Round 3 is a spec race car so I always considered round 1 a stock road car. There are tuner civics that could be used that will have a similar feel outside of the harder tires.

okay well this looks pretty boring except for 80's Monza I'm a fosho. I'm going to practice the tiny Abarth @ Madrid (looks like a pregnant roller skate) I'm a maybe for that. I'll pass on :yuck: Indy Road Course 💡 you should run the tuner at one of the new RB Ring tracks (IMO).

... :(

No one is familiar enough with the new tracks to expect an incident free race. The few laps I've turned, I've found it difficult not to overrun the exit. Maybe next week after some more familiarization.

If 470pp at INDY road doesn't do it for you I don't know what will. I personally used to run there a lot in gt5 and loved it and 470 is a very open number for diversity. I wasn't excited about eiger last week but I did it and ended up having fun. Maybe give it a shot.

Your choice was a good one , can't please all the picky people

@USERID_77a23 LOL all the people? That's rich har har. Am I missing something? Thank you for your combo it's refreshing. The Abarth isn't half bad and I like Madrid solely on the fact that we've never raced there. @Whitey093 I'm just tired of the wide open full throttle flat tracks we race week in and week out when there's at least a half dozen others we've never even touched. Your probably right about RB Ring but considering usually none but the four of us show up it wouldn't bother me in the least if we got into each other because I know w/o a doubt it wouldn't be intentional. But again who knows who will show up to race so point taken. As for Eiger last week? Please, I could tell that only Coach took it seriously. How do you think that made me feel? Other leagues are flourishing, creating new series and picking up new members and we're dying on the vine without even giving it a go. I truly believe there's so much more we could be doing with the STaR especially now since it's just us 4. Its not Gospel its just my opinion fellas.

Point well taken. I actually prefer the smaller more technical tracks but I am casting a wide net to attract the most interest. Some short courses would be fun though.

I was ready to race eiger, my problem was I didn't read all the info and tuned an 80s car. So my apologies for not having the right car and fudging the combo

Whew! I went to bed worried and woke up stressed that my comments would not be well received. Thanks @Whitey093 With all of us on the same page hopefully we can get some activity going. 👍 We all just need to start thinking outside the box and consider what the average GT6 racer might find interesting. There's literally tons of possibilities. ie: exotic cars, new tracks, real life race series we could emulate etc. no idea is too crazy it's better than none at all with just the four of us trudging on in the same old rut. Besides I know I've gotten faster and there's no reason why I have to be last every time we race. Hopefully a change of sorts will attract some beginner & novice racers. Which brings me to another idea I wanted to propose to Coach. I was thinking maybe we could take the STaR in a different direction streamlining ourselves in an effort to be more appealing to the new GT racers & first time leaguers. Maybe nixing heavy damage and increasing grip for Div 3 racers etc. There's probably more than one but I'm sure there's also a major reason why we've lost so many members and we're not attracting any new one's and it's up to us to figure it out.

No worries bro you seem to be having a tough time lately and I can understand how that is. "A controller was stuck in the couch" was a good one but when I heard you say "I started the race in 4th gear" I laughed so hard soda came out my nose. I hope DESTINYKEYS didn't get too annoyed with us LOL. Since when are tuners considered whiners or did he say weiners?

I always used to just run automatic but now in a lot of races I run manual, slower cars even try the clutch. Makes for a lot more mistakes lately lol. I race with Destin for years. He knew something was going on those two races, talk about not being prepared :ouch:
I think the comment on tuners was tuning is an advantage that a lot try to use before ever learning to drive a track cleanly stock.

I've been messin with the clutch/H-shifter for a few months and I've found it's more about the track than anything else. Some tracks like Laguna you just can't use it and others (Brands Hatch) seem to be made for it but overall I lose a little time wherever I use it.

How are you all not familiar with the Red Bull Ring yet? I ran a cruising track day for 5 hours the day it came out and the room was always with 8+ people. I used all kinds of cars and got an idea of which PP has a good rhythm there. It's the faster cars but either way it's a really good track for setting hot laps.

@BustedFoSho . Ya , more of a fun thing to do , not a fast thing to do haha
Oh it's definitely fun, a pity that we have to give up speed to use it but the clutch is almost to much fun to leave alone. I guess it can only get better with time eventually they'll improve on it with better programming as its not very realistic lacking the true aspects of a mechanical clutch. Using a clutch should give you more control as it forces the car into the desired gear while the revs are still high. Not so in GT6 there's a lag and the revs drop by the time it disengages and the wheels lock and you spin out but it's still a lot of fun to play with LOL. I've never played Forza 4 but I hear theirs works much better

Snail racing to coach, ... Are you out there ?
Don't tell me real life is taking over ....
;)
Lol. This is first day I've had a minute to look in on gtp. Yes it is... Not by choice either.I'm optimistic about this Sunday. Practice not so sure. But car then race. Lol. Miss you guys. I'm not gone entirely.

May I join
Welcome to S.T.a.R. Racing League!

Our goal is to make your online racing experience the very best it can possibly be through the observance of High Quality Racecraft. Please take a moment to read the OP before asking any questions. It has all the details about S.T.a.R. Then read the OLR (online racing rules) and familiarize yourself with its major points. Negligent or reckless drivers are not tolerated here at S.T.a.R. and all members are required to exhibit Good Racecraft at all times.

Races are on Sunday @ 16:00 EST/21:00 GMT featuring Spec & Tuned races followed up with Race Cars and lasts approximately 2 hrs. Please have your cars purchased and oil changed; we don't deviate from our schedule for a driver that isn't prepared.

Administration generally has the car/track combos for each week posted by Wednesday evening; leaving drivers enough time to fully acquaint themselves with all three combos. We don't have an official practice day scheduled but we welcome & encourage posts on the thread if your looking for someone to practice with.

TWO THINGS before your first race:
  1. "Start a Conversation" with @Luv2Coach giving him your PSN ID - Color Scheme(car & wheels) - Racecar Number
  2. Submit your TT results as soon as you can, otherwise you cannot race in scheduled S.T.a.R. Events until we have this information.
Again, welcome to the league!!!

Coach

So I've sent in my information and heard back, but how do I find out what division I was placed in and when we race next

There are no divisions at the moment. When turn out necessitates a room split, the tt's will make it easy to identify who goes where.
