This is good times.

It is just an optical illusion that it’s crooked (maybe), but it’s an unfortunate situation we are in now that we can make fun of TLV.

The premier brand in 1/64 die cast is now being ridiculed, and it started before the 787b.

This is bad times? :(

You could say that:

Edit: Good transaction & not so good one today.

Not so good:

I preordered a set of M2 Japan cars from 1stopdiecast.com on July 12th? I just checked & my card was charged the full amount of $45 & change on September 6th. Email from them on the September 7th says it's waiting to ship & as soon as it ships, I will get a tracking number.

It's the 30th & I have no cars, no tracking numbers.

The good:

Couple of you may actually remember this story. I buy bunch of cars on TTP from this seller, but he had one M2 Chevelle that was missing a grille when it arrived? He gave me refund, but something like months later on the next transaction, he threw in grille when he actually found it, no charge!

I still buy from him, and when I opened my latest order(those elusive Kool Kombis), he totally made my day:

Last time I bought something from him, I asked about this car, also Matchbox camo Land Cruiser, etc. He found the camo Land Cruiser & sold it to me really cheap. This one jumped in this order for free! He's a collector & not a fulltime seller, but I always see him listing something interesting. Check him out.
I'm not as confident about that as you are.
True. Weren't the new Silhouettes like double the old MSRP?
This is bad times? :(
They don't really have competition to keep them honest, and IMO it shows.

As an aside on the 787B, the white/blue one is lesser known, but that was the factory Mazda color scheme in those days. There was a whole squadron of official white/blue entries, and the orange/green car was almost an afterthought—an unorthodox sponsor graphic for an extra car that was there just to support the others.
Of course things never go according to plan in motorsports, and the unusually-colored car is the only one we remember today.

I realize I'm often hard on TLV, but one factor I keep forgetting is the declining purchasing power of the Japanese yen, and the rising manufacturing/production cost in China.

Yeah, no doubt that's a factor in the price rises over the past few years.

Also, looks like there's going to be two 510 Safari rally cars?

Pre-order is your only hope to get these at a reasonable price. They will skyrocket immediately.
I adore those hot hatches in real life. You guys let me know as soon as amiami preorder is in. I don't want to miss out!
Still no Forza series cars or the new real rider series with the black Mercedes 190e.
Welcome to my world.

Second one was the actual real life rally car right @GroupB ?

Yellow and silver look great. Depends on what else is in the batch for that month. No word on the release date for those yet?

........Maybe.

Notice that the 2 batches are of different cars. The one with the yellow variety is the facelift model.

I thought the taillight looked odd on one of the models, but I wasn't sure going by the size of the photos. I'm not really familiar with this facelift, but I think I'll still get all of them....

Front bumpers & headlights are noticeable differences in the photos. The hood must be different too because you can see Tomytec has made it a separate piece that swaps in and out for cost-cutting.

Good to know. Thank you for the info. 👍

Speaking of TLV, last night I won an ebay auction for the green Porsche 912 ($50 total!).

Have some Porsches from a few other brands on the way. Keep thinking of starting yet another diecast blog to document them.

This was my brother's birthday mail yesterday, somewhat rare collection of Hot Wheels AcceleRacers cars! Left to right: Bassline, Synkro, Rat-i-fied, Drift Tech, and definitely my favorite, Battle Spec. Pretty sure I was way more excited for these than he was :) I'm making it my mission to build up a collection of AcceleRacers over the years, too ;)

I found my first ever treasure hunt last night, where Asda had refilled with old case cars (blue MX5, white Focus RS for example). It was only a grim Fandango, but a TH is a TH in the wild.

Remember my UK world, where Hot Wheels monthly releases are mythical things, seen ever so rarely.

Don't even go there about Matchbox. I haven't seen a Skyline 2000 yet, let alone the i3 or Golf Country.

What's the use of HW Monthly if the cars are like those

And yeah in my world, Matchbox models sucks.

Ooh boy, another nostalgia hit! I can't quite remember, was there any difference between the black wing and orange wing variants of the Synkro in terms of how hard to find they are? I should have both (or all three if you want to count that translucent green one), but that was from a time where I wasn't normally present when they were purchased, so I can't really remember which were hard to find.
