Oh I wouldn't either, but someone will. I missed selling at the top of the market on my datsun bluebirds and my veyron. I noticed the tesla getting more than the average car, so I wondered if it was just trendy or people speculating. I'm going to sell though. Need $ for kids and cars. :gtpflag:
 
I just want the Mazda LM55. Already got the TLV 2020 concept, and we all know Mattel won't get anywhere near the same quality out of theirs.

I could just wait for the vulture food via retail stores + scalper grabs.

I'll bet there will be a surplus of Corvettes and R35s. I'd like to see how Mattel will do with the LM55, and how it will compare to the Furai casting. If it can pull off sharp edges like it did with the Furai, I'd go for it.

I'm down, because we all know these will be next to impossible to track down in stores and secondary market will be ridiculous.

Already got one Nissan VGT model, got no real need for another. Slightly interested in the LM55, maybe. Everything else is pretty meh.

Not really. This is a lottery, not a first-come first serve. I don't think it's considered scalping if you bought 200 tickets at your local lottery draw. It's just increasing your chances of scoring scarcer goods. There is still the possibility of not scoring anything. Plus, he could actually just list them at 99 cents and let bidders decide its value.

Though I could be seeing this in a strange way, so feel free to pick it apart.

Which one of you is willing to do the order? How should we distribute the cost? Cost per item or an equally divided cost of the total order?

Is anyone else wanting to join the bandwagon?

When should we close the due date? We don't know when preorders close, so we may want to secure something soon.

Oh hang on, I'm a dummy. It's $35 for the SET of 5. I kept thinking it was a case.

Case of 16 assorted at $67. At the moment, if we split that between the 3, it's $22.33.... But we can't divide evenly. It's going to be two of us getting 5 cars and one getting 6.

If we get a fourth person, we can distribute it to 4 cars per person, cost being $16.75 per individual. Not a bad price for securing 4 of these.

Can someone else join in? Math dictates it would be wise to hop on. :sly:

An alternative option I thought of: we can divide the cost of the case per number of items. In other words $67 / 16 = $4.1875 per item. I suggest this so we can pick and choose what we'd like to have and there wouldn't be an obligation to take X amount of cars.

This can cover the case if we get more people who want to chip in.

If we choose this option, it may be wise to decide right meow what it is we'd like out of the case to determine who can get what based on the availability of individual items.

For me, I'd like to at least have one 2000GT. I wouldn't mind a Hakosuka, RX-3 or Kenmeri, but I can go without if things go that way. I don't have a real desire for the Wagon.

I'm not looking forward to the 2000GT-R as much as the others, but I definitely want the RX-3, 510 wagon and the 2000GT-X. Maybe x2 of the 510 so I can put one on my desk at work. Question is, what exactly does the "assorted" case contain?
 
The higher end cars like these tend to be a certain number of each car per box, and all boxes are usually the same. Standard mainlines are indeed random.

Then this is good news :)

The thing releases late spring so we have some time to wait for a fourth person to present themselves... if there will be one. If not, we'll just stick to the 3 of us... and have our selves extras to sell or mod.

I was checking out twitter & it's full of people buying up sealed cases of those Kyosho lotteries. Mixed feelings. If that happened at the store I like, they didn't have any because somebody cleaned up the inventory, I would not be pleased.....

I would be interested in joining but I see a problem splitting 1 set among 4 people because:

Case will include:
  • (3) - 71 Datsun 510 Wagon
  • (3) - Mazda RX-3
  • (3) - Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R
  • (3) - Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-X
  • (4) - Toyota 2000 GT
Obviously everyone wants the RX-3 so it looks like it's best to split the case with 3 people

I can live without an RX-3. One less new casting to add to the collection means less procedures and coding I have to do for my blog, though it's not really a whole lot of work. (but it's less work still!)

AOS Collection Policy #5-78 states: The car it replicates must be one Andy really likes. Should he have the slightest disinterest, the model is automatically blacklisted and will not be given a second thought. :P

So yeah, sorry, Shindude. Gotta stick to my commitments.

Fair enough, so which cars are must haves for you? Also if @R1600Turbo and @MedigoFlame could also indicate the ones you guys really want out the set so we can get an idea how we gonna split it

For me it's the RX-3 and Hako and can do without the 510 or kenmeri (obviously everyone gets a 2000GT)

Edit: oops I guess I'm out :lol:

All good, prolly gonna end up getting the whole set
