So they figured us children wanted a Data Logger and GPS Visualizer for our New Car Game 2014 Edition? :P
Ahh yeah I forgot about those. But there something most of us won't pay much attention to. :)
They got the wings part right, though. Ah, I'm kidding for the most part; with this stuff released and out of the way, I can now look forward to future updates, especially that May is approaching us. I hope they throw a ninja update at us to change those names, though... :boggled:
I like the custom wing parts too, never expected that to happen. :) Although the names being changed, I doubt it. :\ PD would think there fine.

So how does the custom rear wing feature look like? Does it give us some freedom?
Yes, custom wings are cool, I was a bit sceptical about just choosing parts, but then I saw you could change width and height too, and you can make some really cool wings.
My favourite wing so far for (on a Toyota 86) is CDB-9+11
Hey, there's an idea, a "share your custom wing" thread...

Anyway, this begs the question... what comes next? 1.07 or 2.00?

I hate to be that guy but it's fair to assume PD is going out of their way to try to cater to anybody of any skill level or age. Lets break it down, how old were you when you started playing Gran Turismo? Where you interested in cars when you were that age? I speak for myself here, but I was 6 and played the hell out of GT3 with my 8 year old car loving brother. He knew what most of the tricky acronyms meant, what the parts did and together we played it until GT4 came out. We played that until the disc broke, saved our canteen money and bought it again.

I was oblivious to most things motoring and if I didn't have my brothers guiding hand and interest GT3 would have been shelved within a matter of days for being too hard and confusing. Which is fine, PD have the money right? Wrong. Once a person, regardless of age, has there mind set on something, changing it is very difficult. GT would forever be 'that stupid, really hard racing game.' Regardless of features, cars, tracks, graphics, physics, gimmicks, marketing or anything else.

Instead I own 4 Japanese cars, partake in gymkhana and drifting events own a T500RS equipped triple screen rig and have Gran Turismo merchandise covering my games room.

It's been said that Toyota released the 86 because (specifically Japanese) kids don't think cars are cool anymore. That, right there is why PD are attacking those young and unaware players that we dedicated fans hate so much. Give them a chance to learn what it's about and start enjoying cars. GT6 can be played start to end if you're Li'l Charlie Bucket or Jordan himself. Which is a pretty impressive feat. The diehards all say 'why no difficulty slider or an easy mode, or a junior version? We've been here since the start, why are you turning your back on us?' I can't answer that, but I will say that 6 year old Hayden thought he was god's gift to racing and would have turned a slider up to 11 just to be disappointed and probably insulted when he realised he couldn't win.

We fans, those old, new, frustrated or contempt have to realise that Gran Turismo needs young players if we like it or not. GT gamers aren't a group that will die off any time soon, but we are one that will eventually move on. Be it to PC sims, family life, long work hours, new hobbies or even real motorsport. The 'dumming down' of the layout, wording and events in this itteration make it clear that PD knows that this is the case.

I have no problem seeing 'make friends' on my room menu, because somewhere little Charlie knows exactly what that means. Hopefully he'll stick to those rooms and leave the race for real servers and they're pushed to breaking point users alone.
I can tolerate playing the same damn license tests I did 13 years ago because it's little Billy's first time, and he's learning about driving.
I can even put up with getting little messages telling me whats in GT Auto or that I need to buy cars from dealerships. I won't stand back and be told I need to start with a Nissan Leaf, but I digress.

We have every right to be annoyed at PD for not updating GT6, and 🤬 for not giving us promised features. That's how you turn diehard customers into people who will never buy a GT game again. On the positive side, at least they're reading what we have to say and are fixing some minor issues as we mention them. Oh and adding little features like pimp my wing, which is pretty cool.

I'm sorry for the great wall of text but I feel it needed to be said.

Just noticed something that wasn't there before the update. In gameplay and when viewing replays, there is a white bar that runs down the right hand side of the screen. Before anyone mentions, I have adjusted the screen size to fit my display- I did that on day one. :P Can anyone else confirm?

Other than that, I like this update. The data logger will be very handy when I start doing the WRS in the summer and the rear wings will be nice to experiment with.

apart from all the crap .... crt menu to make adjustments while driving is still unusable?
the pitstop bug still there?

the game is definitely for the children and all those who now will race with aileron style pikespeak also on the shopping carts

GT is lost and when you see that programmers bother to put the ailerons customizable instead of fixing bugs that make the game playable only for "5 minutes" races with light damage... bah!

sorry for the grammar but I'm very disappointed...

I won't even be bothering to update GT6, seeing as there's nothing to the update really. I'll keep on playing GT5 for the time being.

👎

Is it the same or better than GT5 ? (I liked it in GT5 :))

I've only recently got my 3D tv so can't answer yet, will get back to you!

Honestly love this 3D option but getting the right settings is paramount, you'll get serious headaches/eye strain if you play with to much depth etc

Custom wings is going to get used for everything by me.

This is actually a really good update.

For those who moan about it because of the GPS, have you ever thought that you aren't the only GT player? PD doesn't revolve its updates around you. If you wanted something else, it might come. Just because it's a feature that you in particular won't enjoy doesn't mean an entire update is nullified.

Would it be okay if someone could run me through the kinds of things you can do with wings now? How much adjustability/variety is there now?

How about the updates actually fix the issues others are concerned with in GT6, like the pitstop bug. Why can't that and other issues be top priority for PD to work on, instead of them just adding more and more features only? Ahh yeah I forgot, they don't communicate with us. How could I have forgotten about that, silly me...

Sorry of I've missed it, but how big is the update?

Considering downloading it on my phone internet, rather than lugging the PS to my mates.

A new seasonal just went up, a time trial at Fuji GT, where you can win, wait for it, yet another Toyota FT-1.

Also the Course Conditions screen at Sarthe '05 No Chicanes still shows the red dot going the wrong way around the map.

I'll be willing to bet that we'll get everything by next month, as that is when the Senna content is scheduled to be released. They're most likely holding the rest of the content back to make next month's patch a Spec 2.0 update. Just a Theory, but could be true.

I see your point, but I also think its fair to say that the overwhelming majority of people won't benefit from the GPS feature.

The frustrating thing is not that they included a new feature that some people don't like, but that they included a feature which is all but irrelevant. It's especially frustrating considering that the large majority of fans have been crying out for more fundamental upgrades since day one and have been looking forward to features which were in GT5 but still not in GT6

Because when people ask for bug fixes, and get them, they then moan about having no content. When it gets added, they start on the bug fixes again. If you could wait, and let PD continue getting everything out that they've promised, it'll work itself out.

I really don't think people fully understand the capabilities of the Visualiser. It will eventually benefit all players, even if they have no car or don't drive on tracks.

Whoa, groundbreaking stuff! Must update now...or not.
