I'm somewhat disappointed about the "demise" of HW's planned Mazda LM55 release, that had interesting potential with these so-called "premium" castings... Well, whichever that Ford GT may be, hopefully it can deliver. And the 2020 may very well be my closest shot at buying its scale model, unless Tomica suddendly gains an official sales network in Europe. I want to find that one, to be honest.

Neat picture of Greenlight Chevelle & TLV Subaru 360.

It's a shame that @a6m5 didn't wait before buying the big AA version of the GT. Think of all the money he would have saved! :dopey:
You make it sound like I bought only one. I know what you mean. lol :dopey:

Well actually that's a great point. You could have bought two of the HW version and painted one white. Even more money saved!! :P And nice shot of the Chevelle and Subaru. 👍

Seriously though, I don't even know what we can expect from the HW Gran Turismo Ford GT.

Thanks! It's cool to see gigantic 1/64 castings, but I equally enjoy the smallest ones. :)👍

Actually, please don't.

And I'll agree with this guy, he knows what's up. It's like having a photo album of minicar treasures, and they just keep on coming! What a gold mine Kakashi found... :drool:

And speaking of gold, today was a joyful day for me. Yes, the weather stinks (rain and clouds everywhere, typical Winter weather around these parts), but I got to see the very same Tesla Model S P85D which I had spotted last year, once again. I am not a fan of most electric cars but man, that car has quite the presence.

However, I digress, because the key top moment had been set up earlier by a certain phone call; a call which told me that a certain little car which I had been looking for over the later half of 2015 was finally up for grabs, and one was awaiting me whenever I could come to the shop. So, being the patient person that I am, about 40 minutes later I was on my way to Valongo to collect my long-awaited treasure. And here it is, without further ado;

It's the 1451, the latest model from...
...oops, I need to give its name away properly, don't I? But I'm sure those with a keen eye already have a good idea about its "mystery" ID;

It's the SIKU 1/64 Alfa Romeo 4C!!!

At long freaking last, the Siku car I was so eager to have finally comes home to daddy, and I couldn't be happier. It's a wonderful casting, sturdy but good-looking, and comes with two openable doors for my eyes' delight. There is not much more I can say about it, the design is one of the best I've ever seen from a modern car, Siku captured its feel perfectly. Obviously, the rims don't match the real thing, but that's hardly a reason for me to hate it. I just love the 4C too much to nitpick minor details...

Even the store owner who allowed me to get this car now thought I had waited to long, and even gave me a discount in the car's price to compensate for the long waiting period which I had gone through. Yes, it may have not been the first Alfa 4C scale model which I got, that honor going to the BBR Top Marques model that was gifted to me last Christmas, but this is still worthy of celebration in my book. Now, onwards to my next long-term goal; get a Tomica Limited Vintage model...

Oh, and speaking of my BBR 4C;

Ugh, I don't want to be a downer, the Alfa looks like a good casting, but Siku have really dropped the ball with their wheels. Not too long ago they had a nice mid ground going. On the one hand all of their wheels were molded in the same gray plastic, but the actual designs were nice and realistic. Good examples are the Karmann Ghia and Mercedes 300SL (both stunning models for the price in my opinion).
Now they seem to use a few standard designs for all their cars, no doubt to cut costs. And just look at what they did to the Mercedes!

I understand what you mean, it is clear that Siku is cutting costs by trimming down the number of designs in lieu of using better materials to make the current rims. It is clear that in terms of rims, neither Siku's nor Matchbox's own 4Cs have decent replicas of the car's actual rims. In the same shop where I bought the 4C, I also saw the Fiat 500, the Porsche Macan Turbo and the Porsche 918 Spyder, which all share the same rim designs. Compared to my older Siku Citroen Traction Avant casting, those rims lack the realism of their real-life counterparts. And the newer 300SL is the greatest offender, it's as if the car was given a set of tuner rims...

But alas, it seems that this unfortunate trend is here to stay, so I'll stick with my 4C for now. At least the body has yet to lose quality, right?

I actually quite like the wheels Siku use. Granted, they're not realistic to specific models but they really do suit some of the casts (imo).

Just got an email from Hotwheels for RLC. Not interested. But they are releasing a retro series exclusive to Target. All I have to say is I had a crisis over the VW.

I can see why, the VW is also my favorite car from that set after looking at the full list. Bar maybe the Hurst Olds, all the other cars just don't tickle my fancy. Plus, the SP2 casting is surprisingly neat and good-looking...

I'm interested how the Porsche 930 will look like from the second set as well. But that VW, that's a must have, even I have to ebay it.

Same. I agree with @Apok on the Mercedes, I think it looks fine on Alfa.

Same email, noticed the same car, Ken. :lol:

Sold this this beauty last Sunday.

One of those I didn't mind keeping, but one I could make profit from, despite how marginal it may be.

Also, it'd be nice if I could get my lighting setup back like this again. Spotlight, shimmering edges, lower angle, strong cut shadows.

Saw them at one store over the weekend and you could collect the whole set if you wanted, except for the Datsun. Which doesn't surprise me. Edit: Or the Titan, didn't see that either.

Was hoping that we might see the Pontiac Aztek from Breaking Bad this year but it doesn't look like it. Oh well. :indiff:
How about them Walking Dead cars. Really? :crazy: That Mustang with accessories is a maybe, but I was really hoping to see the horse Rick rode into Atlanta, or the M1A1 he hid inside soon after. OK, it was actually Dale's camper I had hoped to see. :P

Edit: I forgot to mention Jesse's Tercel wagon. Been wanting that one for while now.

That's literally the only vehicle from The Walking Dead I want to see in 1:64 form! Everything else, pffft.

Yes totally, forgot all about that one. 👍
