I hate to say this to you buddy, but this Honda has @yogi bear written all over it. It's like a lighter Caterham, with a higher revving engine. The rear end just follows you around the track spinning away - but the tires never overheat. It's a wild ride.
Cool.. when my shoulder heals and hopefully I can get the g29 working properly I'll try it out. But from all the stuff I've been browsing through I'm not going to get my hopes up. I've read about guys that are much more fluent in techno babble than me saying they've tried all kinds of set ups and cannot get it as good as p1. One said he's got it closer but goes on to say he's still 4 seconds slower with the same car/track combo.
That's pretty much what I was finding, only I was slower still because of set up issues. Within 2 laps, guys I used to run door to door with just disappeared, my game takes about 2 minutes for each set up change before it lets me back on the track. 2 changes and qualifying is over( warm up tires) . Just frustrating,
So I'm going back to p1 until they fix p2. After my shoulder heals that is.

And here goes the molotov cocktail thrown into the poophouse...

Last night I was jumping lobbies on PCars 2. After qualifying well at SPA some dipstick rammed me, pushed me into another, and crunched my hood, so I couldn't see out of the windshield anymore. Fortunately it was visual damage only. So I could still drive my car in ROOF VIEW... which from now on should be called... Project Cars 2, I have a vagina view! It's like they put the game in slow motion for those that prefer the roof view! There was no challenge to keep the competitors behind me at all! I could see everything coming way before it was time to brake, turn, exit, etc. It was exciting for a couple laps, but got boring pretty quick. Come on guys, it's time to start Sim-racing. Like I told Steve, you wouldn't do a flight simulator from the roof of an airplane.

Okay, commence to start farting in my direction. While this has a little sincerity to it, I'm mostly just F-ing with you guys. But at the same time I want us to have the most competitive, even-scaled, fun together.

Ughh, what I do? :ouch:

Pffffffft.....first one headed your way. Nasty.
I race almost exclusively in roof view, it gives me better SA on who is around me. I'm firkin old you know, I need all the help I can get. Racing in cockpit view is cool, but, until I can move my virtual head in natural positions to give me the awareness I need, roof view it is.. If I was racing in VR, that's another story.
Flying a sim is different because there aren't 15 other airplanes fighing for the same airspace, your situational awareness is focused inside on the numbers and instruments.
Want to see something cool, YouTube Virtual Blue Angels.

I used to race religiously in cockpit view in the gran turismo series, and it was awesome! I've tried it in PCARS but when I'm running in a group I can't see anything around me, the mirrors are cut off from view and you can't zoom the map in like you used to in GT5, so roof view it is for sedans at least. Open wheel cars and convertibles I'm using cockpit view because the sight lines are waaaay better... friggen tin tops with their stupid A pillars and fenders...

Could not have said it any better myself. And he was polite I would have had to resort to being a B.O.B

try changing you field of view , FOV Bring the camera forward, I think I have mine at 70 -75, the camera is directly above where your rear view mirror in a real car is located. Plenty of speed sensation.

As long as you're willing to acknowledge that there's never been any advantage between controllers vs. wheels, I'll concede. Hehehe...

Honestly, I really don't give a rat's butt hole what you guys do when you race, as long as we're having fun.

What? You guys are using roof view AND ABS!!?? No wonder I can't win a freaking race!
Agreed GR8, as long as we're having fun. I like the cockpit for realism, and I will continue with it, that's just what I'm here for, is the realism. I do however race in my underwear with a fan blwing on me and a margarita to stay cool, that's where the realism ends - a man's gotta know his limitations.
I do enjoy the 'spotter' feature of PCars 2, it really helps situational awareness more than the arrows.

They have a spotter feature? Sweet! I might just have to use it!

Yup the guy says things like 'Car on your right'.....' still on your right'.... OK, clear now'.
Spotter with the arrows are very very helpful. You can’t see the other car , but you know exactly where it is and if you can change you line or not.

You know strangely enough I don't recall hearing that guy. And I have both race engineer and spotter set to On. I hear the race engineer though. Have to pay more attention to see if I hear the spotter guy next time I return to the game after they finally release some patches for Pcars2 on PS4.

Do you really want me to go there, again.....

Welcome home Steve and Uku. I bet it will be nice to hear English again. That's where Marthe is from....remember her? Bad girl, French, cute, bad bad girl. Gad, I loved that woman even though she was psycho.

I don't recall hearing him either.

I dont matter BUT. I say we just send the invites, start the room, and let what happens tomorrow happen tomorrow. And i suppose JUST because it might make it simple and keep bear happy turn off tuning just to f with everyone who tuned or tried it.

Had a blast racing wheel to wheel with @SGETI in the Honda today for 15 minutes, hopefully I can hang as well tomorrow.

Guys, I won't be there. My wheel won't work properly on p2. It does crazy stuff. I'll return when they get the game fixed.

Might miss R1 tonight but I'll try my best to make it. If you arent full for R2 I should be there. Or I may just give the GTS demo a whirl. Have a good race if I dont see you guys

Race day, first official PCars2 race night, hope it goes smooth!

It will be the usual three 30 min races, but will be by laps so we can set a mandatory pit. Everyone is to start with a maximum 12 liters, (you can start with less if you want). 24 liters will be enough for each race so set accordingly. PC2 is different with the fuel at your pitstop, it will add to what is in your tank at the stop. Tire wear will be set to normal tonight to keep things easier.

We are also going to start with a clean sheet for the rankings, so for tonight only, the 45 minutes before the start will be qualifying and race 1 will be a standing start from the qualy results. Race 2 & 3 will be the usual reverse grid and rolling start.

Invites will go out by 7:50 and qualy will start at 8:00.

And please remember, no inviting others that are not on our active drivers list.

Looking forward to getting back on track and seeing you guys tonight, and Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian brothers!

Hood view ho over here and looking forward to the Honda tonight! Getting a large Turkey grinder from Tony's Pizza (hot Connecticut pizza joint) then gonna come in 6th... lol

I also need to try that wheel calibration trick

Sorry guys, got tied up with domestic duties tonight. Really missing the camaraderie and clean racing. Maybe we can have another meet up before next Monday? Going to head downstairs now to test GTSport. Hopefully you had fun and a good turnout tonight. Peace!

Thanks to all that showed up last night. I think the night went well, and everything seemed to work, other than the sporadic fuel levels at the start of each race.
Congrat's to @coltsjugg for finally keeping his **** together all night and getting this weeks "Mr. Awesome" title. Was a close finish with @Zii1993, who definitely figured out the car for race 2 & 3!

I was 2nd in the last race too, don't know why it switched waffle and me at the end of the race 3, those sneaky 🤬.
Other than the fuel picking and choosing when to load, and maybe some of those random penalties people got, everything seemed to go well.
I assume Waffle got the penalty for rolling at the start, and any other penalties where probably from not slowing down when that little message pops up.
But yeah,
WHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOP WHOOOOOOOOOOOOP

I didn't save the replay for race 3 Colts, but I trust you are correct for the race finish (wow, I'm trusting Colts, lol). The change will affect me and waffle though so you had better be right!

Changes made.

Yeah it flip flopped our finishing spots. Tight at the line but he got me by a tenth or so.. haha. If I didn't get a mystery 20 second penalty in race 2 I'd have a LEGIT 2nd place finish! Great racing last night @aerolite and @coltsjugg we had some good, tight laps.

I got my 30 second penalty for cutting track, I didn't notice any warning on screen or audible. Just appeared.

I can see after watching my replays that I need a good lesson on how not to rear end guys.....Sgeti got it, Z got it, Bear got it and a couple of weeks ago I must have hit Rednose about five times in group A. Sorry guys, I'll try to be better. Unacceptable on my part.

That Honda was a good pick, once the tires warmed up....wow. Push it just a bit too hard and it warned you before it went. I like that. It didn't like to be light going over the rises, I could almost feel the negative Gs.

So, to me the reverse grid worked well, the game didn't punish us for going to slow and we got together fast, one potential problem solved. The room was fairly stable without any DCs. It's getting easier by the day to navigate the host menu, I hope. My issue lately is the menu popping up right in the middle of a race, twice last night, twice put me in a wall. Also, using Sgeti's fix for a fast menu works like a charm, just clear the saved data before each night and you can access the menu in two seconds.

Oh yeah....Colts is Awesome.....yada yada.
