➋ Turtle Racing League - RUSH | Friday Night Racing | JOIN TODAY!Open

That was a great fun but I got tired and I was was slower than everyone else in class. First race was rough. Very technical, I had so many spins. Second race was a lot of fun with Gr8 but I made a slight error and was at the back of the pack. Third race I couldn't keep up.

Thanks for the great racing tonight! I plan to enjoy it again next week.

Edit: Plus, running late really didn't help. If we have everyone try to get into the lobby by 9:30 EST we can confirm no issues by 10 and have qualifying start at 10pm on the dot. This way we finish all racing at roughly 11:25pm

Well, this is not the way I wanted to start a challenge. When will I ever learn I cannot be the winner every time I race? I need to stop taking these things so seriously...

I apologize to everyone for my attitude.

Internet trouble caused triple post.

I only feel that anxiety when I practice a lot. It's relative, if I don't practice much I don't really care where I finish I just enjoy the race. If I do practice a lot and don't do well I feel like I wasted my time practicing. Remember we are only scoring your top 9 finishes.

My season got off to an ominous start. Didn't even notice the false start was on for the first race. Totally ruined my awesome Q lap to fall behind the pack when i got that 5 second penalty
Then i was frustrated and overcooked my cold tires trying to catch up to the back of the field lap1 and spun

Spent the rest of the 20 minutes hot lapping with no hope to finish anything but last.

Oh well, it put me in p1 for race #2 at least, lol :D
I missed all the carnage at the start of that one.

False start should not have been on.

Awesome racing yesterday!

Quick review form my point of view:
AR:
Amazing! Spun out at lap 1 after a framerate drop (I think I killed @Voodoovaj in one frame, sorry :embarrassed:), made my way up the field again and then defended P1 against @RacingOtaku86 the final laps 👍
TM: I was shocked by the start, pinballed and stuck on traffic. I also got a friend standing next to me with comments like "Why is he passing you" "Use another camera I can't see the car". Nightmare inducing.:grumpy:
MF: YES. Starting from the front and alone at my room again, battled against @Voodoovaj the entire race for P1. I should have remembered from the "Silver Wing Mid-Field Challenge" that he has the nuts to pull a brake duel at turn 1 every lap . Incredible racing, he won by only 2 tenths  He got revenge from last time there.... but not for long

PS: we should make something about the starts, in TM the field was splitted and at MF Wolf was pushed off track in the higher class rush for passing at the first turn.

Ya, I zigged when I should have zagged and I T-boned you :P

Late braking FTW :D

IMHO, The GT500 guys were generally not very kind to the GT300 guys. Yes, there is 200 more horsepower, but then there should also be 200hp more talent behind the wheel. If the field were full of GT300's, the kind of driving and overtaking that happened would have gotten people kicked.

Maybe it's just me, but I like trackdays in real life (on motorcycles) and that means 1000's and 600's on track at the same time, all the time. Horsepower difference is staggering, but the corner speeds are the same (actually, the 600's have an advantage). I'm a 1000 guy, so that means I have to follow the 600's through the corners and get them on corner exit...or someone could get seriously hurt.

Here, it's just some frustration. However, the same conditions exist. The GT500's have more horsepower, but not more corner speed. I think the GT500 guys forgot that a few times. If you aren't ahead going into the corner, then you just don't have the pass and you will need to do it on corner exit. I had GT500's try to pass around the outside of me as if they had ton's more grip, but it just isn't there.

Both classes are challenged by having to contend with the other class. At the beginning of the race, we are all racing for position, the GT500's should filter their way to the front, but the GT300's are not obligated to let them by until it's lapped traffic time. At that time, like it was stated in the driver's meeting, it is the car behind that is responsible for the clean pass. If the clean pass isn't there, it just isn't there and the GT500 guys should be under threat of the same penalties as any other race.

I say 30 second penalties for dodgy passes.

The executive committee (ie Psycho and Fisher) are discussing penalties and the starts. We all knew the rules going in. Hold your position through turn 1 and unless you are cleanly past, you back off. That's Turtle Racing at it's finest.

I haven't watched the replays and i did not get caught up in any of it, so i cannot comment, but it sounded like some guys got a bit overaggressive and selfish at the starts, thereby ruining other's races. Not acceptable in this league.

Did I do anything wrong...? I feel I did. Being me and such, I always do something wrong. :ouch:

the final points / results should be posted sometime later this week.

Send the information to me and I will do it. If you have photos of the results that is all I will need. If anyone in particular was consistently over aggressive or didn't race in the Turtle Racing League spirit please let me know in a PM. Thanks!

I think it was just the starts we need to work on.

Although i haven't heard back from Zii about his off in Race 3 while next to me in turn 1. Need to watch my replay to see if i caused that, but i dont think we touched (at least on my feedback/screen).

Well, if we could have a start like Mid-Field, but keep it clean, and make sure everyone stays on track, that would be one heluva great start!

Is there a specific night for practice where we run through the races? I'm setting up my work availability right now and I want to set one day as off.

When does RUSH practice start? I set my availability to no later than 8pm on Thursday so I can be home in time for SNAIL Sunday Practice. Ahhh conflicts!!

Trial Mountain on Friday. Some guys overtook me in the same place, the let/right before the back straight. But not cleanly. I'm just posting it so everyone learns something. They took their normal line as if I wasn't there, causing a bump which slowed me down. This gave them the lead and at the same time made a safe gap between us so I couldn't fight back.

So to everyone, be more mindful when passing in left/right or inside line/outside line complexes and give extra room to get extra room. It works both ways.
