but I like the vintage stock look. :embarrassed:

You're wrong but fair enough.

J/k :P:tup:
I fell victim to this April Fool's day joke:

I saw you retweet that. It had me fooled too. On second look, I suppose that the number on the box should have given it away...
Anyone else jumping on that one?

Yep, already got one on order. As cool as it is, it's one of those that if I didn't get it, I'd really kick myself because you just know it's going to be very popular. Same with the police version the following month.
I did my own just little while ago, but it was a last minute thing with a pedestrian effort & creativity. :(

Nowhere near as a good as your Desert Island April Fools. That one was the best!

The nine pack looks great though. Nice work.👍

Thinking of pre-ordering the TLV Mazda Cosmo Sport (since I'm already in too deep with three incoming TLVs). Anyone else jumping on that one?

Not feeling the hood, but bought it anyway.

Not bad. When was that?
These are the 2 that sold on Japanbooster last month.
Yeah, I realize that they go for lot more than $30. Looks like mine was from last November:

I was going to bid on one of those but the price went to high for me.
I have two now(this police vers., plus yellow), but I'm just thankful that they are releasing those two new colors!

You want what others want.

Sounds right, ya?

Good! Now it's going to cost you $90.

Is there a way out?

Yes. You buy yourself one of these:

The all-new 2017 Hot Wheels Tarmac Attack from the Tooned series.

Brand new colour scheme. Only $1 + tax.

Stands out in the collection. Costs less than lunch. Will beat any TLV down the orange strip.

The police 912 was the first DIY TLV I ever encountered. (You have to mount the red flashing lights on the front bumper)

I felt like a total dunce when I commented on that photo and then saw his response:

Skipping the translation, this is how he did it based on the photos:

Ugh, if only that was true and not an April Fool's joke. :indiff:

Leaving next week to Vietnam. There will be a stop at the Narita airport along the way. Wonder what they might have....

@RCKakashi14 That looks interesting! Haven't heard much about the Coffee models since the Mercedes and Nissan packs. What else do they have now?

UCC and BOSS are butting heads for years in regards to these promos. And I don't want to bring up that horrible coffee taste when I bought those two UCC Mercedes cars last year in Japan from a Lawson convenience store.

BOSS and UCC released Lamborghini sets, while the latter also released the RUF collection.

While it's great there's someone who went and made it, that's pretty blobby though!

They're missing the side exhaust it seems!

Here are the cars in the Audi set:
Kakashi-Sensei, will you let me feature this & the Audi on my blog dude?

That Audi is not ready for its close-up.
I totally agree, but it is so cool that such a car made the selection as a freebie with the purchase of "can coffee"(very popular in Japan).

I really want to try UCC. It's sworn by by a lot of people.
For a second, I thought you were talking about the model cars. UCC was my favorite, but it was also the most common one around. I still like it, but it's nothing to write home about. Because god blesses me(lol), I have Japanese grocery store ten minutes from me. Guess what I'm picking up later this week. :D

もちろん ;)

Anyhow, it's rare to see those coffee promo cars as consigned items, even in HK.

In Japan, Akihabara is the best bet, and they are available as consigned items in those glass cabinets too, sometimes tucked behind Anime figures.

(Minus the coffee cans, of course. And no, I AM NOT DRINKING THEM EVER AGAIN. :yuck: )

I'll swap you NZ food for some :P

Obviously. Who'd want to see coffee cars over anime figures?

Believe it or not, even the toys inside those glass cabinets aren't organized.

Let me share on how to get them in Japan. They have a system on how to buy those consigned items:

1. These glass cabinets are quite small, and are stacked like boxes. They have a corresponding code each.

2. You can't just approach a store clerk to get the desired item for you. They'll give you a piece of paper and a pen.

3. Write down the cabinet's number, and the code of the toy.

4. Once done listing down, proceed to checkout and the clerk will get the toys.

There are tons of stores with such system in Akihabara. And prices are heavenly cheap.

As much as I dislike interacting with people, even I find this a bit too anti-social for a business. Damn!

Thanks man! 👍👍 These coffee cars are such unique animals!
I AM NOT DRINKING THEM EVER AGAIN. :yuck:
You should try again, see if they grew on you. :P

OMG, I'm starting to think they are so overrated, but I can't wait to have one now. I haven't bothered picking one up in YEARS.

I find this part the most surprising, but I guess it is the home market after all.

Andy, you should get a job in retail. j/k

It's actually the opposite with the Japanese auctions. Private sellers are pretty reasonable, while the consignment shops tend to pad the sale with outrageous shipping and the required consumption tax.
