:gtpflag: Knock Out night for Dec 23rd :gtpflag:

With the blessing of @sgohsixthree, thanks Shaun, we are blatantly stealing his SRM Knock Out series format for this Monday. We figured attendance might be on the low side just before christmas, and also for those that need a hooligan night because they don't have Wreckfest yet, so we wanted to have a silly night.
For those that haven't done a Knock Out night with SRM before, the rules are as follows. The main goal is to take out the leaders, but if you happen to wreck someone else while attempting this, that's ok as well. Positions 1-3 must stay on the track, everyone else can cut the track to get to the leaders. Positions 1-3 can also take each other out, but must stay on the track. You can easily go from 1st to last very quickly, so be aware of when you are in the top 3 and have to stay the course. The last lap is a free for all, leaders can cut track as well.

The vehicle of choice is going to be slightly different: Ford Bronco Brocky.

The tracks don't need to be known until race night, but they will all be places where you can cut and make up time fairly easily. I believe Shaun would run a 10 min practice, then a 10 min race, but will confirm that.

Glad some more folks will get to enjoy the format! Usually 5-10 minute practices. It is easier to stick to laps instead of time because the last lap is usually a free-for-all if you want to run that.

Merida, Yucatan
Awesome! I visited Chichen Itza about 15 years ago - Didn't make it up to Merida, but stopped in Valladolid which was very charming. I was staying in Cancun at the time, but it seemed like it would have been great to stay there (in Merida) for a few days - if we would have had more time. Pictures would be great if you can.

Monday Sounds great @aerolite looking forward to it since I missed Wrecknight!

Forgot that I told you guys I'd post a couple pics of last summer's Belle Isle INDYCAR weekend.

Jonathan Bomarito and teammate Harry Ticknell. Bomarito is seriously a basazz Mazda driver!

Next up is my son's absolute FAVORITE driver. Meeting him was the highlight of his life (just outside of meeting his brother Ricky two summers ago). Mr. Jordan Taylor. In 2017 Jordan was running for the GTLM class (now GTE class) win for team Corvette at the 24Hr LeMans. Two laps to go Jordan had the lead with Aston Martin's Jonathan Adam challenging. What went down was dirty pool on behalf of the European team, and Adam stole the win from Jordan Taylor. My son and I were watching live... and my son cried like a woman broke his heart. Look at that smile!

Next, well, my son's not quite as much of a fan. He's a huge fan, but just not as much as devoted as he is to the Taylor's. Still, he was sooo excited to meet a real life racing legend. The one and only Juan Pablo Montoya!

The picture I didn't get? That's a heart breaker as well. As my son and I grabbed the last bags out of the truck on Thursday evening, and the valet took my truck away, we turned around and LITERALLY bumped into Joseph Newgarden. I would've thought it was someone that just looked like him had he not been wearing the Verizon/Chevy athletic polo shirt. I said "Oh my God, you're Joseph Newgarden." He was extremely gracious and conversational. Mostly, he just wanted to talk to my son about the track, what they had been testing, and what they were worried about as far as weather. After all that I couldn't ask for a photo or autograph. It just would've cheapened the moment. All in all, my son had an amazing weekend. What else can a parent ask for?

A couple more pics from Belle Isle. Myself, I really like Colton Herta and think he has a big career ahead of him. I was excited to get a picture of him and my son in Colton's rookie year. I congratulated him on winning at COTA and he was pretty happy to hear that. Very nice kid.

I have to say, American race drivers are amazing with their fans, especially when you talk to them about actual racing. I think it's just a little dorky for adult men to ask for pictures with the drivers, so I'm glad I have my son to live vicariously through. A few more cool cars from my son's iPod collection. Tomorrow night might be a little busy with last minute shopping and gift wrapping, so I may miss out on knockout racing - which sounds really fun! If I miss out tomorrow: Hope you all have a great Christmas!

I'm not going to make it this week. To much going on with Christmas and new puppy. I'll be back in the new year. besides the last time we ran these I think I was Mr Bawesome (being that I am a piney from the pine barrens, look it up) so I want to let someone else have a chance. Here is a little tast from last time.

We’re still not sure what’s gonna happen Monday??? Six guys showed up last Monday, which was to be expected this time of year. Good thing we all had Wreckfest, we went there and laughed our arses off. Me and Steve’ll talk about it tonight.
Tonight is Phuc U Friday on wreckfest. Opening up at 7.
Hey Steve, want to know what to do with your settlement from that hangnail removal?

That host is a dork... not sure if he's driven anything more exciting than a Miata - making this the perfect video for Aeroflake. Cool to see Fittipaldi's Indy winner - too bad dork-boy didn't know what it was and only called it a 'really fast-looking car'. I liked the Mustang Ranch car too - I'd like to see the support crew for that one...

So, Monday - Broncs at twenty paces I reckon?

In light of Rob's DHL story, here's my holiday panic situation. As UPS arrived on Dec 22nd, my wife and I both saw the truck backing up the driveway. Me: "I'll Get It! I'm expecting something I don't want you to see!" Grabbed the contraband, hustled it down the stairs, then ran back up and handed her the two other packages that were addressed to her. Out of breath: "Hmm... I guess the stuff I'm expecting won't be here 'til tomorrow."

Might install tomorrow while she takes the kids ice skating. (It's been hiding under the pool table).

And SGETI, you're right. I know we're not getting away with anything. She has a tablet, phone, laptop, Google, etc. But I'm still going to play dumb for as long as I can get away with it.

In all fairness, my wife’s reaction (after she asked if it was a new seat), was cool. In any case, she got a 1 karat diamond ring for Christmas. That just means I won’t feel guilty when I order the DD wheel base!
NICE! I think we share footing. My wife's jewelry box would easily pay for a full motion rig. She has 3 friggin' wedding rings! How did I fall for that? The original - also a full karat, princess cut. Actually purchased the stone and then a setting. Then, working at Dow she constantly had to put latex gloves on. Well poor thing just kept ripping gloves on those princess cut corners. So she "needed" a recessed diamond band to wear to work. Then, for our third anniversary, I bought her a past, present, future ring with a blue center diamond (she always wanted a blue diamond - I blame Titanic!). So, I don't ask permission, just forgiveness. In the end, she ALWAYS ends up with more. *SIGH* And somehow we end up feeling guilty. Derp!
