I may have to miss this unfortunately for me. I have to work tomorrow. I'll be getting home about 3:30ish. So if another reserve wants to step In my place. I was looking forward to this too.. Sorry. Hope it goes smoothly.
 
I'm still unsure of if I'll be there to race tomorrow. I've been recovering from illness, and though I am much better now, some symptoms linger and could prove to be too much of a problem for me. I apologize in advance if I don't show.
 
Sounds like a case of Canadian Flu, I've heard the cure is lots of beer. 👍

I'm a strong maybe at this point... The wifey made RL plans without consulting and now I'm forced to say "But I signed up for a race." :(
 
I was practicing last night online for a bit just in case I can make it. Well, I had set the room to tuning prohibited and it didn't let me on track. I didn't do anything other than oil change. So was wondering if you guys had that problem or you just gonna set the PP? I tried it again with a brand new m3 base and same thing happened. Was it like that before the patch? maybe I missed something.
 
There is an issue where if you bought the car in v1.01 it couldn't get on track because the specs changed in v1.02. But if you bought a brand new one it should have let you in. This is odd....
 
Well that might be it then. I had bought 2 but never used it until last night. So I may have to buy another... kinda stinks.


so all my cars prior to the 1.01 May not be good for spec racing??
 
I just tried it and my E92 got on track fine. I think this bug only applied to a handful of cars, shouldn't be a big issue.
 
The bug applies to the BMWs, the Scirocco Base Model, and a few others; mostly base models. I've run into it a couple of times. I recommend everyone verify that their car will be able to get on track prior to the race.
 
A reminder to everyone that the race takes place today at 3pm EST (about 2 1/2 hours from now). I will have the room open 30-40 minutes beforehand for open practice. Please make sure your car can get on track under the tuning prohibited restriction. Remember to change your oil and clear your cache before joining the room.

We will be doing 1 parade lap at 80mph to avoid any incidents from a standing start on the banking. Stay around 80mph (7,000 rpm in 3rd hear) during the parade lap and do not overtake or weave around. The lap count will be increased by 1 to account for the parade lap. The race will go green when the leaders cross the start/finish line, at which point everyone may accelerate to full racing speed.

One pitstop will be necessary since we won't have enough fuel for the full race. When exiting the pits use the access road to exit beyond the turn 1/2 complex and do not exit directly into turn 1. Cars exiting the pits must re-enter traffic as cleanly as possible and be aware of cars coming up on the other side of the armco. Be careful on the first few laps, it's a long race and plenty of time to use patience and race cleanly.

Since we've had a few cancellations we can accept a few more drivers. If anyone else wants to join send a FR to Brandon@77 on PSN and be in the room before 3pm EST.
 
I have been a little sick since the last week, so I haven't read this post during the last days. I haven't practiced, of course. In addition, in Spain the race would finish too late... So I'm not going to participate. But I'm looking forward to finding another occasion to race with you ;)

And it has nothing to do with the fact, that yours and my country (Spain vs. Denmark) are clashing together in the European Men's Handball Championship at the exact same time as the race? :ouch: :cheers:

For the uninformed, that is a rematch from last years Final in the World Championship (which Spain won) :banghead:

The room is open for pre-race practice. Since we likely won't have 16 I have left voice chat activated. We will start qualifying at 3pm EST.

Reminder: We are doing one parade lap, do not swerve or overtake and don't go over 80mph. Also, when exiting the pits pleasure use the access road and do not enter into turn 1.

Let's hope we don't have any connection issues, the network seems to be unstable at the moment.

I promise you that it isn't the main reason... But, obviously, it influences... ;)

What a match was the last year final. Spain played superbly, I haven't seen anything like that before... But this year, in presence of 20,000 Danish supporters, I don't find any national team capable to beat Hansen, Landin & company. They are playing like a really connected team, so I hope Ulrik will be happier than last year at the end of the Championship.

only issue I had was where I tried to connect it said that I was incompatible with the room host, tried again and it worked
 
I'm not sure, but I seem to be alright. Dsg mentioned he was having issues. There are four people in the room you left, Brandon; just sort of staging we can swap over when you're up.
 
I don't believe there is a race room yet. Torzilla, Mikael, racefan and myself were just waiting for notice the room is up again. I'm not in a room right now.
 
I guess it's something on my end. I've reset all involved devices multiple times and even had the cable company send a refresh signal to the modem. I either can't create a room or can't keep it open more than a few minutes.

I don't have it set to fixed host, is the room staying open after I get disco'd or does it shut down?

EDIT: I had a practice room open just a couple hours ago and all was fine.
