Went grocery shopping and right in the front door they had a huge display with Hot Wheels everywhere since they are on sale for $.79. Large majority of them were old, stuff from last year or earlier this year. But I did find a bin that had a new J case dumped in, so I grabbed the white Hellcat Charger. Nothing else caught my interest.

I just dropped one of my favorite cars from my Desert Island list, and it is now featured in the post by itself. I think you can see why I like this one so much.

That is exactly what it is and I can vouch for it being a decent casting. have two mint ones and other waiting for restoration that has served me as a paint mule for a couple of months.

Went from "must-have, all-cost" to "I may buy it if I see it in stores, probably not."

Incredibly, this series is starting to pop up in stores over here and for quite cheap, like $2.50 a pop. Haven't reached any stores near me yet but you can be sure I'll grab all of those as well as the Twinky-like fuel tanker and as soon as I arrive home I'm gonna drill them out and drop them directly in the paint stripper bucket.

edit: biggest difference I see is the tail lights and the overall mold of the UCC is sharper in some areas, but also isn't tidied up (there's a lot of seam lines on the front end).

With that said, this debunks the speculation that Kyosho is contracted by UCC for these models. Those models don't have the brand name imprinted on the chassis up to this day.

edit edit: Euro Style 2016....did Mattel put clear packaging stickers on the blister to prevent people from removing the blister via acetone? Did they just step up their product authenticity game?!

Guys, if you get hold of any premiums, verify if it's just my store or if Mattel is really doing this.

My Japan Historics arrived taped on the sides as well and I noticed the Retro Entertaiment cars also had tape

About the Retro Entertaiment cars, are they 1/64s? They look a little bigger than regular HWs to me

I wanna see this tape. Sounds interesting. @Speedracer8218 I think just about all Mattel cars are whatever fits inside the plastic bubble/blister. Loosely 1/64-ish, but lot of times, not really.

P.S. Who makes the Bimmer concept thingy? Looks very nice.
