Merry Christmas guys!!
Quit wimping out - we want full heel-and-toeing from you slacker!Well, step number one of returning to my rig was accomplished yesterday. It was a bit of a struggle but I managed to get in and out. It was good that no one was there to see it!
Throttle is no problem but I left foot brake. I can press the brake pedal all the way down but it’s lifting my foot off the pedal completely that is the issue. Mike mentioned there is a setting that you can set free play in pedal before it engages but I am not aware of that. Will check it out because that might just help. Having to brake with my right foot would still be better than having to use the controller, but after all these years of left foot braking it would be strange indeed.
Hopefully I can get Denise to haul all my stuff back out to my man cave today so I can get everything hooked back up and give it a go.

Great as usual to hear Aero. You know something, getting back on the pedals might actually be good therapy for the legs. Just don't overdo it though. Nice and slow. I guess you'll know best how much you can do at a time, but I figure it will actually help your legs get stronger and stronger. Cheers bro. Look forward to racing with you when we get back going. After getting in and out of my rig last Sunday, I was chomping at the bit to get set back up, but my legs were really bothering me for the first few days this week so I had to rest. I finally got all my PS4 and stuff back out to the man cave on Thursday and got it all hooked back up. Man, you have no idea how good the wheel felt after a month of using the pad! All seems to work ok, I can rest my left foot on the brake without the brakes engaging, and can apply full pressure if needed. I have to physically lift my right leg up to the gas pedal but once there it’s comfortable. Now the only question is, can I last an entire race evening.
Mike and I got together and did a couple of laps of the Nord, and then did a couple of 5 lappers with practice and I felt pretty good after that, albeit pretty darn rusty after not using the rig in 6 months!
Oh, yeah, almost forgot, Colts joined us for a bit with his usual 24MHz hum, what a welcome back to the rig for the first time that was.
Tried out a couple of the new (to me) Ferrari’s, love the old 250 Testa Rossa and GT. And that F355 Challenge is nice to drive. I think Mike warned you guys awhile back that when me, (and Jeff), returned to expect some repeats of cars/combos that you ran not too long ago! This means vintage and open wheel stuff. We will have Jan 7th’s combo posted in a couple of days.
I just realized as I was writing this that today, the 29th, is exactly 6 months to the day of my accident. What a crazy half a year it has been, and I just want to thank you guys, again, how much I’ve appreciated the kind words, gifts, and support you have given me. I couldn’t ask for a greater bunch of guys to know and race with.![]()

Here’s Sgeti on his/her last trip to GameStop
Left foot braking from an old school guy like you?.. really?... I cannot do that... even with paddle shifting I still use the clutch, heel and toe downshift. Guess I'm a dinosaur, also the reason I don't like front wheel drive or 4 wheel.Well, step number one of returning to my rig was accomplished yesterday. DAMMIT CAMEL!!! That's my only trick for being faster than Bear in 4wd cars! Now he knows about the transfer case clutches - Thanks a lot!Left foot braking from an old school guy like you?.. really?... Camel did a room with 4wd in the snow, I was so frikken slow I was going to bow out. Camel showed me how to disengage the front drive so it rear wheel only. I was 8 seconds faster and actually had fun. Oh and not last either.
But,,, best for last..super happy to see you back behind the wheel my friend... talk to you Monday.
I can’t wait for that trans-dude to call the Gamestop corporate office. “I’m calling to file a complaint against one of your employees.” Alright sir,let me put you on hold for a minute. TRIGGERED!
And did you see the snowflake vape store employee melt down over a Trump shirt? It sounded like the soy boy swallowed his rape whistle! lol.

Well thats disapointing. They decided to make a sim-cade for p cars 3. Hope they change there mind.
I have a sinking feeling there will be no vintage cars....I hope they continue to support p cars 2Well thats disapointing. They decided to make a sim-cade for p cars 3. Hope they change there mind.
Just an idea of what shift is. Shift makes forza look like iracing. Thats how bad it is. Hopefully its just added dlc and they keep 99 percent of pcars2 intact getting rid of the glitchy 1 percent of the game. Fingers crossed because the last thing we need is another forza or gt3 only assetto corsa competion type of games.Yeah, a bit concerning. More 'focused and fun'? WTF is he talking about? Is it going to be more acadey? I never played shift, so no idea, but IMO they only need to fine tune the current vesrions issues and maybe physics - the overall package is great.
Hey guys, looking forward to the upcoming Ferrari night! As I was running a few test laps I found myself wondering about the radiator settings. I know that's always been kind of an unspoken subject (Advantage since damage is turned off), and am wondering if we could lock something down on a "gentleman's agreement" basis. Frankly, I think it's just stupid to have my Crew Chief telling me my engine's going to blow up if I don't cool the engine down for the last 3/4 of a race. So, to be totally honest, I ALWAYS run the radiator at a setting that keeps the engine cool. But, you guys know me (*cough-and @GTLehman - cough*), I'm a sucker for realism, and will take "true" sim-racing over winning any day. I'm not trying to rewrite the rule book here, because we all know you don't fix what ain't broke. But, I just thought we could maybe talk about this eensy weensy little tuning issue. If I'm out of line... Oh, I'm sure I'll know if I'm out of line!
RIP Super Dave, you were the best.
Simply Mad Studios is leaving PCars and going back to be more like Shift? Looks like we better hope Asseto Corsa gets some improvements soon. Shift 1 & 2 were definitely a step forward for the parent series, Need For Speed. Yeah, that’s right, they’re warning us that they’re going back to an arcade game like NFS. Watching Shift videos you can see where PCars came from, I’m just disappointed that to make a little more $ in the short term they’re willing to dumb down PCars 3. Dumbing it down will backfire in the long run because their game will just get lost among all the other arcade “racing” games.
