatec CSL, those are the two I am going to be flipping a coin over.

Easy experiment. Go to scapes and go to the museum outside... BRIGHT DAY... when you place the cars... it becomes 'dark'.

New York still picture is at 'dusk'. Pictures during racing always become darker than they should be. Even on the side lit by the sun... you get very weird shadows.

.. and while you can get away with it on some shots.... using EV kills it in shots like this that the light source is way over exposed and you cannot still see the green on the Porsches.

no, not at those insane shipping prices! The Thrustmaster T GT is currently hovering at 799 usd, so that one is off my radar too. I'm thinking of going the same route as Bowler. Gettiing a Thrustmaster wheel base and a rimotech adapter.

Good practice being around other cars - passing and dodging them.
