Was thinking for this Sunday , seeing how racers are few recently. I say we open a very "open" room , maybe "STOCK RACES by star racing GTP". Anyone racing should post a combo they want to race on Sunday here so that others are sure to have the car. Then just play it by ear. Vote tracks , switch pp for random stock races. Anything really, just keep it fun and hope for others to join. Just a thought

Edit: small list of cars if we all have these we can run stock races in varied pp ranges...

I've been hosting rooms titled Rocket vs. Fireblade and no one ever joins. It sounds like such a great race back and forth. Especially on a track that has power straights and twisty bits.

That's what I'm hoping. Anyone who joins that seems to fit star we can then shoot an invite to on PSN. Be sure to name some of your favorite cars...

Now you may have a few more to run it ;)

I have all those cars as for favorites... I like the corvette a lot and I can't get enough of the WSR @ RB Ring Spielberg. Drifting t3 just right at full throttle is its own reward

You guys are awesome!!!!!! Great ideas!!!! I'm about 90% sure I will make it Sunday. USER (I assume) go ahead and host just to be safe. Maybe after this week and possibly one more, we can start up again.

@Jayc2k stick with us man. This group incredible! Their racecract is stupendous!!! Once we get back to "regularly scheduled programming" it will be even better!! Thank you for joining! You won't regret it!

Cool , whatever works man... It just didn't seem to work sticking to the old format of picking combos when few show up. If we all have the same cars and people post what they'd like to race on Sunday , we can run races , be organized and most of all just have fun racing. I think most of the cars I put are kind of common most should have , if not they are cheap so new racers joining should have no real problem going to pick one up ...

Really?? No one has at least one other car they would want to race ;)

I'll race anything pretty much it's the combos that we race are all starting to look the same and we should at least try to mix that in before we change the weekly format we could also soften the car requirements by running R1 and R2 as run any car/racecar on or under the PP limit tuning prohibited. This would make it far easier for a walk-in to race and hopefully join. We need to address the divisions issue ie: new racers aren't going to enjoy getting blown away each week by @Whitey093 & @Luv2Coach as much as I do :banghead: I'll message you in admin.

Isn't that what we did today..... as we saw we still need combo and car choices made before race time . Making even common car choices sometimes doesn't work(who uses a stockyard lol). But we cant have us running the show and being confused on cars and tracks.
Should just be end race , vote/chose track, winner/group choice pick of exact car(which we all will have if you post it) or pp, jump in race.... When new people see all of us in one car they'll get the car or leave. If we question the combo amongst ourselves then they try and talk you out of the combo waisting time instead of just buying it . We need to work on flow. People want good races at a high number per hour.
Think of your "interesting" combo and post it so we can race it , we then can throw pp races and such in as filler.
We have three sometimes 4 consistant drivers , we obv. Don't need to worry about divisions , we need to pick a time spot and create a buzz and following for that time. Then when you have 16 steady and others begging to race at that time you break into divisions

It's not quite what we did but close enough. Doesn't everybody, I use the stockyard because my garage can't hold all 647 cars? I agree with the ebb and flow of the game. organization and actual race time are paramount. That's not what I meant by divisions but it doesn't matter was a dumb idea anyways. STaR was based on Coach's own hosting style whats your opinion on last Sunday's races and how we should proceed?

Sorry for my previous rant. I was just a little frustrated after posting suggestions all week and trying to coax suggestions from others so we'd look organized on race day. No one says anything all week then on race day we start battleing about cars, creating delays.

What is the max number of cars the garage holds? Strange why a game would limit such a thing . If anything I'd put race cars in the stockyard lol I pretty much only race sport cars under 500pp

I think 500 is the limit. Then you have to use the stockyard. The whole garage is messed up anyhow. If you join a 450pp race, it takes forever to cycle down. There should be a jump to __ pp button. You should also be able to organize cars into certain groups. I keep all my cars in stock condition with 100% limiter so there's no guessing if its a stock car or if its detuned. Pain in the butt to reset them after each race if I have to adjust or tune them :(

There is a couple ways to sort your garage cars... ""Filter by: " allows you to pick ranges for pp or power , can also sort by drivetrain country year etc. Also pressing square when on your list gives you more options. Probably telling you stuff you already know lol. I do the same as you pretty much.., buy a car, change the oil, by the same size wheel(so I can paint). stiffening the chassis messes most cars up, I never do it . Adding aero parts bans you from stock rooms, and unless it's a high power car it does more harm then good, so I don't do it. There are a few cars that I wanted to try it with, I have those marked as favorites so I know they are tuned . When I make any changes to a car I switch to sheet C first. Most times when the race is over I switch it back to A(my stock page). Sometimes I forget but that's easy to see when I go to the parts sheet for a future race.

Yah I am in a quandary as to why they chose that format & how to correctly balance my garage:stockyard. I've never sold a car that wasn't a dupe so I now if I can't find my car it's prolly in the stockyard

If you can afford it, and I did until I just ran out of credits, but buy a second version of the car to keep stock and have them color coded. That way you quickly know when looking at the garage list if a car is tuned or stock.

That's what the folders A B & C are for it's easy now to reset a car to factory stock settings as long as you never "Improve Body Rigidity" or add any aero of which I never do. FYI Rims are not considered a tuning item (this has been tested) My problem is I'm always needing a car that's in the stockyard. I try to send only cars that I seldom use but it's a drag not being able to access all your cars online.

Body rigidity also can be done stiffenedd and still enter tune prohibit races. Makes no sense lol

Anybody have a car they'd like everyone to have in their garage ready to race Sunday? Perhaps even a track they would prefer to race it on maybe

West Surrey Racing Formula 3 race car at Ascari. The track has such a good rhythm in that car. I also did a test with the LCC Rocket. The specs on the two cars are fairly similar, check this out. Same HP. Rocket weighs ~100kg less but has no downforce. WSR F3 has downforce but is heavier. I did a hot lap of each back to back and the Rocket needs a bit more braking room, but otherwise the lap times were within 0.5xx of each other. Really good stuff. The Rocket could reach higher speeds around 10 mph faster than the race car with downforce, all because it's lighter. But I'm never on when anyone else is. :(

I do like the WSR and I really like like ascari ,sort of can't believe I haven't done at.least a couple laps there. Lol. Probably quite difficult to make a pass there with a full room but great for doing laps.
:lol:No shorting the chicanes haha, race it how it was designed to be raced

I did an arcade race and had fun. Learned where the overtake spots are.

-Turn 4 (if you consider the start chicane 1 & 2)
-Turn 7
-Turn 8 (if you don't overtake in Turn 7 you have this hairpin to make it stick)
-Turn 9
-Turn 11
-Turn 12 hairpin
-Turn 14 braking zone
-Turn 20

Really fun stuff.

I'm around today if anybody wants to race and test things out online. Just lemme know here first or send me a PSN message. I have my PS3 on and running so I will see the message. I'm watching the broadcast of the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen.

Going to try and turn some Laps tonight. Good conversation guys. I like the '71 Ferrari at Silverstone. Or any car at Grand Valley
