➊ Turtle Racing League - FLEX | Saturday Night Racing | JOIN TODAY!Open

Have a practice room up. Not sure how long I'll stick around. Maybe 30 minutes or so unless others join.

In case you have trouble finding it, Room ID# 1472-6399-8665-9412-5253

We always start the events at 10:00pm eastern time US every Saturday evening with a pre-race drivers briefing.

We request everyone show up at least 10 minutes early to ensure we don't begin without you. Once qualifying begins, you can't join the track until the second race (if there is one).

The race room usually opens an hour early for those who wish to practice/warm up together. Just look for the host, usually psycho-tuber unless he's unable to participate that week.
Keep an eye on this thread for any updates near race time.

TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - FLEX RACING SERIES

Race 7: January 31, 2015 | Two - 45 Minute Races

Bentley Speed 8 '03 | Racing Soft

Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit | 24 Laps

We need to be careful about running wide on Copse Corner. Penalties will be assessed for intentional violations. Have a great race!

DRIVERS MEETING

The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports

"It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free."

Rules

You are expected to follow The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

"Rubbin"

This is a non-contact sport. Let me put it another way, if you are "rubbin", you ain't racing in this league. We will not tolerate individual drivers taking the fun out of racing for everyone.

First Turn

You are not going to win the race on the 1st turn or the 1st lap. Therefore, it is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1. Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. You must hold your position through the 1st turn and make no attempt to advance it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. Other drivers may draft past you before the approach to turn 1 if it can be done incident free. In other words, if you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn you may.
This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. Furthermore, it is inappropriate to take advantage of other drivers doing their part to keep turn 1 incident free. Once again, you may not attempt to pass once in the braking zone of the 1st turn of the 1st lap. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable
, and only results in accidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry, so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass him on the low side.

Procedures

Until everyone has accepted the TURTLE RACING LEAGUE "Community" invitation and we have more experience with the "Community" function we will run the races in an open lobby. Go to "Open Lobby" and check the "Friends Rooms Only" box and look for TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - FLEX RACING SERIES and enter. Races will begin at 10pm Eastern time.

Connection Issues

Please follow the procedures below to help minimize connection issues.
Step 1: Reboot your modem/router
Step 2: Reboot your PS3
Step 3: Clear your GT6 in game System Cache

Pit Stops

Drivers need to be very careful entering the race track when exiting the pit. Please look at your map to see if other drivers are near the pit exit. Drivers exiting the pit need to stay in the pit exit lane until the track is clear of cars on the track. Cars on the track have the right of way.

Quitting

Drivers are expected to finish races no matter what position they are in. Rage quitting is frowned upon! :grumpy:

Microphones

Although you are welcome to use microphones during the race, they should only be used to communicate your proximity to other drivers in order to avoid an incident. Otherwise, either mute them or make sure any background noise in non-existent.

Reminders

1: Hold your position and do not attempt advance it in turn 1 of lap 1
2: If you go off track make sure the track is clear before you re-enter
3: If you cause an accident you must wait and give the position back
4: Watch for cars on the track coming out of the pit, stay to the inside

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

Final Note

Race Clean and Have Fun!

I might pop in and watch the race for a bit, but I think I'll sit it out due to absolutely NO practice and STILL don't have the car.

Thanks for the shout out mate! I just finished my 3hr race, rained for over 2 hours. Ol HP got 3rd but I ran out of fuel on the Döttinger

Won't do that again

2 hours and I've another one later on too.

Good racing everyone 👍.

I was hoping to battle with you D1 guys, but my consistency was terrible last night. I simply need more practice driving door to door. I can hot lap alone just fine. I need to get to Wednesday practices, but work has been a bear lately

From earlier in the week:

Dammit, why again did I convince you to race this weekend?? :grumpy::lol:

Fun racing last night, boys! Congrats to Phish on his continued domination. 👍
 it's allllll your fault Dolph! :sly: Thanks though! Great racing by everyone!

also another note we are now under 10 minutes in the 24 hours of Daytona left and their hasn't much been update in the standings but as of the 17 hour Mark, GTMX are in 2nd place overall! @Masterhec is racing at the moment! Making us Turtles Proud

@Heathenpride And his GHH crew is currently 10th overall as of the 17 hour mark! 👍

Congrats to those guys for putting on a great Race!

Race Recap

GTP_Ph7shr continues his rampage through the ranks with the Pole and two 1st Place finishes for 1st Place in Division 1 and the Overall win. Great Racing GTP_Ph7shr. For the 2nd week in a row DolphDrago ran very strong, though he never kept it interesting with GTP_Ph7shr in either race. :sly: DolphDrago finished 2nd in Division 1 and in 2nd Place overall. chocochocochip5 also continues to do well, placing 3rd in Division 1 and taking 3rd Place overall. gears1000 and micantony duked it out in Division 2 and in the overall. micantony took the Division 2 win in a Tie Breaker, but gears1000 edged out micantony in the overall finishing 4th and 5th respectively. Psycho-Tuber (me) had a bad 1st lap in Round 1, but otherwise had 2 fairly uneventful races finishing 4th in Division 1 and taking 6th Place overall. RacingOtaku86 showed a little jet lag after last weeks domination at Circuito de la Otaku. RacingOtaku86 finished 3rd in Division 2 and 7th overall. ian_digruve is showing what it takes to move up in the rankings by sticking it out for both races with a tough combo. ian_digruve never gave up taking 1st Place in both Division 3 races and finishing in 8th Place overall. kcjive had a competitive 1st race in the Turtle Racing League and then left the lobby before Round 2 started. kcjive finished 5th in Division 1 and 9th Place overall. GTP_tzracer, jedikeeperus, and BustedFoSho were all one and done finishing in 10th, 11th, and 12th respectively. Great racing guys!

Thoughts

The FLEX RACING SERIES is a challenging series. We do not shy away from tough races. Endurance races by their very nature are tough because they challenge your driving ability, tactical skill, and mental stamina. All of that played out in last nights races. If we are racing a car you hate, practice until you love it. If we are racing on a track you don't like, practice until you like it. Embrace the challenge and remember, race the race, don't race the car.

Oh I won't miss it! If some of you guys remember running the Subaru GT300 around Autumn Ring, Deep Forest, and Trial Mountain and all those intense awesome battles! I can already tell this Honda HSV around these 3 next tracks is going to be as good racing or maybe even better! This is a must make to these races! Can't miss them!
