My only concern is the buyer taking full advantage of buyer protection and making an early bogus claim that I'm scamming him. I had a Hong Kong buyer complain in the 4th week of delivery, asked him to wait just a little longer, and he never responded back ever since.

It's heart-breaking when you go as so far to provide photo proof of the package which contains both our addresses and reimbursing them for overcharged shipping, and still have them not buy your honesty. What more do you need?!

If things do go south (no pun intended), I really hope eBay will allow me to make a statement on the matter because anything the buyer will say will mostly likely be false.

I wish you luck, and while I wouldn't get too nervous yet(probably just delay + holiday season), but with international stuff, instead of just your domestic carrier, you have your customs, their customs, and their domestic carrier handling your package. This is why I don't ship international. On eBay, I let them handle it(Global Shipping Service or whatever), because if things go wrong, they take responsibility & buyer pays the inflated shipping to cover the fees for this service.

I get messages from eBayers all over the world crying from countries that eBay Global don't cover, but for me, it's a simple math. If I know you, like Andy in Canada, or Ben in Australia, I'll do it, but for total strangers, I'm not going to take the risk, or put my feedback record on the line for a sale I'm not desperate for.

I had Tomica from Hong Kong disappear after the customs there(this one had tracking). I want to say that it showed up something like 2, 3 months later? By then, I had received refund, can't remember if it was from the seller, or eBay. I tried contacting the seller to pay for the item again when the car showed up, but he was non-responsive.

Again, I think the odds are, it'll turn up in another week or two, but I'm sure it's nerve racking.

Unfortunately if you don't have a tracking number as proof of shipment, they will side with the buyer. Been there done that.

Did they give you customs reference number? From the U.S., I could use the customs number on the form to track packages online.

@a6m5 @Spacegoat Looks like I definitely check them out.

Also, didn't realize TLV had this Crown. I've only seen the ambulance around... Wish I snatched that during the Damaged Box sale.

I need to find one now.

TLV needs to make the S60 series sedan and wagon.

I still have all the receipts from the Post Office, and I did snap pics of every paypal label I printed out which I sent to all my buyers as proof to them I didn't forge some crap to trick them. Paypal labels can only draw up address info from an eBay transaction (which we both know happened).

I'm not worried about delivery being lost. I'm worried the stupid buyers won't realize December is a slow month and start filing reports to eBay.

I just got another message from a buyer asking where their stuff is... This one's in Thailand.... SIGH.

Next time I list items, the cheapest I'll go for international will require tracking at least.

If I know you, like Andy in Canada-

Yeah, you still hesitate on that...

Any reference number on that receipt you may be able to use?
Yeah, you still hesitate on that...
Yeah, that wasn't the customs...... j/k You gotta stop bring that up, because every time, I'm not even thinking about it until you mention it. Besides, I think you gave me bunch of money & that always makes me happy.

Not the first time Volvo came up on our TLV wishlist. That's crazy.

Man, only if the diorama was 1:64.
Best I can do for now, but its more of a place holder until my actual 1:64 diorama is finished. The latter one will take quite some time.
So true, but still so money. 👍 I also like that Datsun. Super nice find, @Johnny1996
Thanks. Its from Maisto's now discontinued Fifty 5's line. It was the only car from that series in the store, plus its a Bluebird, so why not pick it up?

Wow. That thai buyer already opened a case on me before waiting for a response. This is going to turn ugly.

No there is no reference number on these receipts... well a google image search shos a sample receipt with one. Mine doesn't have it. I'm going to stop by the post office tomorrow after class to chat with the PO lady.
You gotta stop bring that up

I'm sorry for being a jerk about it. I will try to, but it still bugged me that someone I've socialized with for this long doesn't have trust I won't flip out about lost mail or something of the like.. well that's the sort of message I'm getting if I may be honest. :indiff: If I am mistaken, I apologize.

Yes I deliberately gave you extra last time, because I felt bad for nagging you like a spoiled child for that Jaguar which (I felt) deserved more compensation than you asked for.

BRE looking finish too, wasn't it? Very cool.
Should clarify it's the Kujira Crown. :P
Oops. :dunce:

Worse than dealing with slow customs: Impatient(and usually unreasonable) buyers.

Oh, I wasn't even talking about that. You have to remember I'm lazy. I can't be bothered to wait in line at the post office, having to fill out the form. I'm used to using the automated kiosk(no line, fast). Besides, I usually don't have anything you want anyway. I'm sorry that I'm lazy. :P

I had a buyer recently (I didn't share it here as it was non-diecast related) that bought all my AZ Diamondbacks bobbleheads. I boxed them up securely and shipped them via UPS. Got a message when he received them that a couple of them had broken, and that one of them had an "imperfection" on it which I didn't describe in the auction listing and that my "Great Condition" in the listing was a lie. He demanded a partial refund so I agreed to refund him the costs of those three items. He paid $100 shipped for the 12 bobbleheads. Shipping was like $30, so $70 divided by 12 = roughly $6 each. Apparently that was not good enough for him, he wanted $40 back or he was going to open a case against me. We went back for two days on this and he would not give in. I even offered to submit a damage claim through UPS and refund him the shipping costs if they refunded me.

Unfortunately I didn't purchase insurance on the package, so I gave in and sent him a whole refund along with a message saying "enjoy your free bobbleheads". Never heard from him again. Ass hat. Not a real loss to me as I got them for free for attending the baseball games, but I have a strong feeling he broke them on purpose (what he showed me was easily fixable) and had planned this whole thing out. I have yet to submit feedback for that sale, and I don't plan on it. He hasn't either, and I don't really care.

I thought UPS was insured to $100.

Edit: Yeah, dude. I've filed a claim with them before(long story, super lucky). They will likely require you to forward the shipment to UPS though(for inspection). Sounds like it may be too late.

Edit2: My lucky story.

-I sell re-refurbished Onkyo DVD deck on eBay.
-Buyer says it's dead-on-arrival.
-I ask UPS: You guys don't insure for that, right?
-UPS answers: Send it to us, we'll look at it.
-UPS inspects, denies claim.
-Me: Disappointed, but expected.
-UPS: Absolutely destroy the thing shipping the DVD deck back to me(deck nearly in half lol).
-Me: "hey, what the hey!"
-UPS issues me full refund after all.

If you aren't sold on the Oversteer Miatas yet

Didn't say I wasn't sold on them. If their GTR is any good I may grab one of them and whack Miata on back order or something. Don't know we'll see.
Does stuff take that long to arrive from North America?

Honestly, it may sound strange but I can't recall. It's been so long since I've bought anything from N/A. 4 weeks does sound little long, but as you said December is a slow month, so maybe that's too be expected for this time of year? Sorry I couldn't be of more help, best of luck with it.

Oh and @a6m5 these happened today. :D I've laid off on the BRZ until you can get your picture up too. 👍

It's too late. I also got jipped years ago on a PSP sale that said it was delivered but the buyer said he never got it. Filed a claim and PayPal sided with him, refunding him all $150. That was a period where I told PayPal to F themselves and canceled my account with them.

Sometimes I even wonder why I bother. Even this week, have my old display cabinet for sale on craigslist and some lady was really interested until she found out my apartment is on the 3rd floor. I offered to disassemble it for easier moving, or to even have it on the bottom floor waiting for her and she still declined. Total waste of my time. My last response to her was "sounds like you were never interested in the first place" and she didn't respond.

Bringing this stuff up right now isn't helping either, having one of my "I should sell everything and quit" kind of nights.

@Spacegoat - Wow, they look fantastic. And on the van, white still does look better. Let's do the BRZ tomorrow. I need a close up of those sexy Tomica rims.

I absolutely missed that part about the GT-R. I hope I can get one of them, too!
"I should sell everything and quit" kind of nights.
I want to, I just don't have the guts to. Let's both quit together. I'll sell everything, except the TLVs, select high end Hot Wheels & select Kyoshos(don't even look at my Circuit Wolf Europa, @RCKakashi14 !), GLs, JLs, yeah, maybe some other night, but I mean it this time.

I would keep going with M2/AutoWorld/TLV type stuff, which isn't really cheap to begin with, but considering how much I have spent on HTF HW lately, they're probably a lot cheaper. It's just that the secondary market for HW, especially the JDM stuff lately, is getting WAY out of hand.

C'mon guy. That runaway stuff is weaksauce. Even with my current situation, I still wouldn't just throw in the towel and self destruct. First, I'm going to fight that jerk, because it is totally unfair if I have to refund him entirely.... Maybe I'll keep in touch with the facebook groups. If anyone posts a lot of the cars that happens to be everything I sold them. I'm exposing that guy.

Oh my bad. Thought you may be been referring to that bobblehead scumbag.

Yeah I'd give up on HTF HWs... some anyway. We've been seeing more and more of the tainted side of Hot Wheels collecting over the course of the past year. There's so many scumbags involved in it now. Scalpers, hoarders, thieves (the ones who swap cars and return it and the ones taking stuff off the production line), and assholes who can't spell. I just hope that doesn't spread to other brands.

Cool beans. 👍 All ready got my picture ready to go but it will give me time to do a little something else...Also how good is that Dream Tomica Fiat? I'm really impressed with it.
I'll sell everything, except the TLVs, which I'll give to Jarrod.

Fixed because I'm sure that's what you meant to say.

I feel so bad, because it never crossed my mind. My bad.👍 Fiat? I can't believe I got that for base Tomica money. It's such a funtastic casting... and it's a Fiat!

Regarding the "quit collecting" mood (for lack of a better word), I'm done with HWs except $THs and Premiums starting on Jan. 1. I'm running out of space, and at the rate I buy mainline HWs to HW Premuims and higher end 1:64s, I'd actually be spending less. I currently plan to keep about 90%-95% of what I have already and sell the rest, which has actually been my plan for a couple of years now. :indiff:

EDIT: That's "spending less" money on Premiums and higher end 1:64s as compared to mainline HWs.

funtastic casting...

It is. The weight of it caught me by surprise when I first opened the thing and the detail. Nice. And yeah, total steal for the price. Thanks again for reminding me about that one. 👍

I don't even know what you are talking about right now.

Scumbags on that HW Traderz Facebook page. After all I said, I don't even know why I even follow that group anymore. I can't find good offers (minus that one Shelby Cobra), and there's always the two major conflicting factions:

1) The ones who make unreasonably high demands.
2) The ones who just feel the need to rudely call out these people.

Both factions tend to be folks who can't construct proper sentences, but are loud mouths.

I'm still cheesed about the eBay thing right now. And because this stupid thing kept me busy from homework for a good 3 hours, I'm really cheesed.

I'm going to call it a day on GTP. Have some cheese, pretty please:

Ferrari 330 P4

2011 Kyosho Ferrari Minicar collection 8

Ferrari 599XX

I just seriously went through everything in my displays and wrote down what I would list each lot for and if they all sold for at least that number, I'd make over $1200. Some I think, like the Datsuns would go for much higher.

Despite the dollar signs dancing around in my head, this would really be one of the toughest decisions I would have made in my entire life. Its not easy.

I want to, I just don't have the guts to.
Its not easy.

You won't do it unless it's out of necessity. In the end, even with all the bad stuff happening around, it doesn't overcome the fact that we enjoy having these little useless pieces of metal with us, and some of us even still play with them (read: customizing), and yes, even if it would be pretty damn good to have an extra $1,200 lying around, you'd most likely just end up spending on these things again over time. Maybe differently, but you'd fall for it again because you don't really need to sell them to survive or something lol. And besides, we all like them. So stop whinning and get to spending  and if you have to deal with asshats along the way, yeah, just be done with it and move on.
