Kyosho 1:64 - Porsche Dauer 962C Le Mans*

*Kyosho named the car wrong. It's named as Porsche 962C whereas it should have "Dauer" and "Le Mans" in its name since Dauer Sportwagen modified those 962s for road use in order to comply with homologation regulations.

Excuse the absolutely awful photo. But some grabs from a flea market in Vermont whilst I was on my trip to New York.
How hard is it to find the Matchbox Alfa Romeo SZ? >_>

Well, if you dig online you'll find thousands available. Of coruse, if you dig online you'll find 5,000 dollar redlines available.

Finding it on the (I assume) cheap, in a fleamarket, in good condition is quite a good find... altough I might not be the propoer guy to say this because post-England Matchbox cars (Macau, Thailand, Bulgary et all) were very rare here in Mexico. I'd say those are way more common in your part of the world. Still great grab, love the thing, have two myself. I also understand the Martini-like 930 is not easy to find, the most common vesions of that car are silver and metallic green. Red GT1 isn't common either, you're much more likely to find it in white. All in all good grabs, how much?

Paid 50 cents on the Alfa from a single vendor. Then...the rest were from two other vendors at a total of $2. I've got another red 911 GT1, but it was missing it's spoiler.

Dude, you almost got paid to take them away. Absolutely killer deals 👍

And now time for something a bit different (don't worry, it's only in brand and quality, I will not disrespect the size limits);

Turbo Action Chevrolet Stingray III Concept

Ok, I don't really know what possessed me to buy thi... wait, I actually do. First, I was overcome with a bout of extreme curiosity, as I had no knowledge regarding the existence of this concept car. Secondly, as I was doing groceries with my mother, her special supermarket card was only a few euros away from offering her extra fuel money for doing groceries whose total cost surpassed the 40 euro limit. She only needed about 1,45, so rather than buying gum or something along those lines, I went and bought this. Weird idea, I know, but when you have the chance, why not?

As for the casting itself... It is what it is. The head and taillights are both painted in, they're not separate plastic parts. And you gotta love those oversized Corvette logos, right? Still, it earns some bonus points for novelty, if anything. Although I do have to question one thing; this car is a convertible in real life, correct? After buying this, I'm making a quick search with this car's name and all I see are pictures where the car has no roof. So, did Turbo Action (whoever they are) made a blunder, or were they just too lazy to strip the car of its roof?

Well, at least there is a base for the car... Sort of.

Now it's worth 1,46.

Actually, the car cost me 1,49 euros (my mother only needed 1,46 to trigger that whole "bonus fuel money" thing for her supermarket card, guess I should've clarified that in the first place). So, I've earned 1 cent just for the fixed roof alone. Now I'm in possession of a very rare 1,50€ car. Super rare stuff, almost unicorn-like.

Also, I've been tinkering with the way I take my pictures. What do you think? Is it an improvement or simply rubbish?

Honestly, having an error on that level makes the car worth having. At least for me. Even if it is a cheap model company. I mean, just having that proof of how crappy they are is cool in its own right.

You mean "worth having", not "with having". (Grammar police speak) ;)

But yes, it is a rare car, despite having a brutally inaccurate error in its casting. It accidentally made the car unique, of all things.

Also, check my question that I've added on the post before yours. What is your own opinion?

Yes, I do. Sorry. I'm on 4 hours of sleep and morphine.

As far as the question concerning the pictures, my opinion is that taking them in front of the window creates too much glare. It's hard to make out some of the details.

Fair enough, sorry if I sounded a bit too rude with my correcting.

Also, I do guess that the sun's glare does pose a few issues. My main issue is that the room where the window is is one of the few rooms in my house that have more natural light (the place where my PC is, the living room, has no natural light at all), so maybe I should try to take the pictures in a place where the light is, but not directly in front of the window. Or maybe just go outside the house and find a good spot to take the pictures there, I dunno...

@Niku Driver HC, Go for pictures by the window if you like having the strong highlights atop and lack of lighting on the side, but try to set up your presentation space so it doesn't immediately stand out as a shot by the window.

What are you looking for with your photos? Just sufficient lighting?

Hot Wheels brings back the Lancia Stratos. Good thing some boyo already took 'em off my hands!

Well, I'm just looking for enough lighting that doesn't come from a tungstein lamp, to put it in simple terms. Natural light that can make the details of the car (i.e. colors and/or any interesting parts of the car itself) look natural enough.

Also, I dig the Stratos, regardless of the paintjob. Although I do have to state that I have far more interest in the 370Z and the Corvette Stingray...

Do you know how to use Photoshop, GIMP, or have some knowledge/understanding how certain image editing functions work?

If so, are LED flashlights cheap and accessible where you live?

If so, do you have a camera than can adjust either ISO or shutter speed?

If so, do you want to produce photos like mine and will be interested in learning more?

If so, you can shoot me a PM.

I have some knowledge, although most of it basically amounts to basic things such as auto adjustment and such. But I do have both GIMP and Paint.net in my PC, yes.

As for the LED flashlights, I do have one, if that counts for anything.

Okay so....

Did we hit a "no" somewhere? :P

Well, I'm not all that interested in pursuing a professional phographer career just yet, but I am willing to hear your tips out. After all, you know me; I'm the sort of person who believes that you can always learn something new from all given situations, no matter how often they repeat themselves.

But yes, I do have a camera which allows for ISO adjustment (but I don't think it comes with shutter speed adjustment as well), and I would like to know how can I improve my pictures somewhat.

More cars off my dusty shelf, this time a very rare Majorette Citröen SM, still made in France of course, that really wasn't as filthy as the other cars as I also grabbed it from time to time and cleaned it a bit with mah shirt.

After a relatively easy clean-up, inwhere the hardest part was cleaning the interior, this is how it looked:

This car is part of the left-overs of that incredibly amazing collection that slipped right trough my hands while I went to the auto-cashier to get some money, in what is still the darkest, grimmest day in my career as a collector:

In this pic we can see that it's missing two extra foglamps that whould be in the front bumper:

Check out that monospoked steering wheel:
19451898245_d080d699b2_b.jpg

I love that this thing is wider in the front than the rear just like the real thing. Pretty good casting.
19456164441_a4e5c650c9_b.jpg

Note the earlier base, with the car name and brand trapped in a "border", and devoid of the usual holes in the sides in which we can see the small tubes used for the suspension of these things. This tells me this is quite an old casting but mine is a later version due to the 3-spokes and yellow glass. Also note the thinner tires at the rear.

Well was just browsing the Hot Wheels newsletter group and I just happened to see this. There is one car that really stands out in the bunch....
