It's not all bad. Whilst I was off sick, Majorette's Australian instagram page posted that Morrisons in the UK were stocking a new range of street cars, and for just £1 each. So I've been seeing UK collectors happily snapping them up and I've been stuck at home.

I came in today and none were out on the shop floor. Working there has its benefits though, as I know where to look in the warehouse. Truth be told, I would've bought most of them, but I only went for the T6 California, 4C Spyder, 650S, Audi R8 and Corolla.

Decided to go to a different Wal-Mart and found these:

I was mostly interested in the Renault, Honda, and the Mercedes, but I decided to just say screw it and get the full set.

Also popped into Kmart just out of curiosity, and low and behold:

Still a few K-Day cars lying around. Pretty surprised to see these here almost a month afterwards, though seeing how little traffic this store gets I probably shouldn't be.

These are what I decided to get. The RX7 was quite the shock since I thought they all would've been gobbled up by now. Even though I don't like having duplicates in my collection I just couldn't pass it up.

Swung by Toys R Us today. Saw Majorette Nissan GT-R for the first time. It's hella lot cleaner looking than GreenLight, and it's half the cost. The color was too much for me though, I passed:

This was $15 on sale, I almost did it..... but it's marked for Porsche & the sticker was really cheap looking. Pass!

I wanted to buy this for Spacedog Down Under as he's a big fan of Gulf liveries, but I have strict rule of keeping his gifts under 25 cents, so no-go.

Finally, two items I did buy today:

This "Hobby Shop" was $4.99! I think the detailing looks good, too. GreenLight is worth about $5, so I didn't have any hesitation towards this cool little tow truck. Terlingua Mustang is a rare buy. I can't even remember the last time I picked up something from the Shelby Collection!
There's no "I" in team.

There is a "me" though. :P
Likely story!
VXR
I found my first ever treasure hunt last night, where Asda had refilled with old case cars (blue MX5, white Focus RS for example). It was only a grim Fandango, but a TH is a TH in the wild.
Where is the pic!?!?

I would get tired of it fast, but I don't mind little Trap 5 here & there once in awhile. Don't know what FTE2s are *checks list* "Faster Than Ever"!!! I want more of those, for the tracks!..... I used to think Hot Wheels were stupid. My nephews got me hooked. I definitely thought racing hot wheels on tracks were dumb. Today, I definitely enjoy racing against de nephews. It's amazing I'm not hooked on Pokemons & Yokai Watches yet(had to buy two Yokai medallion books for them today at TRU). :nervous:
We can't be friends anymore.
I'm in the minority on this, right? Yabi sounded off earlier on this one, too. I can't stand those things! :yuck:

That's a pretty good looking set actually. If you ever want to forfeit the 25 cent gift limit, I'd be down. :P

Trap 5 and the FTE2s holy 🤬 I've hated them ever since I saw them for the first time. :yuck:

Agreed. I'm not much of a fan of either.
Gave this one to the son, and he put it in the "dump bucket" straight away :P

👍

As for wheels I dislike, the classic 4-spoke RR comes to mind. It just looks wrong to have a classic wheel style with large diameter wheels and low profile tires. The lip is also way too big, and it kinda ruins some of the cars that have used them IMO.

As mentioned before, the FTE2 is also pretty fugly. However, some wheels (for me at least) depend on the casting they're paired with. For example, the RR Aeros look great on this:
hw-car-culture-porsche-1978-porsche-935-78-2.jpg

Not so much on this:
DWH67_01.jpg

The ones I love the most would probably be the 8SP RR (I don't think there's been a casting those wheels haven't looked good on), 7SP, original RR, and 5SP;bonus points if they have lettered tires.

You're gross! WSPs are one of the best.
In real life, I was a fan of BBS rims. These hot wheel rims are yucky.
Also how much is that 1:18 gas pump?!
It was $9.99. I considered getting the Shell one, but I have no use for it.
Right.

And this..
On the latter, I totally understand. Like I said, I like them once in awhile, but wouldn't be able to stomach too many, too often.
Not a bad car. But lots of loose parts. Just like those Honda engines Alonso uses!
Definitely genuine GreenLight, not a knockoff. Congrats!
Gave this one to the son, and he put it in his "dump bucket" straight away :P
I almost bought the U.S. Mail Jeep from the same series, because it came with a mailman figure. Man, the side tampos looked like they ran wet sandpaper over it several times. Again, pure genuine GreenLight, not a knockoff. :P $5 for mailman figure was too much, so I passed.
That's a pretty good looking set actually. If you ever want to forfeit the 25 cent gift limit, I'd be down. :P
Like I said, stickers were definitely 25 cents level. Maybe I'll get you the sticker, but only if you let me sign "Japanese Larry Bird" on it.
Be true to your heart Spaceballs!

Forgot to ask but how's the wing? :dopey:

Japanese Larry Bird.
Japanese Lamley.
GTP Lamley.
Shinji.

Any of those will do.
Be true to your heart Spaceballs!
Spaceballs?

I need to watch that again. Been years since I've seen it.

I bought this today. Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment version's been little more than I wanted to pay, so I was going to overpay, I was going to do it right! :dopey:

My real name is a6 m5, everybody knows that!!

"I see your schwartz is as big as mine...."
I've never seen it.

:dopey:
Pontiac GTFO....

Seriously though, if you like Star Wars, you need to see it.
Japanese Larry Bird? Hahahaha
It's a play on a line from the Family Guys, when Peter referred to himself as the White Larry Bird.👍

Forgot to ask but how's the wing?

It comes in two parts. Its GreenLight straight though (which is better than TLV straight!) :P:P

Also, the IndyCar certainly looks nice @domalorite. However, it should've come with a removable engine for the full Honda experience! Don't tell me that wouldn't sell... :sly:

If it did, there should be a dozen included. They will just fall apart when put in!

Alonso is just jinxed using Honda engines. Real pity for such a talent. But I have to say that Honda do seem to making *some* progress. Wouldn't it be funny if Toro Rosso beat McLaren next year?!?

I bought another 4 of the Majorette, so 9 in total from a strip of twelve. I picked up the Aventador Roadster, Fiat 500, Mustang Boss 302 and the yellow Wrangler. I left behind the 2017 Ford GT, Reventon and a Silverado. Their Ford GT is really quite awful.

I really want their Subaru STI in street and rally livery next. I think I need to do a group shot, as I have quite a lot of theirs, old and new.

Ya'll are welcome to post more than one least favorite wheel type if you want. After all, I did say "wheel types" and not "wheel type". :P

Least favourite is by far the Trap 5.
Trap 5 and the FTE2s holy 🤬 I've hated them ever since I saw them for the first time. :yuck:

Agreed. While they are efficient if you want it to move fast, they are butt ugly in terms of looks! :yuck:
List is cool, but I hate too many of the wheels on that list. Some, hot wheels rims I like, some I can't stand. :yuck:
Feel free to post about them!
I think so.
I like those wheels personally, but that's just me.
As for wheels I dislike, the classic 4-spoke RR comes to mind. It just looks wrong to have a classic wheel style with large diameter wheels and low profile tires. The lip is also way too big, and it kinda ruins some of the cars that have used them IMO.
Those aren't my favorite real riders, but I do like them though. I can see why others don't however, which is fine.
As mentioned before, the FTE2 is also pretty fugly. However, some wheels (for me at least) depend on the casting they're paired with. For example, the RR Aeros look great on this:

I have mixed feelings about them as well. Some castings they do look better on than others, but they haven't been around very long though.

If it did, there should be a dozen included. They will just fall apart when put in!

Just like reverse origami! Isn't that so culturally correct?

And actually, I came up with an even better idea; the engine(s) would come in pieces and you would have to build them before putting them in the car. Think TLV wings are annoying? Wait until you have to make your very own 1/64-scale dynamite powerplant...! And then watch as it falls to pieces as soon as you finish building it...
All joking aside, perhaps a new blank sheet is what Honda needs to improve. If Toro Rosso's patience is strong enough to endure being said sheet, that is...

As far as mainline wheels go, in no order here are some of my least favorites. (I'll post my least favorite Real Riders later) I already said why I didn't like TRAP5's/FTE2's.

PR5. I don't hate these wheels, but they just have never been a favorite of mine. I typically think most castings would look better with most other wheel types than these and I think they have been far too overused as well. I really am not a fan of how recent castings have these wheels black with a colored outline, I think that looks even worse. Not my absolute least favorite, but not one I care much for either.

Y5. Pretty much everything I said about PR5's except I don't think these are overused, but I care even less about these than PR5's.
22049905_1659797270720493_3949969757288557242_n.jpg
OR5SP. I don't hate these wheels either. In general I think they are "okay", just not great, but I think they are crappy compared to the ORSB wheels(Which I love) on offroad castings. I wish they had continued using them instead of introducing these because you don't even see ORSB's on offroad castings anymore since these came out. Just about every casting I see with these I think would look a lot better with ORSB's than these.

^I never have thought these looked as good as these:
ORSB's_-_6157bf.jpg
^These I like!

I've never seen it.

:dopey:

If you get the chance, you should check it out. It's a classic.
I bought this today.

Good stuff. Feel free to throw in it with my 25 cent Japanese Larry Bird signed Majorette sticker.
My real name is a6 m5, everybody knows that!!

That's because of your passionate love for Audi and BMW products. I'm aware.
"I see your schwartz is as big as mine...."

Again, it's classic.
(which is better than TLV straight!) :P:P

👍!!
