Yes, it's a lovely model, but it will set me back a lot of money, and my dad will call me crazy if I spent over $70 AUS on a 1:64 scale car... (I say this based on how much the Skyline R30 Super Silhouette costs)

I can relate to that, really. It's an incredible model by Tomica; wonderfully accurate and beautifully detailed, but anyone interested in it must pay dearly for such a gorgeous car. And knowing how popular and expensive the old TLV Super Silhouette models (Bluebird and all the Skylines) are in today's market, this Silvia will sell like hot cakes. Quickly and very, very expensively...

Not really familiar with your currency, but you maybe referring to the secondary market prices on the Super Silhouette, like on eBay with the Skylines & Bluebirds. I think they were $30+ when they were new. After new supply exhausted, then you had to pay premium you see now(U.S. $50~$80).

Having said that, those older Super Silhouettes were released I think at least couple years ago? New one I think will be in the U.S. $45 range. My guess.

I still don't get tired of seeing that TLV 2020 car. And I don't think that I will in the foreseeable future... The car design itself may not be the preetiest or the most unique, but the way Tomica reproduced it is worthy of a medal. And now time to ponder (again) how great will the car look with a purple body...

Ah, and the Alfa is a nice casting as well. Somewhat simple paint finish, but it is a good casting.

You can complain about the lack of non-Nissan Super Silhouette models, no? No Savanna RX-7s, no Celicas... :lol:
 
Still on the fence about the latest MX-5, MBX casting does look great though.

I've been complaining about the lack of news or info on the Silvia Silhouettes, since we first saw the prototype pics back in May(!). Non Nissan Silhouettes might have to be my next thing now, great idea. :lol:!

Well you know what they say, don't rush the artist. After all, looking at the way the Silvia turned out, that delay between prototype pictures and the real thing's release was more than worth it... Also, you're welcome, all you need to do now is pick a suitable candidate to promote in front of Tomica.

What do you mean, there aren't any cool Super Silhouette cars which aren't Nissans? I'm sure there's something out there... :lol:
 
Went to a supermarket today and found the Hot Wheels with a promotion (they are roughly 2€ a piece here in Portugal) that I would buy 2 and take a 3rd for free (I did the math and it really was the case). I had them in my hand, but I didn't take them. I regret my decision. You guys made me weak to them again...
