So far we have:

-Hard Charger
-Cleanest racer(SNAILs gentlemen’s award
-Oops Moment/Biggest Loser
-Wrong place at the wrong time award

Hard charger would be a difficult one, simply because I’d like to do reverse grids after the 1st race.

Cleanest racer would be a fun one, (Tex).

I put Oops and biggest loser together because it can be the same thing.

The last one pretty much explains itself.

We switched back to all being in the same car so we can avoid awkward situations like this.

GT Sport Update Tonight

I disagree. You did pay for this product and the future content right? You should be able to dictate it.

If it were free-to-play i wouldn't really have an argument, but my real beef is with the game having 8 GTRs.
@abm89 i respectfully disagree. Think about most other games. They make you pay for additional content if you should want it. While you are correct in that we paid for the original release content, they (PD) are under no obligation to continue to provide free content.
No game is “free to play” anymore, at least online. You have to pay for your PS4 subscription right? It used to be free to play, back in the day, but I digress. I’m not sure if PC2, Race Room, IRacing or Assetto Corso offer free content, let alone every month. I look at it this way, yes I paid the $70.00 for the game, but I also don’t “expect” anything else from PD. I am grateful for any and all free content, no matter what it is because it is exactly that, free. I would love to see more tracks than cars at this point, but again, free is free. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth eh?

To pick apart a few points you made:

When PD releases that they will make additional content to the game when they launch it (free of charge) I consider that included in the original game purchase. More like a certain service agreement where you play the game and they provide updates and more content (like the Windows OS for example). So i'm comfortable in saying that some of us here bought the came with expectations on future content. If they were going to give it to us out of being "charitable", they would not have announced it as a part of their initial product release.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is going the same direction, albeit more extreme with offering limited content and then expanding. The difference is only that they will have an increasing pricing model for late adopters, but it is the same situation. You buy the game with one car for $25 dollars, but you have expectations that the developer will release certain content in the future.

On the note of expectations, if we do not have expectations of a developer, where is the incentive to make a good product. So to say that we should be satisfied because free is free is going in the wrong direction (because it wasn't free). Complacency breeds mediocrity. Mediocrity gets you where Need For Speed went. Customers will (should) drive product development.

Free to play games do exist, and the PlayStation plus example does not fit this situation as you are paying for a subscription to the console manufacturer to use their services and pay for their overhead, not the game developer. (we'll exclude this in the argument).

[sorry was proofreading this so the reponse took a while]

No where in the original release statement do I see any promise of free content update. Perhaps I am just overlooking it?
This is the only racing game currently available that affords free updates to its paid audience. Could that be because they felt the product was unfinished at launch?
Look, both of us have our points, views and opinions. That is what makes America great.
Speaking of that, all US citizens should get out to vote tomorrow and let your voice be heard.

Ahem, I am Texan... Not American. I'm offended.

edit: back at a computer and found this which has a link to the creator's twitter mentioning DLC.

They way i see it, Gran Turismo is the ONLY game that offers free DLC. Everyone else keeps fleecing their customers with season passes and paid content. If you don’t like what they are providing that’s fine. I don’t like the price tags on some of these cars and I am not grinding for weeks to buy one car. I’ll just never have those multi million dollar cars I guess. But I’ll take Gran Turismo’s DLC model over any other game. I refuse to buy DLC so I just have the basic content for PCars and AC and that’s all I’ll ever have. At least you have multiple games to choose from. Right now is THE best time to be a sim racer ever!

I don't mind the free stuff but certainly would pay money for some genuinely new content.

As I say that I know Barcelona-Catalunya is this month and that's a really rare thing to see PD do.

Monza, LeMans, Fuji, St Croix, Gardens, and I may be missing others.

They've consistently released new tracks.

Room is now open:

0475-4286-7971-9186-9508

The plan is 3-lap sprints until 9:30 EST, when we’ll start a 50-minute practice race.

Sorry, I was talking about real world tracks. That fake stuff I really couldn't care less about. Monza, Le Sarthe, and Fuji were already in GT6. I'm talking actually new to the series content. That is something we don't get as often. It's mostly GT6 remastered content

What i like about PD is that they don't expect customers to shell out extra cash for season passes and not make it feel like the players have to be forced to buy additional stuff through paid DLC. Project Cars 2 required a season pass in order to get the extra content down the line. I like that PD doesn't require players to shell out extra cash for the game through additional DLC. It shows that PD is appreciative of it's fan base by releasing content for free. The game is finished but the way PD does it is that it releases the extra content so that the replay value stays in the game until the next GT comes out.
