I ended up in a Walmart earlier and two premium Star Wars cars were on the pegs. But something was majorly amiss; there was no blister pack. The cars were literally taped to the cards with packing tape. Definitely a new one. I wish I would've got a photo to post but I didn't think of it until after I was halfway home. As for buying cars, I didn't get any.

Was looking forward to this thing, but what the heck is going on with the area above the rear tire?:yuck:

Well, on the right side of the car it seems that Mattel is trying to replicate the fuel cap, which unfortunately is made in the same color as the car, hence the weird visual effect it produces. Case in point;

I don't know why is there some sort of "dot" in the middle of the HW car however, it looks like... well, it looks like a strange nipple, I can't sugar coat it.

It's not really the fuel door, it's the really nasty replication of that body line that runs from the tail light to the door. It makes the rear wheel arch look flat like this:

Fair enough, I stand corrected. Either way, it's certainly an unfortunate detail, and I don't think it's one that can be fixed before it hits the shelves either... I guess HWs have stopped having detailing issues with the front end and moved them to the rear of the car.

Kinda kicking myself for not picking up the flat black Lotus. Oh, well. You can't win them all.
Thanks for the info. Glad to have the earlier versions then. 👍
Porsche Turbos have small wheels that look ridiculous on the wheel well.
It's never bothered me. Mine I think came from the Porsche set, but I'm pretty sure they are same casting & I do remember the four small wheels. As for Kyosho, I don't have the Kyosho version, but Kyoshos are generally hard to beat. I should post the Johnny Lightning version sometime. You should check those out on eBay or something. They are pretty cool if you like that Porsche. 👍

Recent online pick-ups. Looking at 'em closely, both Porsche Turbos have small wheels that look ridiculous on the wheel well. Debating whether or not to sell them and pick up a Kyosho 930 Turbo instead. :/

I'm interested in those Auto World Challengers.

Thinking of adding this for the free shipping. Anyone have the model below? How is it?

Don't think the model is superb. Its a rare/valued one I would think, but the casting looks as unattractive as its NSX model.
Is the matchbox Bentley continental only in silver or did it come in other colors?

Plenty more. Go to my blog (see signature), zip to the bottom of the page, click on Previously Owned, find the Bentley, observe all the colours.

Thanks for the insight. Also see from your blog (great stuff, BTW) that you have the black Kyosho 911 RSR. How is that one? And are the tires plastic or rubber?

I wish I had that one to compare with these two. May end up selling those Porsches regardless, since last night I won the auction for this!:
I was gonna snipe that last night, but I forgot to.

P.S. Not a fan of that Kyosho casting.
@shellac10 I have one of those Porsche in red. Doesn't look as bad wheel wise tbh
Mine's red too. 👍
*The more you know*
That jingle's still stuck in my head!

Yeah Kyosho has a high average for me amongst all 1/64 brands I've spent money on. Tires are rubber. (thanks, BTW)

Oh yeah - Just get Kyoshos.

That's a Kyosho. This is a JL:

It's not bad honestly...

but get into Kyoshos. It seems there's a decreasing demand for them.... Also, I do have extra Kyoshos I can pass up if you are at all interested (nudge nudge PM me)

Ha! Thanks for not sniping! The yellow/black/white 911s were all too rich for my blood. Also considering this Fairlady 260Z through Japan-Booster:

see guys... no BUGEYE style headlights...

and that looks GOOD for a 2+2 model... around what would one of those run i wonder?
*off to browse ebay for a while

You can find the black one for about $60~$70 range(shipped), but I'm waiting for something closer to $50. I have only yellow so far.

P.S. That TLV Z, I can get behind.
Wasn't even aware there was a jingle.
WTF.

Good choice. That 260Z is a nice model, I must say.
Best part is up front, how it says "Make America Great Again" on the hood in Japanese.
