Getting close!

You crazy.

I like TLV cars in general, but this one's one of my favorites, even if it's not the 240Z(I'd have preferred that, also).
Dude, look at it from the direct side profile. It has a short ass.

I duplicated the old shot of my Idemitsu set with my Shell set. :D

Ah, I see what you are saying. I don't really have any issue with it though.

Yeah and so is Christmas. :P
No, I did! It looks great!(pics later)
Freakin love the wheels on that, so much. Suits it perfectly.
Couldn't agree more. Money in the bank.
CM's SS.2 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 1991 Ivory Coast
I have a similar car coming in all CM's lot, but something's different(can't quite put a finger on it). I guess we'll find out soon enough. 💡
There were shots fired!!
Routine!
Did I hear mention of an Oldsmobile?
You didn't let me down, Harry.👍 I don't recall seeing you post this one before. Maybe I just don't remember.

Still think my kitchen table suggestion is better. :P Seriously, cool idea though. 👍

You are a much more patient person than I am. It's awesome anyway.

The kitchen table is even more kitschy when you read the post and learn it was done at my in-law's home in Arizona while I was on vacation. The set up here is much better, but you do what you do...

Let us know how that goes. It really is too bad with the chips. Some of my nicer Kyosho holds some imperfections too. I know that feel bro.

I was sure you would see chips in the Camaro. 99% of the time a Toy Fair model is being sold without the case, it was a factory reject.

I had to....

How much does the Shell truck usually go for?
There is no price range for this one. You could go for over a year without seeing one for sale. Japan Booster made them available on eBay, and around the same time, Plamoya got a couple. Plamoya sold theirs for I wanna say around $108? I got mine from eBay for the similar price. Going off memory, one of Japan Booster auction topped $200, another one close to $180?

After my TLV ladder truck was damaged in transit, I asked this Hong Kong eBay seller to package my $100+ TLV carefully...... He squished the TLV box diagonally in a box that was too small, resulting in creased packaging. My luck with the Chinese seller's been really hit & miss.

I'm Andy again. *ahem* I didn't suspect it until I discovered the chips. Lesson learned.

Yep. New Alto. :embarrassed:

Yeah, I'm definitely not gonna be getting one of those in the foreseeable future.

And just another risk you take with buying on eBay. :indiff:

Yeah. Even the red one, my Idemitsu, I paid close to $70(shipped). High premium on these trucks.
I've been looking on Japan Booster's eBay recently and just not found anything that has interested me, even money aside...
If not Japan Booster, AmiAmi has some nice cars(they accept PayPal checkout). I usually search for "Tomica" or "1/64" to see what they have.

Prices marked are "yen", but you can always search for exchange rates on Google.

I call hax. Sick tanks and Crown. 👍👍

Mine came with a base split in two. That's gotta be it.

January TLV batch is out:

I sense a massive Cedric addiction continuing, the Mark II's look really good, but the treats are the colors on the '56 Crowns. Can't wait to photograph them. All should be here by Friday...

And about more sporty cars, I would love see TLV's take on cars like the RX-3 or heaven forbid, a C110, but they will be stock, which will keep a lot of the JDM collectors here uninterested. And while not always the case, a factor that goes into what TLV decides to do is to do what hasn't been done. Actually, that is a bi product of the overall philosophy for the designers: Do what you think is interesting.

Some if those "sporty" JDM's are the equivalent of Greenlight doing another Mustang. Sure they look good, but they have been overdone. We have seen two new brands doing C10 and C110 GT-R's, while TLV releases a '56 Crown and '86 Mark II. How great is that?

And that is why the 260z 2x2 is such a cool choice. It is definitely a more interesting choice. And with the mags, holy moses. Although my favorite remains the white on steelies.

All that said, the upcoming GT-R's should scratch that itch.

I love that Mark III with the side panels! I think it works better with those wheels than the last one.

I would love to see TLV make more 90's cars. Such as the Nissan Cefiro, Toyota Celsior, Honda Beat, etc. etc. :D

Hey, a post from me that actually includes a 1\64 scale model! Woooot?

Actually, here's the story: Just went to a shopping mall earlier today, and the supermarket there was doing a super cheap special, with a lot of random crap for about 1€ (That would be around the $1,18 mark for you 'Muricans). Saw some of these:

Eventually, after seeing that one of the cars was a Tesla, I decided to dig in and try to find one for myself. Plenty of packs were already open, that's not the right way of being a good customer people. And it was only one freaking Euro, why would you try to get one free?

Anyways, my mother sees me frantically searching the packs, and asks what am I looking for. I tell her "I am looking for the Tesla." She starts to search, and eventually finds one pack, touches around with her finger to find if it was a convertible car and tells me "I think it's this one, it doesn't have a roof." So, trusting her gut feelings, I take the pack, she pays for our assorted batch of groceries, and then go to the underground parking lot. Once in my father's car, I open the pack.

And?

Thanks, mom. :D

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to curse @a6m5 and @jtl46 for their gob-smackingly beautiful TLV Toyota Crowns.

Curse you, curse you, curse you, curse you... :dopey:

You can tell what's in those by looking at the printed number on the front (usually in the top right corner somewhere) and matching it up with the number next to the car.

"Looks at pack, sees number 40"

Bloody hell, you're right! Although the number is in a horizontal angle to the pack, and there is also a "F 44 /" next to it, there is a 40 in there. Good tip. 👍

Yeah I think Mattel started doing that when they were having issues with people opening the packs. It still happens, but not quite as much anymore.

Makes sense. Although the place where I was had already 4 or 5 packs open and without any cars in them when I got mine. And there weren't that many to begin with, so you could say I was very lucky to get the car I was looking for...
