This is probably 1 of the best threads EVER!, just looking at some of the collections has brought back so many memories of my childhood, not only do i admire the collections but also the custom work you guys do to these things... i only wish i had the time, skill and patience to be able to do what you guys do.
I recognise many cars that i used to have in my collection, that unfortunately i no longer have.. (gave a lot of them away quite a while back), i have started a new collection though over the past few years, my collection is really nothing special.. mainly newer Hotwheels/Matchbox, i think the oldest car i have in my current collection is my one and only Majorette, it's a yellowy orange Lancia Monte-Carlo Beta.. (will try and get pics... at the moment though, they're buried in the attic), i suppose the only rare example Hotwheels i have are dated from about 2001 onwards (and in no great number but in great condition), my favourite 1 of my collection though, is the Lupin the Third 3 Hotwheels/Charawheels set... i'd really like to open it to see the detail of the Fiat 500 with opening engine compartment... but can't bring myself to do so.
I think the oldest cars i had in my previous collection were the old Lesney/Matchbox, red & white tow truck, (i think Cano has a similar 1, but the only difference was that mine had the skinny old school wheels on it), and the other oldest 1 in my previous collection was again a Lesney/Matchbox (with the same skinny wheels) Merry-weather (or fair weather... i do forget) red fire engine.
Anyway i was hoping to pick some brains here.. what it is, is that i remember having a 1/64 diecast Porsche 928 widebody (must have been from around the mid 80's) and i can't for the life of me remember what make it was... what i can tell you about it, was that it either had Majorette 3 spoke wheels or 4 spoke design that looked very similar style to that of the Majorette 3 spoke... the cast itself was metallic silver in colour and the base was black plastic, the passenger/driver windows were open, whilst the windscreen/rear and b-pillar windows along with the headlights were a blue transparent plastic.....
Basically, i've searched the net to try and find pics of the unknown diecast (i remember cherishing it when i was younger... but lost it later in life), so i was kind of hoping some of you guys could help me identify what make it was... although the casting, to me seems really good, i've got the sneaking suspicion it may have been of Chinese origin, anyway, i've posted a quick pic i did of it yesterday from the best my memory can remember.... i'm sure the tampo/graphics were'nt exactly the same as what i've done in my sketch, but you get the general idea, so please if anybody can help me with this.. i would appreciate it a great deal.

(EDIT)
Well, i gave it another shot and have finally found out what make it is... after finding the correct body shape and tampo/graphics (which i got wrong BTW
![Big Grin :D :D](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/biggrin.svg?v=3)
), by doing a pic search, i found 2 Polistil cars but of larger scale.. 1/24 & 1/40 but strangely, both were missing the blue headlights and the 1/40 scale was missing the rear wing, which again i found very strange, also the wheels were different.
Anyway after a further search of Polistil, i've managed to find the exact model that i remember from my childhood... all that i need to do is somehow find 1 for sale... i've only managed to find 1 on a japanese site (don't know whether it's for sale), and 1 that existed on e-bay (but is no longer for sale).
I don't know whether anybody is interested but here are a couple of pics (PS, the pics are'nt mine) oh, and also i got the scale wrong... the 1 i had was infact 1/55 scale.
