Sorry for the rushed image quality, I'll watch a movie this afternoon.

Nevertheless, this is my catch for today:

Also, I do want to see if a fellow car collector also shares your opinion... (cough @AOS- cough) :sly:

I'll commend your efforts on going through the trouble of setting up a backdrop, but if larger paper (like 11x17 or larger) isn't readily accessible, do you have access to large fabric instead?

Also, is GMP Greenlight?

Acme (parent company) and Greenlight joined together to revive GMP when it went bankrupt in 2011.

First of all, thanks for the commendation, much appreciated. Secondly, the larger paper I remember having is A4-size paper, so I don't think that there is larger sheets in my household, and most fabric that hangs around has decorations emablazoned on it... Looks like I'll have to thoroughly search for some sort of white fabric, I'd reckon.

Latest additions. TLV Nissan VGT, TLV Audi Police car and Choro-Q Land Cruiser.

You know something, Goat? Screw you. :irked: :dopey:

But seriously, very nice haul yet again, that red 2020 is gorgeous beyond belief... I had been talking to @a6m5 about how interesting the color choices within the TLV version are, and how he really wants to own a red version as well, so it seems that you have beaten him to the proverbial punch, haha. Not only is it cheaper than its 1:43 counterparts, but TLV NEO's 2020 has the best range of colors. It's a win-win situation for Tomica! 👍

But the Audi isn't half bad either; the proportions look good as well as the rims, and you don't get to see scale models of police Audi 80s often...

Oh, and thanks @Cano for developing the whole "drag Topo story" thing for me, it seems that the North-American drag scene still hides plenty of secrets that I am not aware of... It's a good thing that knowledgeable hot rod people like Cano hang around here, to explain such things to scrubs such as myself. 👍

Get creative. It doesn't necessarily have to be white fabric.

Towels, blankets, sheet metal, anything goes.

"Get creative", eh...? Well, I'll keep that in mind, let's see what can be done in terms of setting up a scenary for them cars...

Edit: Enif, who does 1/43, got into 1/64 with these Toyota Crown Athletes:

ENIF60005-604x300.jpg

Another Japanese brand going smaller with 1:64 cars... Looks good for sure, eons ahead of a basic Tomica and slightly better than Kyosho's, but price will be the deciding factor for Enif's sucess with this.

Aw heck, guess the differences in shipping times between Japan-Australia and Japan-Slovenia are much bigger than I thought.
I don't expect my VGT till next week. Possibly even later than that.

Thanks.!

I know a6 had ordered the red VGT and the Audi as well. But I can't recall if he's paid for them yet, he might be waiting for another item or two to come in first? Hell even if he has, everything takes so long to get to him from Japan, I was bound to get mine first. Sorry a6. :P

Yeah, it's nice to see TLV doing something a little different than the usual Japanese stuff. They nailed the Audi too, it's pretty perfect.

That's EMS shipping for you. I paid for them last Thursday and they arrived five days later. Crazy!

Mine hasn't even left Tokyo yet. Shipping notice was 3 days ago.

The waiting must hurt, especially when you so much respect for Nissan as a company, I bet... Hopefully things will get sorted out eventually, the car can't get stuck in Japan for that much longer.

Edit:

Greenlight Muscle Series 15

A nice set of castings, my main favorite is the Yenko Chevelle, being a Chevy fan just makes wanting such a car even sweeter. The GTO and the Charger don't look half-bad themselves, mind you...

Thanks.!

You're welcome, you lucky sod.

So we should expect some pics of both from Shinji as well, eh? Interesting, looking forward to those. Being in an upside down country near Japan does have its perks, it would seem, since you can get all the fresh cool stuff without much waiting in between release and delivery dates. Am I right? :sly:

Well, they already had the Beemers and the VW Golf GTI II, so adding another mid-80's-to-early-90's car to their lineup is most certainly a welcoming addition. It does help when Tomica treats those "gaijin castings" with the same level of quality as their finest JDM work, of course... There's nothing in that Audi that I would change, it's that well-nailed. 👍

That fiat dragster a couple pages back.... *drool*

Stumbled on a jetsons capsule car at a dollar general this morning... shocked i actually found one... there of all places

The TLV Golfs had some detail issues, but the rest of the German releases have been pretty good. Even the "flashing light mounted on a sunroof" is correct on the Audi police car.

Sure hope so! Both models deserve a couple of pics each. :embarrassed:

There are some benefits. That one probably being one the best, yes.

Well, I've just seen Lamley's own pictures, and he loved the darn thing as well. Chalk one up to the "2020 VGT appreciation list"... I'm sure that Shinji will share the same feelings towards the car. :sly:

Nothing like easy-to-purchase thingamajigs, darn it! I wish I had that privilege...

Maybe I'm a bit jelly of those who can afford TLVs that easily, no?

You copied my order EXACTLY. Even the Land Cruiser Choro-Q. AND you get them before me. What kind of black magic do you practice!?
Edit: Enif, who does 1/43, got into 1/64 with these Toyota Crown Athletes:
Those look better than the Kyosho 1/64 Crown's. Tempting....
I have the Kyosho in pink? I've had the same car by Enif on preorder as I was curious about the quality difference. Kyosho is average at best considering the price.
Mine hasn't even left Tokyo yet. Shipping notice was 3 days ago.
Used to be one day, and another day to L.A.(then over a week there ). I don't know if it's the holidays or what, but now, my stuff takes around a week to leave Japan.
Sorry a6. :P
Then why it always followed by a "lol"!!!!

What have they screwed up on the VWs? I'm just curious, but I do have three of them & I adore them. I've considered them some of the most realistic 1/64 scale cars, but it's not like I inspected them really closely either.

It's not worth driving on the wrong side & upside down. And no baseball.

I think John from Lamley is aware that he is a TLV fanboy...... I think me & Spaceboat belongs in that category as well. :D

You wouldn't have ordered that one if I hadn't told you about it!

Sidenote. Out of the three Choro-Q's I have. The Land Cruiser is my favourite now. :embarrassed:
Then why it always followed by a "lol"!!!!

Because it's funny. :P Sorry.

I should post a car..... *goes to look*

How about couple of them:

 More here(this is the best shot though).

Just messing around. :P

Because you don't have certain Isuzu Choro-Q yet. :P
Because it's funny. :P Sorry.
Oh, well. I'll live.

Curiously, the silhouette Skyline was my first Choro Q. Well thefirst one of the "modern" era, not counting the made-in-Mexico ones I had when I was a little brat. Have picked up a couple more since then. Freaking things are cool, even the wife approves.

I wouldn't want to collect them full-time, but as general hot wheels/minicar collector, Choro-Q is nice, relaxing change of pace. :D
Awesome.

Still too pricey for my tastes.
I just want you to be happy.
