Edit: School has been cancelled due an outbreak of Bowl Fever. :) Lobby closed.

I have read the first post and would like to join. I heard about Snail from finding it on this forum looking for a GT Sport league to join.
@ruggermole

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, Rednose58, MajorBlixem, SAMHAIN85, llNovall & Akzl298
as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

With that lap time, do you think those heat shields will be needed for entry to a Snail lobby atmosphere? I mean it looks like a rocket....
i thought so too

Don't get your hopes up for the release, clearly this seems like a special project on the side. From the footage already released, AI seems a bit improved but not that much.

But this shows the potential of AI maybe in a future update or a full blown game. We could have great racing in single player maybe with a qualifier that analyses your driving and sets the AI accordingly and not to the Sophy level that beats the world's best drivers.

Either way, this looks promising for the future where the robot overlords beats the crap out of us at GT.

F1 DD1 owners, I gave up on QR2. Received my aftermarket part for my DD1 yesterday from racesims.uk. It’s promoted as zero wobble and reduced distance between DD and steering wheel. Definite improvement! So, in addition to eliminating slop, it gets me 3cm closer to my TV for better FoV.

Is that the new wheel they just released?
Not new wheel. Its a new stem for Fanatec hubs with QR1 (quick release).
I have the Z ring on mine. Virtually no slop and I can disconnect the wheel without it getting stuck.
I have a Z-ring sitting on my desk but haven’t used it. Never had an issue with the stock setup with exception that it is very long. The Bowtech solution combines the Z-ring solution with shortening the overall length. The diameter of the bowtech has tighter tolerance from stem to hub (0.2 mm).
Since replacing, I see that the original stem has much of the gold coating flaking off. It also wore the inside of the podium hub that I use most.

I am just catching up on these latest posts. Very interesting. I still use the F1 Rim. Soon enough I need to re-open an old ticket with Fanatec to send the original rim in for RMA before my 3 year warranty is up. I have some minor cracks in the plastic on the top edge above the grips on both sides.

I want to get a new rim before I send in my rim, so this is cool to see your experiences.

A couple of questions:

What does the character "^" mean in the lobby chat?
How is the order of combos determined? Why is the Fairlady Z, 310 hp, ahead of the RX500, 247 hp?

Just trying to improve my practice hosting skills.

I always thought it was in order:-

New combo
Mixed combo
Existing combo

🤷

Any practice this evening happening Mr C?

We need some context.

Usually its a quick way to express agreement of something, at least from my experience.

For example:

Harry_Rowley10: Cano you're a great host!
SAMHAIN85: ^

I guess its similar to posting this if we had emojis in chat: 👆

The order is determined as follows:
1. By tire type (low performance to high performance tires)
2. If tires are the same we use a performance factor (PF) where the lower PF will be ahead of the higher PF

The PF is determined by a (controversial) formula taking HP and weight into account.

For this week the PF for the Subie is 13.9 and for the Honda it's 24.9
QFT (Quoted for truth)
+1

2 other ways to express "^" that you'll find used in forums from time to time

Buyer Beware

3rd Logitech wheel that goes Kaput since I started with Snail back in the day. My 1st G27 wheel had the exact same issue that this newer G29 has, a lose hub. did not affect game play at the beginning... until it did.

Just gather enough strength to put up with Logitech Support which makes you jump through hoops.

I posted the video to YouTube.. and it got rejected as I do not use G Drive and was accused of editing the video.

As an added note, I do like other Logitech products, as I have some other gadgets that I really like and the reason why I had hopes with the new version...... well I was wrong.... it is the same G29 with the added drivers for PS5; so for the price it is not worth it at all. Sending it back and just gathering enough strength to go Fanatec.

This is Jam from the gaming team.

As part of validation, we need you to send us a video confirming the issue.

-- Video of the issue:
1. Record a video that shows the issue.
2. After recording the issue, focus the camera on serial number on the device
3. After the issue and serial number is visible on the video, write down the ticket number "8439114" on a piece of paper and include this also on the video.
4. Then please upload the video on Google Drive and send us the public link here.

To upload a video recording to Google Drive please follow the instructions from Google Support, here. Once you have uploaded the video, please follow the instructions to ensure we will be able to access the file:

  1. Open Google Drive and locate your video file
  2. Highlight the file and right click to view the options for the file
  3. Select “Get Link”
  4. Update the permissions to “Anyone on the internet with the link can view”

By updating this setting, only those who you have shared the link with will be able to access the file.

For future reference, your ticket number for this issue is 8439xxx and you can reference it should you have any further questions regarding this case.

Best regards,
Logitech Customer Support
