Triple post...I am such a loser.

Short story...

I see that the 911 GT1 Street car is in the game. When I worked at a local Porsche dealer as a service writer years ago, we had a customer (obviously filthy rich) who had recently purchased one from an auction in Monaco I believe. He had paid reportedly over 2mil for it, only 17 made in the world. Well he had it brought to our shop because he wanted the OEM anti-theft system disabled because he was old (like 70's) and didn't want to fiddle with it. Porsche sent the head honcho North American service guy down to oversee the situation. I actually got to drive it (pulling it around the parking lot...whoohoo)! While it was in the shop I took some pics. Secret info...shhh don't tell anyone...when it was in the shop, you know the lifts with the 4 pull away supports with pads? You swing them under the car, then raise and lower the car, then swing the arms away so you can drive it out? Well, while the car was on the ground the technician stepped on one of the arms and lost his balance and the arm swung into the car and hit the painted part of the car below the driver door entry step. Took out a chip of paint about the size of a shelled sunflower seed. Jeezus the entire place about had a **** fit. They had to call in a paint expert to fix it.

Coolest damn car I've ever seen.

Gotta say I am disappointed in the track count. They really only added a few of the old tracks. I was hoping for a lot more. So many great ones. And they could have dropped a few current ones off if you ask me. I hope they plan to add more tracks and cars via updates in the future.
I was thinking that today, was hoping for couple more and drop couple off like they always done in the past, almost feels like gts 2.0 with same
HUD and all tracks and cars carried over, but I’ll give benefit of doubt with better weather and day to night transitions.
More cars and campaign mode could of easily been updates.

The most complete video review that I have seen yet. Also, expect to have to do a couple of races / missions / licences before Sport mode unlocks, don't know if that includes or excludes lobbies.

Excellent video. I feel like I'm ready now. Tomorrow at 23:00 central time.
IceWarden, that is an insane car. Come on, it was you who kicked the puck arm into the side of the car, we know. I can't see a 70 year old man getting in and out of that car.

The guy had/has an insane car collection. He was late 60's back in 2003-5 when I was there. Not sure if he still lives but here is a link to the house he built and was for sale not long ago. He built his own small race track on the property.

This next link is to a link of some dream car garages. Scroll down to #17...it has some of his cars.
https://www.secretentourage.com/lifestyle/autos/dream-car-garages-9/

Here is a link to a 2015 video of some of the collection going to auction...$65mil worth.

"Wallace’s fleet features a mix of classic cars and some astonishing contemporary super cars. Cars without a reserve consist of the Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, Jaguar XJ220, 1956 Porsche 356 A 1600 Speedster, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo and 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

Classics with reserve include the 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider, Lamborghini Miura, 1988 Porsche 959, 1967 Toyota 2000GT, 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider and the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing."
"Contemporary star attractions are going to be the road-going McLaren F1 fitted with LM kit, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F50, the final Ferrari F40 LM, Maserati MC12, a Lamborghini Reventon and the Koenigsegg CCXR."
"Rounding up the list are two Bugatti Veyrons with chassis no. 001 and no. 300- the first and last coupes. Both were displayed at the Geneva Motor Show 2015and are yet to even cross 1,000 miles on the odometer."

The guy is just stupid rich...

Apparently in one of the lists he even has a street legal FXX...like wtf.

Great idea for the transition to GT7, it lets us earn credits and cars. I will certainly take part in the practice races and the new time trial. The 4th cant come soon enough.
Any reviews i have read, in order to get access to certain parts of the game like liveries, sport mode for online racing, we will need to complete menu books of objectives from the GT Cafe.

Something else I just thought of. It might be wise to look at your wheel settings in Sport (if you need to delete the game to make room) and write them down so you know what to plug into GT7 for a smoother transition.

I pre-ordered GT7 on 9/21 via the PlayStation website for a physical copy. It finally charged me yesterday, and all I'm seeing on my order screen is "preparing to ship". If the status doesn't change by this afternoon I'll probably buy the digital copy within the PS store and just send the physical copy back for a refund. For those that have already downloaded GT7, did it go relatively fast or were the servers bogged down?

I've seen a bit of disappointment in the fact that online lobbies are limited to 16 players. I've seen folks blame the fact that the game is cross platform for this limitation. I've seen people gripe about why can they do 20 in sport mode but only 16 in a lobby. Easy answer to that one but I won't rehash it here.

Today I saw people complaining that it's taking 24 hours for them to download the game. This person in particular was one of the people complaining about only having 16 players in a lobby and trying to put the blame on PD or Sony or anyone but themselves. I guess I'll never understand how people can deflect blame from a perceived problem and just not see that they are the biggest part of the reason for the perceived problem.

I went ahead did the digital purchase and downloaded last night. Server didn't seem to be bogged down as my download was completed inside of 20 minutes. Not sure exactly how long it took but I started it, went away for 20 minutes and when I came back, it was finished.

No official practice tonight for obvious reasons, but I'll be hosting a lobby tonight to send off Sport. Just some fun sprint races from N100 to GR1. I'll let the lobby decide which tracks and cars to use for some of them. Lobby open at same time 9PM EST
….. but will you include Nerdturdring?

I have no problem racing the Green Hell. But from past experience hosting these types of lobbies, when you change the track to it usually half the lobby leaves. So we should probably use it as the grand finale. And just for you Rob maybe I'll even turn off ABS!

And just because it's still as funny as the first time I saw it:

The only way SNAIL has ever gotten anywhere close to a full room for racing at the nerd turd ring that I can remember was when it was cat and mouse. The track is good for some things but sprint racing is not one of them.

Download was under 20 minutes for my digital copy. And even and update was DL this morning before the release.

Heres to hoping they at least have an option to remove all ghosting and all track resets online. I dont ever remember GT5 or GT6 being as bad when it came to that. There are other game modes many people enjoy that are no longer playable or as fun simply because of the ghosting and resetting. And if you find yourself in a hardcore league race or event, why not make it as real as possible? Driving through other cars or being picked up and teleported to a different location as if you slipped off the edge of Rainbow Road is not realistic! Fingers crossed

I posted that in the GT7 thread a few days ago. Some of the most fun I've ever had in GT were in C&M lobbies, and Sport completely killed that game mode. Half the fun is slamming into your opponents and the ghosting absolutely ruined it

I hope to get some good C&M in GT7. That is the most fun I had with the SNAIL gang.

BTW, my amazon order has not moved at all. Was hoping to get the disc by now.. but not even a ETA.

Anyone see the video of Super GT doing Nurburgring in the rain on slicks? Hilarious, forget rain, looked like ice
That was awesome, but on his next run he was alright(ish) on intermediates.

Random weather is a huge plus, but with dynamic time I will have to stop using shadows for brake markers though. I did not think much of that feature during the state of play but it looks beautiful on all the tracks. It really make everything feel more alive and less static.

I am glad that it was decided to halt official racing till next month since the requirements to access Sport mode is different than past GT games. Will allow us to earn more than enough credits by the time April season starts. Will be picking up my hard copy of GT7 in a few hours so this weekend for me will be working on GT7 progression. Very likely i will remain host for D2 so it will allow me to learn the online components to GT7 once i have Sport mode multiplayer unlocked. Let the memories continue and begin anew in GT7.

Got to play for a few minutes last night. Download unlocked at 9PM pacific time for me. Spent 45 minutes in the game (seemed like 25 of that was introductions that couldn't be skipped) and completed the first menu book, bought one car and won two more and have something like 27K credits.

I will spend a good chunck of the evening tonight progressing and unlocking things.
