Yeah I have done the old snap countersteer a few times. I've found it's super important to never just mash the throttle on a RWD car ;) Especially on tracks areas where there is some sort of negative G situation where the car loses weight like the first section of Trial Mountain and the weird new Alsace track with the extreme uphill. I either stay in a higher gear or just hold throttle or mildly let off...I mildly do everything now ;)

On the menu book where you have to unlock License A now. Enjoying it.

I am somewhat a car purist that likes to keep them stock (besides tires). So I'd rather buy a new car for $40k than spend $30k on upgrading a car I have...those upgrades are expensive.

When I see something in the used lot that doesn't seem likely to be won, and I really like it, I'll buy it.

Bought the '89 M3 and the older still CSL with the wing on it. Also bought a used 964 Porsche...last of the old bodystyle 911s. It drives really well. I wonder if we all get the same used car lot?

I just finished menu #26. There is a 1/2 ton race at Daytona and the recommended vehicle is the Ford F150 Raptor. After buying it and getting my GT40 in the race, I went to check out Colorado Springs, where the truck race gives you a Ford F150 Raptor for finishing 3rd or better. Should have bought the Toyota. Dang and double dang. 😅

I think the early game progression is fine, plenty of free cars, but I think the long term progression, with how stingy they are with credits, is going to be rough, especially with not being able to sell things for the most part.

MP is in a sad state though, you can't view the stats of other people's cars, can't modify lobby settings after its been created, etc.

I am up to World Touring Car 600 event, i forget which book that is up to from GT Cafe but i am using the RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7 using IM tires. I have 1,294,631 credits. The haptic feedback is a blast in the controller. I have no complaints of the game, it's graphics is an upgrade for sure. What threw me off for a loop is how PD changed the final corner to Trial mountain from simple to two sharp corners before finish line and longer straight on Deep Forest. The sound of raindrops hitting track and roof of vehicle to hear through headphones is great improvement from past GT games. I like the time and weather change.

I did same. Bought Raptor for requirement then won the Raptor. Moral: Don’t trust that a 50% chance results in being right half the time!

I’m on pins and needles on how the BoD will handle price cap (among other things).

I am willing to put together the list of cars in Google sheets that are gifted for completing menu items/work. If a car is over the price cap but is gifted for menu completion, then SNAIL should allow it IMO.

There are no cars over 4.6 mil credits. That’s far from 12.5, 15 and 20 mil, but of course, earning power seems at the moment to have greatly diminished.

Kazimoto has clearly offended the race league community by treating us no different to those who need baby steps. SNAIL numbers may not grow five fold. We’ll be fortunate to double!

Holy mother of pearl, it’s officially announced. I didn’t expect this. Hence the double post.

Finished menu book 21 and it really hasn't felt like a grind yet. Just trying to get a grasp on when the car is going to break loose a d how to catch it once it does.
So far my success rate at 'catching' a car that has broken loose, especially in high speed corners, is very low. I'm working on the 'don't ever break loose' approach, which has led to backing off in corners that used to be pedal to the metal, being patient and GENTLE applying throttle, and shifting gears while still at low throttle settings. Greater finesse required.

Same here, I love to kick the tail out with RWD cars not anymore I guess. Even in low speed corners with low powered cars. By the look of things might as well get used to it unless they tune the physics model in the near future.

Same man, I feel so scared just touching the throttle in a corner lol it’s a frustrating not feeling confident in my handling, but I’m sure I’ll get a hang of it eventually

So, let's see here. It's been quite some time since I've put any time into a GT title. There's not a whole lot that I particularly LOVE, except that it does remind me of the good ole days of racing at my buddies place when i was a kid. Granted, I'm still very much at the beginning of the game, I do wish it wasn't quite so scripted. The driving is hard to say. I haven't raced on a controller in a long time and my driving and sim knowledge is way different than when I was a weekly SNAIL. I'm not gonna judge it for being something it's not trying to be. It's chill and fun, which is why I got it. I hope the game progresses so the group can utilize it well. I wouldn't mind getting on track with old friends. Maybe one of the less formal events sometime.

Only on like 20 something menu book. I had bought a new Mustang Shelby GT350 (like 550ish PP) to do some of the higher PP FR American races early on. Was great fun with some SS tires. Won some menu races with ease.

Right up until I had to run SSX. Lead cars just pulling away. Top speed mid 180’s. Mustang top gear is just an OD gear. So luckily I had just won the Camaro Z1 LE car. So let’s give it a go.

Oooh yeah baby. Totally different car even though only 20 more PP or so. Damn thing cruises at 212 on SSX nearly redlined. Next menu book was the Pan American cup. I put some RH tires on it and the required wide body kit and went racing. This car is the bees knees baby. Especially at Interlagos…wow what fun is that Camaro on that track with RH tires. It will power slide turning left going up the hill in 4th gear toward the start/finish line. And lots of other places :)

Stopped for the night ready to start the Porsche menu book.

Loving the physics even more every day.

Also love that you can’t just mash the brakes in some cars and expect it to remain in a straight line. Love that little tail wiggle hard on the brakes in certain cars.

That Camaro Z1 LE, GTO twin turbo, and the preorder Prius performance have won me most of my races. Have been driving about 400 miles a day and have almost finished the menu books. Anyone looking to race some carts online? They only cost 10,000$ and could be some fun driving.

Wow 400. I only get an hour or two at a time which ends up being maybe 50-100 miles depending on the menu book. Would be nice to be through with the books so I can try more licenses and challenges. But still have 7 or 8 tracks to unlock.

Was fun to finally drive Daytona road course. It’s been many years but felt like yesterday.

The diner where I was kitchen manager went out of business so I have no shortage of time. I am dissapointed we can't trade tickets and cars like in the old games. That could have really help with accessibility.

Or just link it to your signature and it will be posted in any thread you frequent. Same goes for your greeting/post race auto messages within the game. www.snailracing.org takes you directly here to the 1st post (it's not linking at the moment) and www.gtplanet.net/snail will take you directly to our sub-forum.

Ill get another Recruitment PM going in the near future for those that want to help the cause. Would love to see us back up to 6+ divisions, and if everyone pitches in with helping bring in fresh meat we'll get there again

Hey fellow snail photographers.... we need a big favor.....

We need a few track pictures to include in our combo information banner. I copied the track pictures that carried over from GT Sport into my GT7 folder, but there are new (old) tracks and a few pictures I don't like.

Requirements: A nice picture that identifies a feature of the track. Doesn't need the track map, but it's ok to have one.

Here are satisfactory examples:

Here is one I don't like:

Grinding for credits

Something I did not like seeing on the game so far..... can't remember the exact amount, but GT7 will only give you a certain amount of Free credits. Then you'll have to pony up the Yen. And definitely not even close to get a lot of the expensive cars.

So, plan your buys carefully. I think the way they laid up the game as a collectors item book... will hook a lot of people. But not this bad boy.
