what do you think of the update[/QUOTE]

i think i have this Aurora but its a 2001 model ill try and find it and post a pic

Oh wow it's about time I found this thread. I've been officially collecting these since December 2009, and as of now I currently have 158 cars, and 151 of those are actually licensed ones (I focus on those for collecting). Some possibly interesting details of my collection are that I have 19 Speed Machines (2010 series), 4 2011 HW Garage, 1 Vintage Racing, 4 IndyCar Series (2 from 2009, 2 from 2011), and 1 Ferrari Racer edition cars. The rest are either mainline HW/MB, or Greenlight 1:64 (Motor World/Hot Pursuit Series), as well as a Shelby Collectibles '10 GT500.

Yeah, the real cars are the best! 👍
I wasn't suggesting a business thing nor did I suggest anything to be done daily. :odd:
It's more like a forwarding service, helping each other build on our collection, if one region tends to get stuff that I don't for example, I can ask that person to buy one for me, and send it to me, and I'll pay them back for the car and shipping.

Shipments can be lost and stuff, that can't be helped, but it's not like fortune went to waste since shipping a tiny toy car can't cost a whole lot.
I understand that. I was just suggesting that, with a group of people, say the payment or shipment fall through, there will always be that guy who will raise stink should something go wrong.

Members who trust one another, or a member who wants to gift another member, this is already done. My comment was rather directed at setting up something to encourage it, which I'm not personally sure if it is a good idea.

With that said, I almost want to buy a Hakosaku off one of you guys.
Maybe when you at least learn how to say the name correctly.
did anyone read this
Come on now, seriously. I did like the station wagons.

So, this exists:

Japanese Nostalgic Car
The list thus far includes new castings such as the 1985 Honda CR-X, Subaru BRAT, Plymouth Arrow (Mitsubishi Lancer Celeste) Funny Car, ’87 Toyota (which is likely a pickup), ’85 Yamaha V-Max, and a retool of the original A60 ’82 Supra

We call that being an "attention whore".

Don't do that.

LOL. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Frostyboys - I am so jelly about your filthy Aurora. And several others, too. This thread moves fast, so be patient - don't think we don't notice, ok? Personally, I've always enjoyed the info you bring in here - always fresh, new, colourful. . . . So, just continue with the good work, man.

AOS - don't Preemies already have the ability to advertise, buy and sell in the Trading threads? Don't we have a sort of mini-eBay function around here?

I see we have new collectors coming into the room by the score! SVX! Refreshments!

I have a ton more new oddities to display - be back later. (when the West Coast wakes up, haha.)

Cheers, boys! Be kind to yourselves.

ooooooooo I'd go there RIGHT NOW, I already see three cars I'd have in my hands already. Tell you what, take pics when you go and I'll take a look and tell you which ones are worth getting.

Unfortunately, I already left the house when you posted this. And I forgot to bring my camera, sorry. :ouch: I'll bring it next time if I can. The flea market didn't seem to have that wall with those pegs, but it had a small stand instead. Bought eight cars and I'll post them tomorrow. Most of the cars were from the 1990s, but I was able to find some discontinued models like the Viper SRT-10 ACR. :dopey:

"Yes, sir?"

Have you guys ever considered trading cars amongst each other to help each other build their collection? For example, different regions will get certain cars more likelier than other places. Just in the past 2 days I'm seeing people post pics of cars (in multiple amounts) I have yet to find here.

Obviously it wouldn't be worth the money to ship one car at a time, but you get where I'm going with this? I almost want to start some sort of trading system (not here though).

Thats a cool idea, AOS-. To tell you the truth, a few of us have actually done it (I know Cano has traded with someone on GTP).

There’s a few transactions that take place here and there in this thread, but it is carried over to PMs, I believe, since openly initiated advertising/selling/trading is only open to Preemies at the Trading Forums. (Been there only a couple of times so not too sure about the finer points of the policies.) I don’t think it is expressly forbidden to arrange trades via PMs.
In fact, I have offered to send spares I have to members on and off myself - but just as a give-away. Quite often I would come across something, while shopping, that someone else here was whining about - (insert whiney voice: waah...neverhaveIT!!) - and I would think - ’That’s just a buck. Wouldn’t cost a lot to mail either. Maybe he has something I don’t have.. . .’

To all here:

Obviously that’s half the fun of collecting - trading. Ahem . . . do I need to bring up Pokemon?
Having some sort of Trading thread specific to HWs would be awesome - I see so many cars I would love to trade for. But like some of you have noted: there is the whole creds/rep issue. How to control that. Ultimately it’s a matter of trust. And what if one member isn’t satisfied and starts running down another . . .etc, etc; many complications.
My advice? Maybe AOS- or Cano, or someone who’s been here long enough to know their way around, PM Jordan and get some advice and/or ideas. It’s his site - I have a good feeling he’ll be only too happy to at least read what you have to write.

And now - on to more ’serious’ topics! Like pics of finds!

If you do trade, make sure you make a back up gamesave on a USB before you send it so you can duplicate the car. :P

Yeah, I've gotten stuff off other members of this forum, namely slybugga and Wyvern, who sent me cars for free! Of course, I'll send him back a couple of those restored which are now, today, in their final stage of development, with the holes for the rivvets already drilled. I'm only waiting for the epoxy on the axles to dry to close them deffinitely. I also sent some stuff over to J-Pap all the way to Australia.

yes here though I'll get 2 auroras and svx can put it on the first post (a trade thing)

Nice. Now pass it over.

Edit: Cano - Imparable was opened as soon as I read your post; you’re right, he leans - like riding a ’bike.
The guy must have crossed over from MotoGP to LMs.

Yes, and I'm going to start ignoring your posts if you keep doing this, so stop.

Yeah I know, but that was a while ago and there are new faces here. I'm down with setting something up in the BST forum, but how many of you honestly look there anymore? Not many, right? This is why I'm bringing it up here first before committing to it, getting a gist of how many people are willing to do this.

Count me in. I’m all for trading via mail. That would be fun.

Or Cano can do a few runs over the border.. . .

Check this out: 1/64s from Hasbro:

And this from MB:

I was happy to pick up the Caddy, and the lime green Evora, too:

I posted a while back that I must have at least 200 MBs in packages. That puzzled me because I know that MB have a very limited line of models. And IIRC MB drops a model before they add a new one. So I went back into it and rummaged around and realised I had doubles and also packs. This are of course all going to be open, except for the doubles - which are more for trading or for resale deep in the future. (Post World’s End, at least.)

The other reason for doubles and triples is, of course, modding:

Sup guys - i sorta scored big with the finds this weekend (well, by our standards at least!). I managed to find the 2012 Camaro Super as well as the Willy's regular THunt, 2 Ken Block fiestas and a host of other 2011 and 2012 cars as well as a couple Matchbox and a sweet Majorette Fiat 500. Check out the PDF in the zipped file...

Ya, the addiction is back :P. I need more!

My purchases from the flea market. These are probably not that special but I was just going after real car models. Probably should have purchased the hot wheels MX-5 as well. >_<

And my old FC RX-7 from Maisto. (An old favorite of mine, as you can tell by the many scratches) Apologies for the quality, my cheap digital camera can NOT focus on small objects...
EDIT: Fixed the image.

It's not that it can't focus on small objects, it's that you put the lens too close.

Is that Viper on the bottom right?

that's not the same car as Forsty's, this one belongs to an earlier series called Hall of Fame; obvious differences are the wheels, for starters.

I'm going to wait until the end of the month to the routine around town one last time before the semester ends.
