Didn't have time to play tonight, but I happened to look at the liveries for the new Countach 5000 QV and was happy to see a Walter Wolf livery in there. Great attention to detail Kunos, well done:tup:

I know I have very limited experience with Assetto Corsa, but I can definitely feel differences between the older tire model version 4 and the newer tire model version 5. I really like how the tire grip feels now with the few cars I have driven since the AC v1.3 update. I'm sure that I'm improving my driving skill as I adjust from GT6 driving to AC driving, but I do believe that rotation is easier to control now with v1.3. Don't get me wrong...you'll still find yourself understeering or oversteering if you come into corners too hot or powering out too early. It feels like there is an improvement to FFB in this regard as well. Cornering grip feels incredible through the steering wheel.

When you're loading up a track, I like the tips listed in the bottom right tailored to the car you're about to drive. When it's loaded, I like how there's a cycle of cameras showing you the track as opposed to circling the car.

Small things. :)

I feel like that especially the Semislicks have a little too much grip, I just clocked in my very first sub-8:05 time with the GT86 on the Nordschleife with my 'Trackday' setup. You can carry way more speed through the turns and brake later. With that being said, I've never driven a car on Semislicks before, so it could very well be more accurate.

What I've noticed though, and it's already annoying, that there's MUCH more tyre squealing, especially under braking. Has anybody else noticed this? I find this to be incredibly annoying :(

Are you running the track on "slow" grip level or "optimal"?

tyre squeal is adjusteable in the sound menu. Just tweak as you like.

Yes, there are 15 pigs screaming when I hit the brakes. :)

Also, when I break hard with ABS on full in the Huracan and R8 LMS Ultra, the wheels seem to lock up (lots of squealing) and I have zero steering input. I only tested those two cars. I tried ABS settings 2, 5 and 8 on the Huracan, but they all seemed to do the same thing. Wheel lock and wheel goes light. Can anyone shed a light on that?

Edit: That said, when applying more gentle braking into turns the ffb is really excellent and very satisfying.

Edit2: Sorted

I do all my hot laps on the "Green" preset, offers a nice balance between grip and realism methinks.

Thanks for the tips! I turn ed down the volume of it, and it's much better now, thanks! :)

Same here. Green is good. :)

Can anyone test the ABS thingy I mention above? Is it a bug, or is it my lack of knowledge about how ABS is supposed to work? :)

I found that it has also to do with the amount of brakes you're applying. Especially with the race cars you don't necessarely have to press down entirely on the brake pedal, that could help maybe :)

Yes, as per my edit in post #37, a bit more gentle braking yields good results.
But I was under the impression that ABS would prevent wheel lock even when slamming the brakes, and also leave you some amount of steering input. Or isn't that how it works on race cars? That's how it was before the 1.3 update, but maybe that was not very realistic?

My god, the tyre squeal has to be fixed pronto! Even if I'm turning in a corner at 20KpH the tyres squeal as if they're run on the max! If these were real tyres, I'd throw them away after the first 10 metres

1.3.1
- Possible fix for DX 10.1 video cards crashing
- DLC2 - Improved lowpass filter for Audi R8 LMS Ultra exterior sound
- DLC2 - Fine tuned some coast crossfades for Lamborghini Huracan and Ford GT-40
- G27 leds now turn off when exiting the simulation
- Now includes correct Linux acServer
- Fixed Nissan GT-R NISMO front suspension to correct damage under full lock.
- Fixed Audi R8 LMS Ultra ABS level 7 value typo.
- Fixed GT40 rear camber setup value range mismatch.
- Fixed GT40 dampers setting numbering
- Fixed rear ride height evaluation only using left tyre pressure instead of both
- There was a problem with the shipment of the Ferrari 458 S3 trofeo tyres. We have now put them back in your pitbox setup choices.

I sure hope they don't go to the extreme that Iracing did with tire squeal. You cant make tires squeal in Iracing no matter what you do. To me that's even more unrealistic, seeing all four wheels locked, smoke everywhere yet not a peep from the tires. I think that's part of the issue people have with Iracings grip, they have no audio cue that they are over working the tires, so after 2 laps they are sliding all over the track.

As mentioned you can also turn it down in the audio options.

Happy days! I couldn't get the game to take me to the track yesterday but today after 1.3.1 I can!!!! I'm now downloading DLC pack 2. :gtpflag:

Kunos! What have you done to my McLaren GT3? It is so much more alive.

The beauty of a new tyre model, it really feels a lot better than before albeit very different and it might take some getting used to for some people.
Luckily I didn't even have a full week of AC under my belt. So, I had no issue whatsoever adjusting to Tire Model v5. I stink with both. Seriously, the new tires are incredible. AND...the FFB feels amazing too. Car suspension feels so wonderful. I am very impressed at what Kunos has created.

New update and particularly the new tyre model ( V5) have raised the bar again. Thank you Kunos, it feels good in AC land.

I feel sad for the minority who do not get it and hope they will enjoy that other SIM, that they feel is closer to what they expect. I suspect than anyone with experience driving is smiling a lot since 1.3.

(Almost) nothing new for MP, sad for them, although if you take in consideration that only a minority are really interested in MP and that a small part of that minority group as any interest in a league, that makes very little people who really care, although they are very noisy forumites, even if it always the same names coming back with a copy and paste post again and again.

Agreed, the bar is indeed raised again.👍

I wonder if multiplayer would be busier in this game, and others, if we had a driver rating system. I spent a lot of time online in GT5/6 but don't bother with any sims outside of a few organized races simply because you never know what quality of race you're going to get and there is no way for hosts to really filter out the clowns both during a session and before even entering the lobby. It's the only thing I really miss from the GT series. The ease with which you could bounce from lobby to lobby and all the ways you could sort and filter. The lack of ease of using mics sucks too.

My expectations were not that high from the update but most car feel very different, in a good way. Can't really put my finger on what it is but I haven't had that much fun driving in quite a while. I think I'll bite and get the dream pack 2.

@Johnnypenso not sure MP can be helped, beside going full Monty like IRacing. To have any decent traffic on server you need to mix drivers with a wide differences in pace, I not even going to touch the one who are not even there to race, hoping for the best. It is not a good recipe for fun and close racing. It is not specific to AC, actually most other SIM have no traffic at all on their public server.
MP is a good concept, but in practice it just plain does not work.

I rarely bother with MP unless it's with close friends to be honest. Anyway, this new update is great, really like the new tire model. I also play PC regularly and maybe it's just me, but it feels like tire models of the two are slowly converging on each other (which wouldn't be a surprise if both are aiming for true life) with each update, especially when it comes to progressive grip/slip. The new cars drive and look absolutely amazing, and sounds-wise, I think AC is the absolute best right now, other developers should take notes here. 👍

Something about AC just feels so "right". It seems to be able to communicate better than anything else out there, and the way cars behave feels so natural.

And also as the road car list in AC grows, my interest in GT7 (for the road cars which traditional PC sims never delivered) diminishes.

Never mind. After full reinstall, including removal of folder under My Documents, ABS now works as expected.

Anyone else having problems after the v1.3.1 and the v1.3.2 update? I can't start AC anymore unless I force 32-bit (menu).

No problems here, running 64 bit Windows 10.

Regarding the new tire model, I think it feels brilliant. You really need to warm up the car now. Is it just me or do the brakes improve after being warmed up too? It feels like they get better with temp but I wasn't sure if brake temp modelling was in AC.

Regardless, great update. Cars feel very natural to drive, and the progression to grip loss feels better. Did about 5 laps in each of the GT3 cars around Spa to compare the feeling between them and see how they were compared to the old model.

There are others having the same issue and I believe for now the only fix for people having issues is to run 32 bit.

I didn't even know there was a v1.3.2 update. Does anyone know what was in that update? Obviously, it's bug fixes, but is there a change/fix log?

EDIT: I was wrong...it wasn't just bug fixes. Nice.
